Once again, the majority of Shonen Jump manga *SPOILERS*

You know, like Dragon Ball Z, Naruto, and Bleach, where only one or two characters are the ones growing in power, while everyone else is reduced to disposable extras?

Yeah, that kind of thing: http://www.equestriadaily.com/2014/05/new-clip-on-mlp-facebook-page.html#idc-cover

In that clip, Celestia, Luna, and Cadence outright state to Twilight that she can't tell her friends about their magic being transferred into her, because it could "endanger" them. In other words, the writers have become hypocrites all over again, like in The Crystal Empire and Equestria Girls, promoting friendship and teamwork, only to dispose of it all to make everything revolve around working solo.

And I almost feel sad.

You do realize that Dragon Ball Z, Naruto, and Bleach have heavy emphasis on friendship, right? Furthermore this clip adds credence to the theory that it's a temporary change. They are hiding it from the villain, because...

Tirek thinks there are only three princesses, the more people he thinks have access to and knowledge about the power the easier it'll be to track it down.

NO ONE IS GETTING SIDELINED, CHILL OUT.

Then what explains Goku, Vegeta, and their sons growing in power, while everyone else were being reduced to disposable extras?  What about the Soul Society arc and its overemphasis on the Gotei 13, while Chad, Orihime, and Uryu deliberately got abandoned?  And, even though I never read the Naruto manga for a long time, a lot of people I met on the Internet seemed to complain that most of the fights could only be resolved by Naruto and/or Sasuke.

Besides, Celestia said it herself: Twilight can't tell her friends about her dramatic magic increase given to her by the other three princesses.  In other words, she doesn't want her friends to help her at all, as if they're now useless and disposable.

But I do hope it's the opposite.  Eventually Twilight unlocks the Rainbow Power inside the box, and with it, she does gain help from her friends in defeating Tirek and saving Equestria.

You're the one reducing them to disposable extras, a growth in one character's power does not make anyone else obsolete. That's ridiculous. I guess that means that Fluttershy didn't reform Discord right? I guess Spike didn't save the denizens of the Crystal Empire twice, huh? I guess AJ didn't single-handedly take down a Chimera, right? Or maybe it was that none of the Mane 6 helped Twi when she was petrified by a Cragadile? Oh wait that happened, too.

Commader, you're the one who's treating the Mane 6 as if they've been made disposable, not the narrative, because you fail to realize that power is not as important in MLP's universe as it is in Shonen Jump, and that none of the supporting cast is powerless themselves. The focus is not on fighting, but rather the relationships you make with friends. I don't have much knowledge on Naruto, Bleach, or DBZ, either, but all of those anime have the protagonist wanting to be the best. Twilight just wants to fit in, but has had a ridiculous role forced on her.

So please, for the last time, relax.
