[Recruiting]My Little Pony Game: EquestriaHub

Hello!

I can not give too much info at the given time, but what the game is is basically a Pokemon-like MMORPG for My Little Pony. The game will have the towns and the cities alike what they are in the movies(along with needed adjustments), and will place them out correctly as on the map of Equestria. We at least need: a coder who can code MMO games, a musician, and an artist, and maybe a few other roles too. I have one person who can code already, but he can not do online related things. I believe that we will either use JavaScript or Ruby, but I am not sure currently. I can do some of the art too, but I believe that I will need a bit of help.

I'd also like a mapping/design team to help. The map and placing of all the buildings will be hard, and I can design, but I don't reckon that I'm that good at it. The game will feature towns/cities, and other areas such as forests, in which will hold many of the RPG elements.

Anyone who helps will get the permissions to become an Alicorn class, & more! Please apply below.

NOTE: I don't believe an application form will be needed. Just tell me what you can do and how good you are at it.

Thx,

Well, all I can do is write, but I can offer some other tips from my repeated attempts at working on pony games and MMOs:

First, have an exact list of what positions you need filled -- to do this, you need to know exactly what you are working with. The biggest step right now would be knowing what engine you're gonna be using, or leaving it open to whoever will be your primary coder. Second, an MMO is work. I don't know what time constraints you're running under, but I would guess that you'll want more than one or two coders.

Finally, attract people to apply by knowing what you're talking about! Don't bother with "I think it'll work like this" or "I believe this can work" -- if I'm gonna commit time and energy to a team, I want to know that the leader has a firm grip on the reins and a vision of the final product. For instance, I'm confused by this: you say "Pokemon-like" but then go on to hint that helpers get to be an "alicorn class." The Pokemon games don't have player classes, and that is a pretty significant step away from "Pokemon-like." A bit of detail about how you envision this game to be played would be a big help.

Probably not the reply you were hoping for, but depending on the details, I might know a coder or three who could help.

Thx for the feedback! Unlike some, I believe in constructive critisism, and will be happy to rewrite and edit the post.

Those coders will be nice to have in the team too, so I'll message you when I create the new post!

Again, thx!

I guess I might even create the complete plans and possibly GDD first.
