How would you compare this show with Transformers Prime

For me, I find MLP to be the better show than Transformers Prime.  With the exception of Return of Harmony and the first and second acts of Magical Mystery Cure (both of which had Twilight's friends altered in some horrible fashion), MLP:FiM isn't as stressful to watch as Transformers Prime.

 

MLP:FiM came at a time when everything had to be a dark, gritty reboot, like the Transformers franchise when Michael Bay made the bad live-action movies.  It was one of the few reboots of a franchise that was lighthearted, optimistic, and full of hope and laughter for a change.

 

Transformers Prime, on the other hand, was just another in a line of dark, gritty reboots.  In fact, it's so dark and gritty, that the writers of this show deliberately made Megatron into even more of a ruthless psychopath than almost any of his past incarnations.  Seriously, he gassed an entire planet, destroyed Bumblebee's voice, and abuses Starscream on a daily basis, whether to keep him in line or just for fun!

Invalid comparison. How could this glorious amazing show be compared to just another continuation of a franchise?
