This is an HiE fic, but instead of staying human or turning into a friendly species, the main character becomes a changeling, and wakes up in the Canterlot dungeon with little memory of his past except for the source of his depression. Being depressed keeps him from feeding properly, which in turn, has him living on the brink of starvation.
