Rarity's Stallion 23 May 21, 2012 Share May 21, 2012 I've updated the Background information and the Synopsis of my new, budding fanfic The Equestrian Revolution. But before We get to that, here is what I have of the actual story. To everypony planning on reading it, please feel free to comment on it as you see fit. I'm currently seeking an editor/pre-reader to help me write it and provide feedback as I go along. Here it is, in Google Docs form: https://docs.google....obfPOFiUX4/edit That said, here is the Background and Synopsis. Enjoy and please, please, please tell me what you think!!! Background: The story takes place 10 years after the events of MLP:FiM, with each of the Mane 6 having fully grown into adults and becoming more focused on their career paths. Here is what I envision the Mane 6, as well as the CMC and other characters I figure on featuring prominently in the story as doing with their lives at this point: Twilight Sparkle: After completing her studies with Princess Celestia, Twilight went on to become a graduate professor at Canterlot University of Magic, in addition to becoming one of Celestia’s most trusted advisors. Rainbow Dash: Rainbow Dash went on to embark on a productive career with the Wonderbolts, in which she managed to break nearly every single individual racing record. With Spitfire’s announcement that she intends to retire following the end of the current season, Rainbow is considered the prohibitive favorite to take over Spitfire’s position as Captain of the Wonderbolts. Applejack: Applejack is currently leading day-to-day operations of Sweet Apple Acres following the death of Granny Smith. She is also the President of the Ponyville Chamber of Commerce, a local coalition of small and family-owned businesses. In the recent election for Mayor of Ponyville, Applejack repeatedly rejected pleas from the retiring Mayor Mare and the political establishment of the town to run against the relatively inexperienced Pinkie Pie, citing her need to focus on Sweet Apple Acres as well as her feelings that Pinkie Pie deserved to be Mayor. Nonetheless, a “Draft Applejack” campaign was launched. Despite Applejack’s consistent assertions that she would not accept the post even if the campaign were successful, and despite her very public endorsement of Pinkie Pie, the campaign managed to cast 23% of the total ballots as write-ins for Applejack. Rarity: Rarity’s fashion business steadily grew throughout the years to the point where she was able to open a large boutique in Canterlot to replace the smaller one in Ponyville. She currently employs more than 50 ponies in her Canterlot outlet and is planning on incorporating her business and opening boutiques in other cities throughout Equestria. She is currently engaged to Canterlot socialite Fancy Pants; the two began their current relationship after Fancy Pants’ nasty and well-publicized divorce from Fleur-De-Lis. Fluttershy: Fluttershy managed to get some real professional help in enhancing her assertiveness and self-esteem. It appears to have worked, as she is currently a very vocal student activist at Cloudsdale University, where she is pursuing her doctorate in Veterinary Studies. Pinkie Pie: Having settled down considerably from her hyperactive youth, the still-fun-loving Pinkie Pie was recently elected Mayor of Ponyville, having successfully used her connections and friendships she’d established throughout her life in the town. Despite the persistent “Draft Applejack” campaign, Pinkie Pie still managed to garner more than 75% of the vote in the election, with no other candidate standing against her on the ballot. Shining Armor: Shining Armor continued to ascend the ranks of the Royal Guard throughout the years, and is currently its Commander. His loyalty to Princess Celestia is almost as strong and unflappable as his loyalty to his sister Twilight Sparkle. Princess Cadance: About a year after their Royal Wedding, Princess Cadance gave birth to her and Shining Armor’s daughter, Princess Felicity, who is growing up and has established a very close relationship with her “Auntie Twiley,” who is a constant visitor. Apple Bloom: Following Granny Smith's death, Apple Bloom assumed many of the responsibilities of running Sweet Apple Acres, along with Applejack and Big Mac. Scootaloo: Scootaloo is currently a top prospect for the Wonderbolts and is expected to be called up within the next few months, but not during the current racing season, which is due to end very soon. She is currently the head of the Ponyville branch of Pegasus Weather Managers. Sweetie Belle: Sweetie Belle is beginning her education at Canterlot University of Magic, and is currently living with her sister Rarity and her fiance Fancy Pants, much to the latter’s chagrin. Big Mac: Along with Applejack and Apple Bloom, Big Mac currently assists in running the day-to-day operations of Sweet Apple Acres in order to support his wife Cheerilee and their newborn daughter. Cheerilee: Recently back from maternity leave, Cheerilee was recently elected President of the Equestrian Educators Association (the national teachers union). Synopsis: When the Flim Flim Brothers and their associates attempt to set up shop in Ponyville, they are greeted by the recently elected Mayor of Ponyville, Pinkie Pie. When Pinkie Pie kindly requests that Flim Flim Enterprises (as the associates have collectively named themselves) take their operations elsewhere, they present Pinkie Pie with a certificate signed by Princess Celestia which she grants to all new business owners, giving them license to operate anywhere in Equestria. It is decided that Pinkie Pie will lead a delegation of Ponyville residents to Canterlot Castle and request that Princess Celestia revoke the business license of Flim Flam Enterprises. When Celestia refuses to do so, a series of events is touched off which eventually bring the monarchy and all of Equestria to its knees. Protests are repressed, the old order is challenged, and relationships are strained, with the now fully-grown Mane 6 divided amongst themselves, along with the rest of Equestria.
