Proctra Music 335 December 21, 2012 Share December 21, 2012 I know what you mean. I think for the overall track searching via non music mans should have a genre, artist, title assortment system. Or some sort of in depth music finder for that matter. Finding new music is key in a community based around it. Also, I'd find a grouping system for uploaders QUITE useful. For albums, Mixes (Dj shtuff). Along that line. Featured music page for the top music according to the ponies. Just as much a featured artist page, in some way. Maybe think about introducing a visualizer. That'd be pretty neato. As for now that's, it I'll post more later on. Overall it is trully awesome! really stylish setup. The buttons are reminding me of windows 8 lol.

Finding new music is key in a community based around it. Absolutely. Discovery of new music and new artists is absolutely going to be a focus of the "final" Pony.fm. I really appreciate your ideas on how to make that happen. A lot of features are still missing from the site, but that's just the nature of alpha software. Currently, I have areas of the site planned for displaying tracks by: genre remixed show songs "type" of song (remixes, original songs, and remixes of fan songs - you choose one of these when publishing your track) tags (referring to an open-ended tagging system, which does not exist yet) Each artist's uploads are displayed on their profile, and there is a list of artists separate from the full user list. The artist list tells you how many uploads an artist has. I'd find a grouping system for uploaders QUITE useful. For albums, Mixes (Dj shtuff). Along that line. The upcoming Playlist feature should address that, if I understand your needs correctly. Anyone can add anyone's tracks to a playlist, and your playlists will be displayed on your profile (think YouTube). Does that sound like it'll cover your bases? Featured music page for the top music according to the ponies. Just as much a featured artist page, in some way. Have you checked out the new homepage? It has a "top tracks" list, which is based on track views in the past 24 hours. Please leave your feedback on it in its thread. As for featured artists, we have a separate discussion running about how to do that. If you have any specific ideas on how to accomplish that, please state your thoughts there. The current theme is indeed based on Windows 8 - I hope that's a good thing. I am very glad to see you have big plans for this site! I love the attention Pony.fm has at the moment. The playlist feature you in line sounds like a very nice step. I think that should be something that will be a key piece there. Now the largest problem I see with playlists on multiple sites is just lack of accessibility, and or appeal. The playlist function should be looked at as an alternative to nitpicking through your favs, and with this in mind have accessible from any time your browsing the site. The new soundcloud update makes the playlists/sets extremely easy to just put on the thing in its entirety without loops. Now I know all of this sounds very self explanatory but it cannot be overlooked. Maybe a dock? Not for me to say xD Finding new music and artists is one the largest thrill of the brony music community and this needs to be LARGELY focused upon. It's very nice to see you share my enthusiasm with this. The ideas you have are fantastic and have good merit, in order for this to really be seen you should invest time to make this innovative as possible. You should be able to come to this section of the site no idea what you want, and leaving with your new favorite song, musician, etc... The Windows 8ish style quite neato indeed... Thanks for your time Edited December 31, 2012 by WoonaMooves
