Ahhh,...hello, this is actually the first time i've ever done a...err... "special" song,..like for nightmare night and stuff...yay....i have achieved nothing -.-,...well anyway here's the song, it's about...you guessed it...nightmare moon...oooo...so original -.-,...well anyway

It's a pretty simple piece. 

 

Could've developed it more. It kinda felt the same all the way though, which can sometimes bore your audience. 

 

The number one thing to work on here is variance. Variance is what makes music music. Without it, no one would want to listen to music. 

 

Also, the drums came in all of a sudden. It's like you had a 1 second transition into them. Plus they were simple. Ambient music has only a little bit of percussion, preferably only reverse cymbals and maybe a light cymbal crash here and there. 

 

This is all from a 14 year experienced musician. Hope it helps. If you need any further advice, you can always PM me.

Ah damn,...failed again at making a song,..ahh well nvm,...variance,..yes, ah i see the drums, note to self...never use these kinds of drums again,...thank you for the advice and thank you for even listening throught this...well...travesty of a song

It's not really a travesty...well...it is a song that needs A LOT of work. But don't worry, you'll get better over time. Try listening to other artists who use that genre and see what they do. As I said before, most ambient songs contain only a little bit of percussion, mostly reverse cymbals and the like. Would you like me to coach you in music composition to improve your skills?
