Phaeston-e12 173 July 27, 2012 Share July 27, 2012 I've spent most of today pretending to be sick; although I do felt incredibly fatigued and distracted. So I really didn't get virtually anything done aside from paying bills today. Well anyway, here's a undersketch which I will be working on vectoring; Night Mare Moon. I probably will spend up to midnight doing the preliminary vectors; regardless if you find anything wrong with this undersketch; feel free to point 'em out. Will be updating this thread when I'm done with it or if anyone wants to bother ripping my art apart. Cheers.
Felix 1,363 July 27, 2012 Share July 27, 2012 Actually this drawing is perfect! Excellent job! I was wondering what all the lines that run down the page are for? Credit to Kyoshi for the awesome signature!
Phaeston-e12 173 July 27, 2012 Author Share July 27, 2012 (edited) Actually this drawing is perfect! Excellent job! I was wondering what all the lines that run down the page are for? It's to make sure that I'm using the scales correctly, something liek head to body ratio and structual alignments. Princess Luna from season 2 have 4:1 head to body ratio, NMM and Princess Celestia have something like 5:1 and my OC is something of 4.5:1 while I believe that mane 6 has 3:1. Edit: I had to use more guidelines in this particular one since she's basically facing slightly toward the screen. Ah, I see, I haven't seen scaling in art before. Interesting technique. Credit to Kyoshi for the awesome signature!
Phaeston-e12 173 July 27, 2012 Author Share July 27, 2012 Ah, I see, I haven't seen scaling in art before. Interesting technique. Most artists do not bother putting them since it's only supposed to help them drawing with accuracy. Most of the time expert artists from what Ican tell only use few lines; but I'm no expert and this is the first attempt at NMM I'm doing; so whatever helps me I will abuse the hell out of it. ..spicy chicken sammich. Felix 1,363 July 27, 2012 Share July 27, 2012 Ohh, ok! Well it definately helps, so it seems. I've been drawing for a long time, I never use any of the lines or beginning shapes. I simply draw. Credit to Kyoshi for the awesome signature!
