Match ponies to these quotes, and I'll draw them!

Hi! I recently listened to the How to Win Friends and Influence People audiobook, and I found it to have great advice. And since it's about friendship, I thought, why not ponify it a bit?

My goal is to draw a pony illustration for each main point in the book, using a different pony each time. I've already decided on some, but the others I'm still working on and could use some help with. They can be minor characters, but they must all be canon!

Extra request: a quote from the show that demonstrates how each character relates to each point!

Master list:

Fundamental Techniques in Handling People

  • Don't criticize, condemn, or complain. (Applebloom)
  • Give honest and sincere appreciation. (Applejack: "Turns out that when you're with folks you care about, you don't have to do much to make that time memorable. Even the simplest of activities can take on a whole lotta meanin'! And you'll find that you'll remember the who long after you've forgotten the what.")
  • Arouse in the other person an eager want.

Six Ways to Make People Like You

  • Become genuinely interested in other people.
  • Smile. (Pinkie Pie: "There's one thing that makes me happy and makes my whole life worthwhile, and that's when I talk to my friends and get them to smile.")
  • Remember that a person's name is, to that person, the sweetest and most important sound in any language. (Derpy)
  • Be a good listener. Encourage others to talk about themselves.
  • Talk in terms of the other person's interest. (Sweetie Belle: "I just wanted to do something nice for my sister.")
  • Make the other person feel important – and do it sincerely. (Scootaloo: "There just aren't enough words in the dictionary to describe Rainbow Dash's awesomeness.")

Twelve Ways to Win People to Your Way of Thinking

  • The only way to get the best of an argument is to avoid it. (Fluttershy: "Were we arguing? I'm sorry.")
  • Show respect for the other person's opinions. Never say "you're wrong."
  • If you're wrong, admit it quickly and emphatically. (Trixie: "Don't you think the Great and Apologetic Trixie is the most magnificent humble pony you've ever seen?")
  • Begin in a friendly way.
  • Start with questions to which the other person will answer yes.
  • Let the other person do a great deal of the talking. (Big Macintosh: "Eyup.")
  • Let the other person feel the idea is his or hers. (Spike)
  • Try honestly to see things from the other person's point of view. (Discord: "I like it better my way, but I guess when you're friends, you can't always have things exactly your way all the time, eh?"
  • Be sympathetic with the other person's ideas and desires. (Twilight: "If my friends can't all go, I don't want to go either.")
  • Appeal to the nobler motives.
  • Dramatize your ideas. (Rarity)
  • Throw down a challenge. (Rainbow Dash: "C'mon, slowpokes! You wanna win, don't ya?")

Be a Leader: How to Change People Without Giving Offense or Arousing Resentment

  • Begin with praise and honest appreciation. (Fancy Pants: "I think the dress you made for your friend is lovely. I dare say every mare in Canterlot will be wanting one.")
  • Call attention to people's mistakes indirectly. (Spitfire: "Being the best should never come at the expense of our fellow ponies. It's not just about pushing ourselves. It's about pushing ourselves in the right direction.")
  • Talk about your own mistakes before criticizing the other person. (Twilicorn)
  • Ask questions instead of giving direct orders. (Luna: "Twilight Sparkle hath spoken of the sweetness of thy voice. We ask thou teachest to us to speak as thou speakest.")
  • Let the other person save face.
  • Praise every improvement. (Celestia: "Far better that I have a student who understands the meaning of self-sacrifice than one who only looks out for her own best interests.")
  • Give the other person a fine reputation to live up to. (Cadence: "You're anything but a regular old unicorn.")
  • Use encouragement. Make the fault seem easy to correct.
  • Make the other person happy about doing what you suggest.

Still needs ponies:

Shining Armor

The ones I already matched up are up for debate, so if you think a quote fits somepony else better, do tell! I also want to save the "Be a Leader" section for characters who are leaders in their own way. For example, Cheerilee would fit in there, though I can't decide which quote suits her best.

Derpy doesn't have canon quotes that fit, so unless someone knows of a really good quote that's related in some close way, I'll just let the book's quote speak for itself.

This is obviously going to be a long project, but I want to get into the habit of drawing constantly. I'll post illustrations as I work on them! I'll also appreciate critiques. :) Thank you!
