1967 Camaro Z28 Project car (Part 1)
So, where to begin...the idea grew out of boredom and chatting to some friends on Discord. I had this 1:18th scale Die Cast 1967 Camaro that had been sort of falling apart on the top of my dresser...I had also grown tired of the looks of it......So I ended up browsing online for tutorials and such for weathering and repainting models....I then finally decided I wanted to do an unrestored/ barn find look to my 67 Camaro Z28
So, here's as it sat, when it was on the top of my Dresser..had a scuffed up roof, chrome falling off of it...
Firstly: Disassembly,
It took a bit longer than anticipated...removing wheels from the axles was the hardest part, next to drilling out the rivets for holding the windshield in place. Once apart, I put all the tiny bits such as screws, al lteh chrome trim and other small parts in to my miniature Dashie lunchbox I jsut so happened to have on hand.
P.S. I don't think Fluttershy approved of me doing this to our beloved Camaro, seeming she's walking away....think she might be upset with me... Derpy seemed eager to help though....
Secondly: Body
I had it planned in my head of roughly what I wanted to do...repaint the interior, repaint the body to a canary yellow, give each door a different treatment, leaving one a primer colour and the other the original black...I also decided to leave the hood, although I may decide to "fade" it out a bit...Not sure yet...Trixie seems to approve though.
Thirdly: Interior
I spray bombed the entire interior with some satin-black, I then took some of my model paint and brushed on some silver piping and gave the interior some other little details, just to give it some more pop...Not the best looking but, eh...I also based the interior colours off of a picture of an actual Camaro interior I found on Google images.
Fourthly: Weathering.
To give it a used, old and un-cared for look, I got into weathering it....first things I did were the exhaust and engine....but I plan on doing the whole care eventually.
Fifthly:
The car is still nowhere near completion but I did do a bit of assembly/mock up earlier...I'll be doing some more weathing as the car gets assembled...I've actually been following some vids of Adam Savage on his Tested channel for weathering and such.
Now, Excuse me....all these paint fumes are making me woozy.... :awuh:
