Crystal Empire 2 parter: Like many I was dissapointed by King Sombra's lack of character development but still thought it was a decent episode. Twilight Sparkle confronted her fears, avoided King Sombra's traps and made the important sacrifice of possibly failing her "test" in order to ensure that the crystal heart was delivered and King Sombra was defeated.

 

Too Many Pinkie Pies: Pinkie Pie's only really memorable moment in this season sadly, Pinkie Pie learned an important lesson that even too much of a good thing can be bad.

 

One Bad Apple: This is my favorite episode involving the cutie mark crusaders it had the second best song in the series, introduced Bab's Seed who is a very interesting character with a lot of potential and did a good job of addressing the issue of bullying.

 

Magic Duel: It would be interesting to find out a bit more about the alicorn amulet, overall a decent episode and Zecora being in it automatically adds a few more cool points to it.

 

Sleepless In Ponyville: We got some of the best character development in the series from both Rainbow Dash and Scootaloo in this episode by having Rainbow Dash take an elderly sister like relationship to Scootaloo which I am eagerly awaiting to see more of in the future.

 

Wonderbolt Academy: We get more excellent character development of Rainbow Dash as she takes on the roll of the voice of reason.

 

Apple Family Reunion: Before I saw this episode I couldn't decide what was my favorite Applejack episode because every episode with AJ in it is automatically awesome but this one is my favorite AJ episode. We get a bit more background on the Apple Family without upstaging Applejack everypony in it complemented her perfectly like the spice in a good apple cider.

 

Spike at Your Service: I like Spike and this episode was okay but not as good as it could have been. Yes I get that Spike can be a doofus sometimes but does nearly moment of every episode he stars in have to revolve around that?

 

Keep Calm and Flutter On: Discord's antics were hilarious and it was great to see the ultimate troll return but him reforming so soon kind of felt a little abrupt and would have preferred that it be done after another appearance or two. I am eagerly awaiting what they decide to do with Discords character now.

 

Just for Sidekicks: Again with Spike being too much of a doofus

 

Games Ponies Play: Aside from the Discord episode this was the funniest episode of the entire season.
