I watch you march with your friends as the band plays
What are those words whispered Twilight just as you turn away
I saw her last night out on the edge of town
I wanna read her mind and know just what she's got in this new thing she found
So tell me what I see when I look in your eyes
Is that you Twilight or just a pony disguise

I heard somepony call her name from underneath her willow
I saw something tucked in shame underneath Spike's pillow
Well I've tried so hard Twilight but I just can't see
What a pony like you is doing with wings

Now look at Twilight Sparkle struggling to do everything right
And then it all falls apart with a report she forgot to write
She's just a magic pony, she walks the world in wealth
She wants to know if it's Spike she don't trust
Cause she damn sure don't trust herself

Now she plays the Alicorn princess
They play her five best friends
But just don't look too close into the palm of her hoof
She stood in front of Celestia
The Princess swore her future was right
But as November approaches
Maybe Twilight the Princess lied

So when you watch next season
You better look hard and look twice
Is that Twilight Sparkle or just a pony disguise

Tonight Ponyville is cold
Lost in the darkness of friendship and love
Celestia have mercy on the mare
Who doubts what she's sure of
