2025: Meet Your Brand New Image

Yay. Happy 2025. I was inspired by @Misty Shadow's blog post and decided to do a similar retrospective. Except I don’t really have much to look back on for 2024, it was a fairly uneventful year which honestly I’m perfectly fine with. Nothing awful happened, and nothing really amazing happened either. October is not only spooky month, it's bat appreciation month as well! Bats, despite usually being out of our sight, are all around us! They're present in every country on Earth! Which means no matter where you live, you almost certainly have multiple species of bats living around you! They're the only flying mammals on earth, which is pretty cool! Lesson Zero: “This is the. Worst. Possible. Thing!”

Call it nostalgia but the first 3 seasons of FiM really do feel special to me. The first 2 especially, which you can probably chalk up to Lauren Faust’s influence. They feel cozier, more down to earth. It feels like there’s more charm to the animation and environments. I mean just compare Twilight’s library to her castle, after all. You can see the difference between the first few seasons vs the later ones in just that one single comparison. Everything is just less grand and less
