I decided to write the backstroy of two of my main ponyocs down. And yes, my english is bad. :I

Scarlet Paper (back then Puzzles) and Nameless Rhyme grew up in the same village, but they never had real contact untill they were about 10 to 11 years old.

Rhyme on the other hand (or hoove) was more or less ostracized by the residents, since she is an earth pony/zebra hybrid, which lived with her parents outside of the village and the older ponies did not want that their children got in contact with her. Because of that she was mostly quietly standing in the area, watching and studying the behavior of the others, what made her appear even creepier in the eyes of her „subjects“. But thanks to her hobby she was the first one who noticed that Scarlet suddenly started to act different than usal. For some reason the little pegasus seemed more depressed than happy.

Scarlet may liked to help others, but she never told another pony when she had problems. That was because her father, Whistling Ways, always told her that stallions had to solve their problems alone, otherwise it would show everypony that they are weak. Also, nopony ever asked her how she felt, so it was no wonder that she was surprised when finally somepony did and especially when she realized that it was the pony hardly somepony talked with. Of course Scarlet had trouble to talk with Rhyme at first, but after a while the black fillly was able to convince her. That was the moment when Scarlet noticed that Ryhme was not bad nor creepy. She may did not talk much and was kind of blunt from time to time, but besides that Rhyme was actually really nice. The little pegasus could not understand what everypony had against Rhyme just because she was part zebra. After all if you would not know it, you would not have noticed that she was a hybrid. So Scarlet decided to spend more time with the filly, even though secretly because she was still afraid how the society would respond to that.

Over time the two fillies became closer friends. Scarlet even felt so comfortable in Rhyme's near that she was the first pony Scarlet entrust her biggest scret to, a secret she kept since her birth – that even though she might been born as a stallion, she has never seen herself as one.

In a book about magic they found a little text which described that there existed indeed a spell that could change the body of a pony form male to female or vise versa, but also that only very magical unicorns or alicorns were able to make this spell work. Unfortunately there lived not many unicorns in their village and definitely no one with a high magical ability. Not to mention that Scarlet still was not ready to talk about her problems with somepony, except for Rhyme. She had to wait untill she was brave enough, but this day should come sooner than Scarlet thought...

A few weeks later Rhyme's father, Zareb, got once more in a dispute with the residents of the village what made him finally have enough of this place. He stayed with his family all the years there because his wife, Weihrauch, asked him for it because she wanted that Rhyme has conatct with her grandparents and aunt, but know he could not take the ignorance of those ponies anylonger.

A couple days later Scarlet was thinking if it would might be finally time to tell her family what was going on inside of her, now when the pony who she usally talked to was gone. (She was not mad about Rhyme, she knew what happend.) She decided to tell her parents after dinner, but to her dismay they did not accept it, especially not her father. She tried to explain him how she felt, but he shrugged it off as nonsense. What was supposed to be a peaceful conversation tuned out to be a heated argument what ended with the statement that, if Scarlet would continue pretending something to be she was not born as, she will not be longer part of the family and shall just leave. Finally knowing that her family would porbaly never support her, the pegasus grabbed all the bits she saved for emergencies und run away from home, searching for an unicorn what could give her the body she really wanted.

It took a long time but when Scarlet was 15 years old she found indeed a unicorn powerfull enough.

While Scarlet was traveling around the world and working for her dream, Rhyme's family found a place to live – a little town not so far away from the sea. There they lived more or less happy, untill Rhyme's mother died due to her illness. Rhyme was right in the middle of the renovations of her bar/poetry club when it happend. Her father later got a little alcohol problem because of the sudden lost of his beloved wife, which why Rhyme actually despises to sell alcohol, but she still does it on weekends and special events.

Overall more than 12 years passed untill Scarlet and Rhyme saw each other again.
