Origins Chapter 2 Despair

The wind whirled through the trees, the slender limbs swaying back and forth, their horrid tune whistling through the dusk hued forest. The sun was setting and all was not well. The sun finally sank, the sky now a pale yet deep shade of blue. The stars began to show and the clouds darkened. In a nearby bush lay Hallow, her body limp upon the broken bush. Her slender body was covered in stained blood and muk, her form truly a pitiful sight to see. She let out a weak groan, her consciousness finally seeping back into her. Her hair was mangled with twigs, muk and leaves, and her eye was gashed horribly.

 

Her wings lay limp as she tried to stand, the bones in her webbed appendages shattered. She let out another groan of pain and sank down to her knees, muddy tears streaming down her swollen cheeks. "M....My kingdom....I...I failed them. Brother....Sister....Mother... I'm so sorry...." She weeped, choking out her words as she cried. She sniffed and got up, trying to flap her wings once more. She winced and placed them back, looking around. "....I...I have to get back. "

 

She began to wander about the forest, limping her way through the paths. Soon she could hear ponies and felt a tinge of hope arise in her heart. Ponies were nearby and they could help! She began to dash to the sounds, their voices becomming louder and louder until she reached a pond. She glanced about to find them b to no avail. Nopony was here. "But....I swear I could hear them...." Blinking, she looked at the water and gasped, falling over and groaning from the pain of her wing being under her body.

 

Under the water, sea ponies were talking to eachother, minding their own business. She sighed and laid beside the water, needing to rest from the dash she had pulled. The two sea dwellers noticed her and surfaced, confused onto why she was here. The first one flipped her ivory locks behind her ears, blinking her red eyes at Hallow. Her voice was silky yet dark, almost like a lullaby. "You, who are you? Are you from Ponyville or Canterlot? If so, your far away from home sweety. " She cooed, the moonlight illuminating her blue scales. The second one did not say a word, only nodding with what the other said. Hallow frowned and nodded solumnly, trying to get back up. "I..I'm sorry.....I don't know where I am..."

 

They both noticed the wounds and sank under the water, leaving Hallow alone by the pond. She grew sad once more and wobbled away from the pond, heading north. A blast of water struck Hallow and began to drag her into the water, the sea ponies glowing with power. She tried to struggle but the water had too tight of a grip upon poor Hallow. She gasped and let out a screech, the vibrations blasting the water away.She fell to the ground and blacked out, the water sweeping over her and dragging her under.

 

Meanwhile in the Kingdom, Abyss was the new king. Prince Dark Seer had been placed in the dungeon, chained up for the rest of eternity. Everypony bowed before Abyss's might, terrified of his power. The guards had bee replaced with spell bound bat ponies, their minds blank and their bodies controlled. He had the entire kingdom under his hoof. Sitting in his throne, the younger princess was bound to his side, her body stained with old blood. He was grinning, happy to finally be king. The princess whimpered and tried to take the chains off secretly.

 

"Those won't come off my little mare. You see Shimmer Wing, you are now my mare to be. You should be grateful I let you live. Your entire bucking family had this kingdom stuck in the dark ages. It is time for change." He chuckled, adjusting her golden crown upon his silver locks. His body was adorned with the royal jewelry and armor, his black coat barely seen. He let out another chuckle, is eyes glowing with power. "Nopony can stop me now. You see everypony? I am strong. Just because I am a half-breed doesn't mean I can't be on top!" He let out a howl of cheer and sent in the guards to drag away Shimmer, her spirit already crushed. She lay limp in the guard's grasp as they drug her away, tears falling to the floor.

 

She was placed in the mating chambers, her body chained to the bed. She continued to weep and mourn, her hope diminished. The guards barricaded the door, standing infront of the entrance. Abyss made his way passed them and grinned, taking his armor off. "Now I think it's time for you to do your job my little mare." he nickered, making her way to the bed. Shimmer gasped as he slammed her head into the bed, her eyesight dimming. The last moments she could witness were Abyss ontop of her frail body, his grin never diminishing.

 

Back at the pond, Hallow awoke in an unfamiliar cave surrounded by sea ponies of all colors. Her wings and body were bandaged, her eye adorning a patch. Groggily, she jumped up, dashing to the nearest exit. The mare she met earlier stopped her, a smile on her face. "Calm my friend, we did not mean to scare you." She spoke, brushing Hallow's hair away from her face. She was startled but nodded, realizing they had cared for her. "What.....What time is it? I have to get back to my kingdom!" She cried, her face twisted with fear and worry. The sea ponies began chattering and staring at her, confused on what she meant. "What do you mean mare?" The pony asked, telling the other to hush. "I....I am Princess Hallow Skye.....I come from the kingdom known as Eternia... It was overtaken and I need to get back to help in the fight!". The sea ponies hushed and bowed, allowing their leader to step forth.

 

She was very tall, her horn sharp and adorned with coral and shells. Her mane was the color of the ocean, shells and kelp entangled within it. Her eyes were a beautiful sapphire and her coat was a pale blue with streams of white glowing marks. She was the leader of the Sea ponies. She stepped forth and stretched, showing off her beautiful wings. She smiled kindly and lifted up Hallow's chin. "We shall help you find your way home little one. I am Queen Sedna, ruler of all who dwell within the waters of Equestria. Your name is Hallow Skye? Well Hallow, I hope you don't mind that we help. ". She was so kind, so caring. It made Hallow smile. She nodded and tried to stretch her own webbed wings, only to wince in pain.

 

Sedna frowned, her horn glowing with a bright blue. The glow surrounded Hallow and began to heal her wounds, the bandages falling from her slender form. After her wounds vanished, she let her down, walking away. "There is a portal nearby that leads to Everfree Forest, I shall take you to that portal. Once you get there, go north towards Ponyville. I hear that they are most helpful there." The sea ponies departed into the water, the Queen making her way to a smaller pond that glowed with jewels and flowers. "Here, jump into this pond and you shall be sent to the Everfree Forest." She nudged her towards the pond, smiling warmly. Hallow gulped and dove into the pond, the water seeping into her body and transporting her into the murky pond in Everfree Forest.

 

She gasped and choked out the murky water, swimming into a nearby bank. She struggled and frced herself out of the water, soaked from the journey. Spitting up some water, she glanced around, noticing the ruins. The old ruins were cracked and overgrown with vegetation, their age clearly shown. She smiled and spread her wings, heading north. She could save her kingdom and be the hero! With the sun starting to rise, her soared through the crisp air towards Ponyville, hoping to find someone who could help. However, darkness loomed in the distance from where her Kingdom was. What would happen to Shimmer Wing and Dark Seer or the Queen? Will she be too late?
