If you had to choose between any ponies species, what would you be?

Big bang? well, there's that, I doubt the metaphysical aspect of Equestria would change the fact that their universe still expands and perhaps had an origin. Even in fiction, space and time is still a fundamental aspect of the physical world the characters live in, you may even say, as far as fantasy goes, metaphysical could be considered a 5th fundamental force, magic does not exist IRL, but had it been real, messing with magic could make or break reality.

I think there's still some magic in the world if you look in the right places. It's small and it's fragile, but it's still enough to do wonders my new Pegasus associate.

I don't wish to assume anything about you, however I take no offence about being called a pegasus, it's a transformation I'd happily embrace if given the option as a symbol of my love for Equestria, none of us can go there except for the realms of Hasbro's fiction, dream worlds.

I wonder what accents we'd have if we lived there, I imagined myself with an old wild west accent, like Applejack's, it seems more likely to be the case than the British one I do now.

I couldn't care less, the thought of speaking like her would not bother me at all, though it might some people. As long as we have a good heart and are polite, our native language or accent does not matter.

Sometimes on forums, people enjoy being called by their OC name and species. It adds flare. Apologies for dropping that on you. When I'm on any of the MLP related sites, I'm Dusk Haven, Dusk for short. I like it that way. It allows me to feel free.

I agree, and nah you don't need to apologize, you did nothing wrong. I made it clear before what my wishes were, and being called a pegasus brought a smile to my face, I don't know about everyone else, which is why I try to be careful about it. Sometimes here, on this forum, I use phrases like "everypony" but only for lighthearted fun. Unless somebody explicitly declares they wish to be called what their OC is, I don't take it further than that. If they did not mind being called what their OCs are, then the conversation turns out like this.

Earth ponies really have that connection to nature. I've come to believe that is their magic; connection to the outdoors, growing things, strength. They are an amazing race of pony.

Any of their magical abilities are important for Equestria as well, and while some people may not be fond of the magical aspect of My Little Pony Friendship is Magic and may consider it a sort of cheat code, I support the idea of Hasbro writing a different series for people with that opinion so each party is satisfied. Being a long time fan of Disney movies, I like magic in fantasy stories because it adds to the sense of mystery in worlds where normal rules don't apply, and that metaphysics is brought to the forefront of how things work in a universe very different from our own. I do believe in stories magic should have limits because there is such a thing as being overpowered, and that certain magic spells should come with a price, whether it be being a risk to a character's health or risking altering reality as they know it, therefore careful consideration for powerful spells must be taken.

Magic is sometimes tied to a species of pony, because alicorns are indeed the most powerful, as a balance, I think there should be more of the other types of ponies, and in Equestria there is.

A pegasus can sometimes possess speedster abilities like Rainbow Dash, which could be considered to be powered by magic and overpowered to some, but let's be honest, Rainbow Dash does have limits to her powers too, even if she could reach escape velocity, she still cannot breathe in space can she? I don't recall an episode where she survived in orbit. Some fictional characters are outright broken in terms of their powers, Hasbro did well to prioritize story telling over spectacle, and if a character encounters a problem they cannot solve on their own, they ask for help from friends who can.

I find it awesome that people are picking a species of pony based on their honest preferences and personal goals, instead of merely seeking power by wishing to be an alicorn. That to me, tells me that people are acknowledging that power isn't everything, also people who did pick wishing to be an alicorn, may have done so for reasons other than that, Dusk Haven certainly isn't wishing to be a demigod pony, she has a better reason.

I picked wishing to be a pegasus, some people picked earth pony or unicorn. 

Yeah, I've always made clear in my writings that Dusk is not as powerful as Luna or Celestia. She's on par with Twilight before she took over running Equestria in the last season. Dusk's strength is found in her strategic thinking and knowledge built from 1,800 years of traveling the world. She's an accomplished diplomat. She has always used subtle magics unless its in a fight to protect. She was always afraid of other ponies thinking she was royalty and accidentally upsetting the balance that Celestia and Luna created if she were discovered. She has never once wanted to rule any pony but herself. Thank you for pointing that out my dear Dawnshine!

Yeah, I wouldn't want to upset the balance of Equestria either, that's cool, we get a better idea about how powerful Dusk Haven is with details like that and honestly it doesn't matter that she isn't as powerful as Twilight in the later arcs, all that matters is she cares which she does, in my fan fiction universe I would be grateful having been reborn as any species of pony in that fantasy world scenario, and in my fanfic that decision would be left up to an alternate reality version of Princess Luna after she offers my OC the choice to become a pony, who is a part time spiritual guide in the underworld but still alive and is immortal, pegasus is only my preference because of the ability to fly would be useful for getting away from threats, if my OC cannot be a good fighter, my OC can at least be a good escape artist after learning how to fly. If my OC had to confront Chrysalis to protect the innocent then so be it, even with my fear of her, if children were in danger, I'd gladly help.

Dawnshine Wonder won't be as fast as Rainbow Dash either, which could have been a problem at the beginning of this fanfic in Everfree Forest when my OC was lost there at night after trekking across the badlands and other parts of the land. But luck saved my OC from Timberwolves, Dawnshine Wonder slept there without being noticed by them, before Applejack found my OC. I'm sorry, does this sound silly or disturbing? if so, then I can stop.

Its great to make OC's and have them be cool and have amazing abilities, but having our OC's based in the canon lore with respect to the important characters of this Universe is so important to keeping it a smooth blend into that world of MLP. On the other hand, in AU stories, I guess anything goes.

It's as I said, like you, all as my OC, would desire in Equestria is a peaceful life, not be the center of attention, I couldn't care less that Mane Six and Royal Sisters and their important secondary character allies would be in charge of most of the important decisions for Equestria, just as long as my OC had a friend or two to lend a hoof as my OC would do for them in their time of need. If an issue arises my OC would deal with it then, I'd want to be a pacifist, avoiding conflict where possible, though. Your OC being a diplomat would probably help settle issues of segregation with Changelings and other creatures that inhabited their world.
