To start off I will be doing a 2 parter here.

The Ghost of John Madden

22 years ago, Space hero John Madden ascended to the moon to become saviour of the universe. That very same year, John Madden disappeared without a trace, and left the world wondering "Where is John Madden?" The year is 2032. NASA has once again landed on the lunar surface with the goal of colonization, research, and further exploration. Shortly after the return to the Moon, NASA has established a small outpost on the south pole of the moon called Moonbase Alpha. Utilizing solar energy and regolith processing, the moonbase has become self-sufficient and plans for further expansion are underway.

Working on the base are six astronauts: Adam Sparks (ID:RED1), Jamie Lyons (ID:BLUE1), Elias Mendell (ID:Yellow1), Martin Cobb (ID:Pink1), David Freud (ID:Green1), Issac MacMillan (ID:White1). Today is an ordinary day just like every other. Patrol the base for anything in need of maintenance.

Issac and the rest of the crew are in the airlock, suited up and ready for another day...or night (he couldn't tell) on Moonbase Alpha. As the airlock opens, Issac instructs the rest of the crue to split up into two man teams. Issac and Jamie are team one, Elias and David are team two, Martin and Adam are team 3. "Alright, Team one, Me and Jamie, are going to check out the solar array on the south side of the base and take readings, check for malfunctions, the usual. Team two, Elias and David, I want you guys to go and make sure the tool shed is stocked and operational. We don't want another incident like friday with the missing power coupler. And last but certainly not least, team 3, Martin and Adam, I want you guys to go check out the main power generator. We still need to fix that blown fuse box. Alright, we all know what we gotta do?" Issac asks the crew aloud. They all nod and lock their helmets in place. "Alright, excellent. It's 06:00 hours. At 12:00 hours we all meet back here at the airlock for inspection. Right, let's get going." Issac Opens the airlock and the crew steps outside onto the lunar surface.

[Team 1, 06:33 hours]:

Issac and Jamie climb aboard their moon rover and drive southwards to the solar array. About halfway there, Jamie spots a bright light trailing closer to the north, off in the distance. "Hey Issac, check it out." Jamie says Pointing to the light. Issac notices this light as well and radios team 3 in the north. "Team 3, this is team 1, we have visual on a bright light moving very fast and it appears to be headed your way. Do you have a visual, over." "Negative Team 1, we aint seein' any light, over." Adam replies over the radio. Issac stares at the light, now just above the main power generator. "You guys sure? We can see it from here and it's right above you." "Negative team 1, there's nothin' out-"Team 3's radio signal is interrupted by an unknown voice that yells "Incoming Chinese earthquake, BRBRBRBRBRBRBRBRBRBRBRBRBR!" followed by a loud crash, and static. Jamie and Issac both stop the rover and look off to the north where in the distance, there is a rising wall of dust and smoke at the sight of what appears to be a crash sight. Shortly after, the ground begins to shake violently, nearly flipping team 1's rover onto it's side."Team 3 are you alright?" No answer, just static. "Team 3, this is team 1, please 'respond, over." Still no answer, just static.

Issac and Jamie immediately turn the rover around and head north towards the crash sight.

[Team 2, 06:35 hours]:

Elias and David arrive at the toolshed and begin to take inventory when suddenly, a loud crash is heard farther to the north. David and Elias exit the toolshed and are met by a wall of debris and dust, quickly rising and headed their way. The two astronauts quickly retreat to the toolshed and pick up the radio. "Team 3, this is team 2, what's your status, over?" The radio only plays static. "Shit, this is bad. Elias, we need to radio team 1 and inform them that there is an emergency." David says with a worrisome tone. Elias grabs a toolbox with 2 wrenches and a welding tool in it. "We might need this." Elias says checking the welding tool's charge. David nodded and tried the radio again."Team 3, this is team 2, please respond." Static and the sound of metal striking metal is heard. David looks to Elias and they exchange confused, worrisome expressions. "Team 1, this is team 2, we have lost all radio connections with team 3. We believe there may have been some sort of explosion near the main power generator, please respond." "Copy that team 2, we are aware of the situation and on route to the main power generator, over." "Copy that team 1." David replies. Elias moves to open the door. "Okay, David, we need to get to our rover real quick. Soon as I open this door, run to the rover, the debris may still be pushing past us." They both nod to one another and Elias opens the door, the toolbox in his left hand. The debris had passed by already and the path to the rover was clear. The two asronauts exited the tool shed and quickly started up the rover, heading farther north to the sight of the explosion.

[Teams 1 and 2, 07:03 hours]:

Both teams arrive within a minute of each other. The crash sight is a mess of burning, twisted metal heaps, and electrical wire. Where the power generator had once been, a rather small, glowing, meteorite had taken it's place. The meteorite was glowing an ominous green with green smoke piling out from inside a hollow cavity, large enough to hold one person. "Jesus Christ guys, it's a meteor." Issac says aloud to rest of the team as they look into the empty hole within the meteorite. The team crowds around the meteorite, being cautious as not to touch it."Whaddya think was in it?" Elias says to David. "Don't know, but I hope it was noth-" David is interrupted by metal clanging on metal. The team turns around to see an astronaut in an older space suit, hitting power couplers with a wrench and mumbling frantically to himself. Issac approaches the astronaut. "Woah, identify yourself stranger!" The astronaut turns around to face the team and belts out singing aloud in a thundering chorus. "John Madden...John 'Madden...I AM JOOOHHNN MMAAADDDEENNN!!!" The team gasps all at once and John Madden drops his wrench and walks closer to Issac. Issac backs up cautiously. "No, you can't be John Madden. He's been dead for 22 years! This must be moon madness." Issac yells aloud frightfully. John Madden simply turns around, picks his wrench up, and proceeds to untighten power couplers from power cables. "Woah, wait, what're ya doin'!"David says, running to John Madden. John Madden stops and turns to look David in the face. "I am trying to order a pizza. But I can't. Do you know why?" John Madden asks David. David shakes his head signaling 'no'. John Madden clenches his wrench tightly in his fist. "Because..I AM JOHN MADDEN!!!" John Madden yells as he turns and shatters David's helmet with his wrench. The pressure from the shattering helmet immediately crushes David's head, causing it to explode with the lack of gravity rushing inwards. John Maden yells aloud "LOLOLOLOLOLOL AEIOU AEIOU AEIOU!" and danced around like a maniac.

The rest of the team dashes back for the rovers and drives away to the living quarters at the center of the moonbase.

[Team 1 and Elias, 07:40 hours]:

Issac, Jamie, and Elias quickly enter the airlock of the living quarters, take off their space suits, and gather round the mission control room. "We need to call NASA and fast!" Elias suggests. Issac nods and tries to radio NASA. No response. "Damn it all! Comms are down...now what?" Issac says as he pounds his fist on the wall. Jamie shudders and backs up from the radio. "Aw man, shit. What do we do now, man? What now!?" "We keep it together and think of a plan!" Elias says to Jamie, shaking him to get Jamie to focus. Suddenly the power goes out and the only lighting left is the red, backup power flood lights that paint the darkness a scikly, rusted, blood red. The intercom turns on with a loud buzz and catches the 3 remaining astronauts by suprise. A pregnant silence lasts for a few short seconds before John Madden's voice was heard over the intercom. "Come over, come over, come over, come over and get killed by John Madden!" Out of nowhere, John Madden bursts through the ceiling and turns to face the three petrified astronauts. John Madden walks closer to Jamie who freezes up in place, unable to move."Jamie, get away from him!" Issac yells aloud, pushing Elias back and backing away from John Madden. John Madden grabs Jamie by neck and Jamie starts struggling to get free. John Madden begins to walk with Jamie towards the air lock blast doors. John Madden looks Jamie dead in the face and starts to sing "I throw my hands up in the air sometimes, singing ayoh, I'm in space-o!" Then John Madden throws Jamie into the air lock, presses the 'open' button, and Jamie is launched out out the airlock without his space suit, freezing him instantly. Issac and Elias watch from the window in terror as Jamie's frozen corpse floats away into the void of space. John Madden walks over to a table in the middle of the room and picks up a permanant marker. Then he faces Issac and Elias, and draws a smiley face on his helmet's visor. "Smile!" he says aloud. Immediately, Issac and Elias run away in terror. They both run in two seperate directions, splitting up by mistake. John Madden then began to persue Elias.

[Elias' helmet camera, 08:09 hours]:

Elias ran to the sleeping quarters and hid under his bed, trying to think of a plan to escape. After hiding there for a few minutes, he hears the voice of John Madden just down the hall, heading his way. As John Madden got closer, Elias could hear him singing aloud "Scooby-dooby-doo, where are you?" Elias panicked a little on the inside and tried his hardest to stay calm and quiet. Then, John Madden enters the sleeping quarters and Elias holds his breath, and prays to god for mercy. John Madden proceeded to sneak around the sleeping quarters, singing even louder."Spooky, scary, skelingtons, send shivers down your spine." John Madden gives up his search and begins to exit the room. Just as he walks completely out the door, Elias exhales and starts to breathe again. Suddenly, John Madden enters the room again and Elias inhales sharply, holding his breath again. John Madden walks closer, and closer to Elias' hiding place beneath his bed, and stops infront of the bed. Elias is dead silent. John Madden pulls Elias out from beneath the bed in a movement that was quick as lightning and stares Elias dead in the face."UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!" Elias screams with fright as John Madden pins Elias against the wall and proceeds to gut him with his wrench. When it is over, and Elias has stopped moving, stopped breathing, John Madden drops the eviscerated corpse on the bed and walks out the door, bloody wrench clenched tightly in his fist.

[issac's helmet camera, 09:14 hours]:

Issac hid away in the isolation room used to detain rogue astronauts suffering with moon madness. He curled up in the corner and ran his hand through his hair, mumbling to himself. "It's just moon madness. It's just moon madness. It's just moon-" Suddenly John Madden's voice is heard outside the isolation room. "SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS, I am a snake. SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS." "Go away! Fuck you! You're not real! It's just moon madness!" Issac began screaming at John Madden from inside the isolation room. A few seconds of silence were followed by John Madden's voice. "Moon Madness?" John Madden opens the door to the isolation chamber and walks closer to Issac, very slowly. "That's right asshole...Moon Madness!" Issac screams at the top of his lungs as he stands, a wrench in his hand. Issac charges at John Madden and strikes him in the helmet. John Madden's speach function malfunctions, causing his vocie to be riddled with ear splitting static and BSOD-esque intensity. "This voice is 2 spooky 4 U" He says followed by "AeiouAeiouAeiou." Issac's ears had begun to bleed and he could not stand the sound any longer. Without any other option but suicide, Issac stuffs his wrench down his throat, choking himself to death. John Madden laughs loudly "LOLOOLOELELEOELOELEOEL!!!" and exits the room.

[John Madden's helmet camera, 11:59 hours]:

John Madden is sitting in a moon rover, doing donuts on the lunar terrain. On the way out of the moon base, John Madden had stopped in the mission control room and rigged the moon base to explode at exactly 12:00 hours."Weeeeeeeeee, wubwubwubwubwubwub, weeeeeeee-" John Madden and his rover are launched into space by the explosion. John Madden sits happily in his rover as it rides the shockwave of the explosion on a crash course for earth. "The Moons is dying. Ha! Screw you NASA, who needs a rocket?" he says with a hearty"LLLOLOLOLEOLELLOLEOWUBWUWBWUWBWLOWLEODLEOWBBRBRBRARERARARARAEIOUAEIOUAEIOUAEIOUAEIOUAEIOU!!!"

THE END...? (Probably not)

Heard Voices

"Okay Tim, we're going to go over this again." Detective Clive Lowns said with a sigh as Tim shifted uncomfortably in his chair. "Your Name is Timothy Lloyd Scott, can you remember that?" Tim nods slowly, almost hesitantly. "Okay, can you tell me how old you are? Do you remember, Mr. Scott?" Tim shrinks a bit into his chair at the sound of an Air Conditioning unit being switched on in an air vent above him, and begins to speak slowly, steadily, but with a sense of uncertainty. "My name is Tim. I am fourteen years old." "No, Tim. You were fourteen years old when it happened, but that was three months ago and you turned fifteen a week ago. Jesus, you're like a psycho brick wall only stupider." "I am, Detective?" Detective Lowns sighs aloud again, fishing a pack of Winston 100's from his coat pocket. "Let's just stay on target Mr. Scott. Okay, do you remember what you did three months ago? On the Eighteenth? Do you even remember what month was three months from now? Talk to me Mr. Scott." Tim studies Detective Lowns' gesticulations with mild interest and slowly starts to copy the hand motions of lighting a cigarette, just as Detective Lowns lights his cigarette. Lowns notices this little game of 'monkey see-monkey do' but ignores it, awaiting a response.

"Well," Tim begins "I know that three months ago it was May and that this month is August. I also want to assure you that I do in fact remember what I did. One does not simply forget something like that. No one human anyway." "Then why do you keep pretending to forget, Tim?" Detective Lowns says with a tone that carries a detectable air of frustration. His expression is one of mild discomfort, but mostly angry. Tim returns Detective Lowns' expression with one of his own, a smug little grin that looks down right evil. "Now who in the right mind, Detective Lowns, would want to remember, let alone not try to forget doing what I did? It's a coping mechanism, and as long as I can convince myself I don't know why I'm here, I can keep myself miserably sane for another day." Detective Lowns frowns and checks his watch simply to kill time. He certainly wasn't going anywhere any time soon, and neither was Tim. "Fine then, you creepy little fuck, again, describe in full detail...or at least enough detail, what you did, and why you are here." Tim went to grab a tissue from the tissue box on the Metal table in between him and Detective Lowns, but quickly remembered his restraints and ended up having to hold his sneeze. It burned a bit at the back of his throat and nasal cavity, but it did not bother him.

Tim closed his eyes and smiled warmly as the smell of fresh spring grass filled his thoughts. "Ah, yes, it was just an average day too. I was living in an older home just a block from the cul-de-sac by the bridge. It was a beautiful house. So many places to hide and to look around in. Me and my 3 sisters, we used to play a lot of hide and seek. At the time, I had been living there for just under a year, made plenty of friends at the school nearby, learned the secret spots in the woods by the school where the other kids would go to smoke and do whatever else they weren't supposed to. There was an old bell out there stuck in the mud. This huge brass bell, looked like it came from a church bell tower or something. Lots of kids would write bad words on it, or draw swastikas or other stupid shit like most idiots in eighth grade do. But back to the house. It was a nice and very warm place, the house. However, about a week after moving in, my dreams started to get consistently strange. Not scary strange, but odd enough that sitting down and analyzing what I could remember about the dreams assured me that there was something wrong with me. I tried telling my mom and dad, even my 3 little sisters, about the dreams but they said they were just night terrors and that they would pass."

Tim chuckles quietly almost sadly to himself and stares down at the floor. "They never did stop. It's better now though. I don't even dream anymore. Anyway, the dreams were weird mostly because they had a lot to do with one another. Almost like, they would start from where the last one left off, you know? Like, almost like they were connected and what I did in them was real. And that's what I believed after a month of the dreams, that they were real. So months came and passed, the dreams continued on, but the only important things I can recall about them is that it seemed like I was always looking for something. Never did find out what though." Tim picks his head up as Detective Lowns stamps out his cigarette butt in the ash tray right by the box of tissues. "Look, I am not a therapist, or a counselor, or a shrink. Tell me more about what you did besides have weird dreams, Tim. How about school? Anybody bully you, or anyone you had any crushes on or anything like that? I need to know this stuff in order to make an accurate report so that the doctors and shrinks and counselors who can deal with you will tell me I never have to see you again." "Right now, the only person bullying me is you, detective." Tim said raising his voice above Detective Lowns' so that Lowns would shut up and listen.

Tim cleared his throat and continued to describe the events that lead to his institutionalization.

"Yeah, there was one kid who bullied me. His name was Terrance. He stopped bullying me after his dad died." "His dad died? Do you know anything about that, Tim?" Detective Lowns asked inquisitively. "A little bit. I know that Terrance's dad was like driving home drunk or something after a fight with Terrance's mom. He got pulled over by a cop, the cop asked for his license and registration, and Terrance's dad drove off and crashed into a lake and died." Tim frowned and stared down at the floor. "Yes, I remember reading about that in the news." Detective Lowns said as he lit another cigarette. "Why do you think this kid, Terrance, stopped bullying you after that? Too sad to care anymore?" Tim grinned a wide grin and lifted his head to face Detective Lowns. "No, because Terrance killed himself. He took the gun his dad kept in his parent's closet, and shot himself. I don't get why though. Not like his dad even cared about him." Tim said aloud followed by a chuckle. Detective Lowns cringed and took a long, contemplative drag from his cigarette. "Christ kid, you are a creepy little...damn you're creepy." Detective Lowns said with a shudder. "Enough about this Terrance kid. What about your friends? Did you have any friends?"

"I had a small group of friends, mostly the kids who would sit around and smoke. You know, stoners." Tim began, but was interrupted by Detective Lowns. "You hung out with pot heads? Did you ever smoke?" "Cigarettes? No. Pot, yes. It sometimes kept the dreams away. But mostly it just kept me feeling nice and light. Nothing big." Detective Lowns jotted a few things down on a notepad and gestured Tim to keep talking. "So, yeah that's who I hung out with. We usually just sat in the woods by the bell and smoked and talked about school. Mostly our grades and what classes we were failing, what teachers we hated or thought were good looking." "Hold on a second. I don't get you. You seem like a pretty normal pot head teenager. How did you go from dope to blood?" Lowns asked with an angry tone. "Hang on, I'm getting there." Tim said, clearing his throat.

"So, back to the house. I swear to you, there is something very wrong with that house." "Wrong how?" Detective Lowns asked. "Wrong, like, voices and shit. Coming from inside the walls and under the floor, and in the ceiling. All the time, these voices." Tim began to chew on his lower lip. "Voices, Tim? What kinds of voices? What were they saying?" Tim bit down harder, drawing a little blood, and upon tasting the coppery taste, he released his grip. "They were like, scary voices. Like from a horror movie. Whispers and screams. All the time and it was driving me insane. They, they kept telling me...telling me, they were coming to get me in my dreams. So, I did everything to try and not dream. Nothing worked, I knew it too, I was losing it. This continued day in and day out for almost a year. Only time I couldn't hear them was at school, or when I wasn't in the house so I was always trying to stay away from my family, and from that house."

"Okay...did the voices ever, I don't know, 'get you'?" Detective Lowns asked Tim, wresting his head in his hands. "Well, no. I wouldn't let them. I tried to tell everyone about them and it just made me lose my friends. It made teachers send me to guidance counselors. I got drug tested and they sent me to a four hours anti-drug class and gave me ten days out of school suspension." "When was this?" Lowns asked. "About a week before the eighteenth." "Okay. Continue please."

"Right, so, about a week before the eighteenth, I had a dream where my youngest sister came in my dream and was being dissected, man. Dissected by these inky, black, shadow things. I don't know, they were like cliché horror flick monsters. But, after the dream I got real scared for my sisters so I stayed in the house more and the voices kept on saying shit like 'Oh, we're going to get you and your baby sisters!' or 'Kill them Tim, before we do!' and it got really, really freaky and my parents were really scared and they were going to send me to get help from a shrink or something like that." Lowns coughed and it caught Tim's attention, throwing him off track. "Did you ever see the shrink, Tim?" Tim continued to speak. "No, my first appointment wasn't until June." "What happened next?"

"Well, the very last part is the murder. By the end of the week I had gotten at best 5 hours of sleep and restless sleep at that. I guess I did what I did, because my brain was tired and I was paranoid. It was Saturday night. The voices were all screaming and raging, not from beyond the walls, but from inside my skull. My head hurt so bad. They were yelling, screaming, 'We're going to kill them all!' so I went to the kitchen, grabbed a big knife, and sat in the corner by the dish washer, listening to the dish washer. Anything to drown out the voices. My dad must have heard me clambering about in the kitchen because he came out of his room, down the stairs and into the kitchen. At first I didn't see him. But, when I did, he startled me and I freaked out and ran from him with the knife in my hands. I guess I woke my sister up because I ran into her. My littlest sister. Stabbed her right in the chest and she immediately started crying. She just started screaming and crying and smearing her blood on the walls and I freaked out and I was crying too, I didn't know what I just did. My dad was all freaked out too, must have thought I stabbed her on purpose. He advanced toward me with this scared, angry look on his face, all cautious like. He was saying 'Don't be sacred son, you need help. Serious help. We can fix this, just, hand me the knife son.' But, when he got closer, he grabbed me real tight by the waist, and I freaked out again. I...I stabbed him in the arm. By this time, my little sister had stopped crying and I knew she had bled out. She was dead. My dad was screaming and everyone woke up and was in the living room. All of them, crying and screaming. My little sister, lying there dead. My dad, screaming and bleeding. My mom came out me with a rolling pin, she was trying to knock me out, and...I wish she had. Next I took the oldest of my little sisters and put the knife to her throat to keep my mom away from me. My mom didn't stop...she just...kept running at me. So I stuck the knife out and stabbed her in the stomach and she fell back screaming like my dad was. He was unconscious from losing too much blood at the time. My little sisters...they had such fear in their eyes and I was so scared. I dropped the knife, and hid myself in my closet. Then I heard the door open and I freaked out, grabbed my baseball bat from the closet I was hiding in, and waited. After a minute of just quiet crying, I was unsure if it was me or someone else, the closet door opened and it was my little sister who I had just taken hostage. She held her hand out to me and said 'Timmy, you need help. Why are you doing this? Why, Tim, why?' and I thought real hard on it...'why"...and then the answer came to me. Very clear. Because the voices said that if I don't kill them, they will."

Detective Lowns was sitting on the edge of his seat, choking down breaths of air as a cool sweat ran down his neck. "Then what happened Mr. Scott?" Tim smiled a wide cheeky grin. "I killed them of course. I took my sister's hand and pulled her to the ground, and bashed her skull to bits with the bat. I remember the smell, the sound of her skull cracking open like a walnut...invigorating. Then my dad, I stuffed a towel down his throat, he choked to death. My mom had called the police while I was hiding in the closet, so I never got to killing her or my remaining sister. The cops came in, I got tazed, maced, and restrained. They threw me in the back of the squad car, and sent me to court a few days after. I was able to plead insanity and, well, here I am 3 months later, talking to you about it. I'm glad the cops came when they did. I never want to be out of this straight jacket again. What I did...I'm a freak Detective Lowns. I belong here." Tim said as his smile faded. "But I do miss that smell..." "What smell, Tim?" "Fresh spring grass."
