Here's a what if for the sake of discussion

There's no such thing as magic, so thankfully you will not have to worry about this happening to any of you or your children, however let's explore this fictional world scenario for fun

You are warped to Equestria from MLP G4 while you are asleep, you end up in Everfree Forest at mid night, fully clothed of course, if you were not already, you are now, but you are alone, in the dark, and at the mercy of nature, you now are at risk of an attack from the various creatures that inhabit the forest from Timberwolves to the fabled Cockatrice and even bears. How do you respond? you will be relieved to find out that the temperature is not too cold, as it is summer season, the atmosphere has not radiated too much of the warmth away into the void of outer space, but you're still in need of help, do you look for civilization? or do you take your chances within the forest itself, perhaps climb one of the trees to seek refuge until the break of dawn? let's see what wild imaginations any of you possess! do not be ashamed of this.

I'd like to add, by the break of dawn, some mysterious magic kicks in, causing you to transform into a pony, but before this occurs you are not aware of the realm's limitations that would cause you this transformation.

I'm pretty sure the first thing I would do is seek shelter, if not form the elements but from anything that could do me serious bodily harm.  Preferably somewhere I could get a good vantage point to see all around me, like a cave on a hill or even just some sheltered high ground.  I'd assess my situation with whatever I have on hand versus what I could conceivably craft from the area around me.  Not wanting to risk moving in the dark, I'd stay put until first light, then I'd try to find some form of civilization.

If I'm to transform at daybreak, it might make it easier to fit in with the locals, and easier to move around than it would to retain my original form.  I'd just wander around and see who I bump in to or where I end up.

How I'd respond in this fantasy world scenario? I know I said I'd like to be in Equestria, but not like this, having not grown up there I probably would not have the same adaptations both mentally and physically as denizens who have been born there, in other words I would not want it to burden their population.

Then there's the whole culture diversity thing which means changing the way I speak to avoid being rude.

Good thing this can never happen. Being born and raised there would have been a whole lot better.

As for how I'd react to being TP'd to Everfree Forest mysteriously, well, my first instinct would be to find somewhere to hide be it a cave or in the canopy of trees, even then I'd be concerned about predators that could find me by sense of smell or even acute hearing, so I'd have to take it slow, making a lot of noise would more likely get their attention, and I'd be a fool to ignore that detail. Wasting energy wandering aimlessly in the dark would not be my first choice because if all I find is more woodlands and dark, I'd be in a worse state to defend myself if a predator did find me. But if I hide, I could find somewhere to sleep the night away until the break of dawn, to then figure out where I am and how I got there.
