A little rant (December 3, 2014)

Hello everypony. I hope you all are having a good day. I am making this blog post to rant on something I saw earlier today.

Alabama Crimson Tide is my favorite college. I am a HUGE fan of them. I try to watch every college football game of theirs and cheer them on. As a Tide fan, I was pretty disgusted on the decision made by Bama's athletic director Bill Battle. He decided to completely stop playing the song "Dixieland Delight" by Alabama which has been a tradition to play at Bryant-Denny Stadium, the home football stadium of the Crimson Tide. When I read what has happened, I was at first shocked then mad about it, like any Tide fan would be. It's been a tradition to play that song for many years on every home game. I don't believe a tradition should be changed just like that. Especially if it's really popular among the fans. Sure, the fans add their own lyrics to the song at the games that trash talk the other college teams but that's a part of any sport. You are going to have those people that trash talk the opposing team. Also, if it's a popular tradition that's been going on for years, why change it now? I'm sure you've all heard the phrase "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." Well this tradition isn't broke at all. Every single Bama fan goes along with this tradition so it's obviously not broken. Therefore, It doesn't need to be changed, or in this case banned. I also see this decision as a start to ban other long time traditions that the Crimson Tide fans have but that's just speculating.

So to make a long story short, I really don't agree that the song should be banned from the home games. I also don't believe that a long, popular tradition should be changed.
