So I saw the new main-villain, who not only revealed his power to absorb other ponies' life-force and even cutie-marks, but also his name. And, that name belongs to a familiar Generation One villain from the movie, Rescue From Midnight Castle: Tirek. Sure, he doesn't look like the old Tirek, and he's not voiced by Victor Caroli, Tirek's original voice-actor, who was ironically used to do the voice for the paralyzed horse from Bravest Warriors. But, based on what I saw so far, the new Tirek will be enough to make even the old Tirek look like Generation 3's ponies.

And, I remember a clip from the promo where Tirek was about to assault Twilight's friends. Based on all those little clues, it seems Tirek might go so far as to absorb their life-forces and cutie-marks, possibly to emotionally and psychologically destroy Twilight.

Now, I have a problem with this kind of twist. It almost contradicts with the idea of not only Twilight, but also her friends unlocking Rainbow Power from the blue box. For the girls to use that Rainbow Power on Tirek, all six need to be alive, conscious, and together, and unfortunately, five of those girls are taken out of commission, forcing Twilight to fight alone, probably with Celestia, Luna, and Cadence's magic powering her up.

Another problem is that I'm too emotionally attached Twilight and her friendship with her friends, just to see that kind of twist happen. I grew so accustomed to Twilight going through thick and thin with her friends (except Equestria Girls, where she resorted to their humanized counterparts, and not the original ponies), that watching her see her friends go to something akin to death would just destroy me just as much as Twilight. The last time that happened was Return of Harmony, where all five of Twilight's friends not only turned against her, but outright ganged up on her and reduced her to a pitiful cesspool of loneliness and isolation. And, I don't want to see this kind of thing happen again, this time in a new form.

But then again, it's the Season Four finale. I'm supposed to be crushed underneath the emotional weight of that kind of thing happening. Otherwise, it would've just been another generic episode.

Back to the twist contradicting the Rainbow Power, here's what I hope to see happen if Twilight's friends do have their life-forces and cutie-marks sucked out by Tirek. In the climax, Twilight is beaten to death and is about to have her life-force and cutie-mark stolen. Then, Twilight's comatose friends all meet up with the five characters who gave them their keys, motivating them to get back up and rescue Twilight. Listening to them, the girls not only wake up, but also unlock their Rainbow Power, so that they could eventually head to Twilight and rescue her. Their Rainbow Power also ends up unlocking Twilight's, and it's through that Rainbow Power, they summon a magic rainbow to defeat Tirek, restore the three princesses' magic as well as possibly Discord, any time he's Worfed, and save all of Equestria. It doesn't bring back Twilight's destroyed library, because she gets a new, crystalized library in its stead. But it does return everything else to the status quo for Season Five.

Another thing I don't want to see: Celestia, Luna, and Cadence all being imprisoned in Tartarus by Tirek, and the ending to the finale leaving behind a plot-thread where Twilight must find a way into Tartarus to save them. It's bad enough dealing with all of that emotional weight, but a cliffhanger is just adding salt to a wound. And that, I don't hope to see, alongside everything else I've explained above.
