It is time for another workplace rant, all the employees above General Merchandise Clerk (except for meat cutters) all had to go to this training about alcohal policy due to a local ordinace requiring it every two years. Even the receiver (back room manager) and night crew manager (as in graveyard night) had to go. The training itself wasn't that bad it was the timing that pissed me off. On Wednseday I was the opening dairy clerk and on Wednesday my wall load (everything in dairy section except milk) is nearly always late and I have to put in the order for the next day which makes that day already a pain in the ass, but what made things ever worse is that I had to leave the store at 1:30 to get to another store in the district to go to the training at 2 (thank god I had a ride) giving me less time than ever to get anything done.

I am off on Thursdays so I missed the excitement that day but I come in Friday morning and walk in to a complete and total clusterfuck. The shelves were completely shot and a significant portion of Thursdays load had not been worked yet. I had to clean things up and make room for the milk load which took forever. Jose did his best but he had to leave the store at 12:30 to go to the training at 1:00 and the load I ordered was a fairly large one because of the small load he ordered for Wednesday. It seemed like a good idea to go big, but I ordered I way way too much juice and creamers. The bottom line is I had no idea what the fuck we even had so I guessed and I guessed wrong. I got as much of Thursdays remaining load as I could done and got to none of the repack so when I ordered later that afternoon I said to hell with it and ordered practically nothing.

Yesterday I opened again and the load coming late which is usually not the case for Saturdays was a huge blessing in disguise. It gave me time to clean things up and I had some help which is usually not the case when I am the opener. I got half of the load done before going home and my backup finished the rest, it wasn't anywhere near enough and that I will get chewed out for it but what other choice did I have? I have the next two days off, Sunday because I am nearly always off on Sundays and Monday because I requested it because of a dentist appointment.
