Shadow of the colossus or SOTC for short is a action,adventure puzzle game for ps2 and has a collector edition on ps3. The game is very popular and well revived by critics and now its my turn to say what i think here we go.

A man named wander and his trusty horse Agro journey to the forbidden land to save a woman from staying dead. they talk to a sprite named dormin who tell,s wander he must slay 16 colossus so dormin can bring her back but upon completion of the task he will face a consequence wander is aware of this and agrees and thus are game begins from here on in there are no more cut scenes until the end except for boss intros and one scene near the end!

Sotc has 2 main game play types 1 search where you ride on your horse looking for each colossus by pointing your sword in the air it glows brighter the closer you are to the colossus location. When you find one of the 16 fights after the colossus intro cut scene you move into the second type of game play the puzzle fighting each colossus is special and you have to figure out how to kill it. The colossus is the puzzle so how does this work you hold your sword up and it will show the monsters glowing weak points then you must find out how to climb on the monster to stab all the weak points till the colossus dies but be careful because you have a grip gauge in the bottom right of the screen and if it runs out you fall off. now after you kill each colossus the grip gauge gets bigger also you can look for lizards and shoot them with your bow is you kill a lizard you grip gauge increase,s as well! The controls get some getting used to but they are good.

There are alot of good things for example each colossus is different and is good not only in its design but also its game play.You are also always on your toes trying to figure out how to kill each colossus to the point where it would be bad to look up how because it would ruin the point of the game. This is one of the best looking ps2 games out there. Now game play is always more important then graphics but if a game has good graphics it better helps immerse you into the games world and even tho now a days this game does not compare that well to modern games it still holds up pretty well and was very impressive for its time it was at the end of the ps2 era giving a sneak peek of what the ps3 would be capable of!

final good thing is the music is very well done and is programed to change once the game knows that you are succeeding at beating the colossus which is a really nice touch.

There is not much bad to speak of the only nit pick i can think of is it can sometimes be hard to find some colossus because of cretin obstacles making

you take detours.

Shadow of the colossus is a masterpiece great for its time and still good now with great game play and graphics aswell as great creature design and expansive environments. with a original concept of climbing the colossus i give shadow of the colossus a 5/5 and my personal Creature design seal of approval.

this is a game every gamer should give a chance! And as the tagline says

Some mountains are meant to be climbed and

some are meant to be slain!
