Yay. Happy 2025. I was inspired by @Misty Shadow's blog post and decided to do a similar retrospective. Except I don’t really have much to look back on for 2024, it was a fairly uneventful year which honestly I’m perfectly fine with. Nothing awful happened, and nothing really amazing happened either. It was an year. So I guess I'll focus more on what I hope to get out of 2025.

G5 coming to an uneventful end was probably one of the main low lights of the year which all things considered isn’t too bad.

On the positive side, I started learning how to solder, learned basic electrical circuitry knowledge, and turned that into a decent source of income through repairing stuff. I met some fantastic folks IRL and online throughout the year. Music releases this year were also absolutely mind blowing, definitely one of the strongest years I can remember. Imaginal Disk is the single best album from this decade, so far at least. It was better than brat and I'll fight you on that. There were some great video game releases too, with Shadow of the Erdtree being (imo) the best by far. What a banger of a DLC.

We’ll see what 2025 brings. I don’t have any significant goals in mind. Maybe I’ll go to TrotCon down in Dayton later in the year. Or make plans to meet some online friends at some point. Who knows. I’ve also been checking the local wildlife sanctuary for open volunteer positions. I’d like to maybe try and volunteer there when possible. Ideally I’d like to somehow be able to get vaccinated against rabies as well so I could help handle the bats (and other rabies vector species like foxes and raccoons) they rehabilitate, but that’s a surprisingly difficult thing to get done. They really don’t want you getting the preexposure vaccine against rabies it feels like.

If I do end up volunteering I’m probably going to need a different car too since it’s a 40 minute drive to the sanctuary one way. I would be spending a ludicrous amount of money on gas with my current car driving there and back, which has been the main thing preventing me from volunteering previously. It's just too financially costly to spend $20-30+ on gas every time I'd have to drive there.

I do want to write more MLP related fanfics. Probably EAW or G5 related ones, as they’re the settings that speak to me the most. More on that, getting into off topic and controversial territory. I'll put it in a spoiler.
