• Physical Description

  Bubbling Shine is a male peach colored unicorn. His hair is soft, medium length, and swirls around his horn. His bangs are lightly colored with light yellow accents. His tail is quite large and fluffy with similar colors. His hair is not always consistent, due to it depending on the lighting of what room he is in. Sometimes, his hair may appear darker or lighter, more pink or more peach.
  He has bright blue eyes with dark blue eyelashes, he has two downwards curved eyelashes at the top sides of his eyes. He wears blue glasses with a gradient of grey. Bubbling Shine wears a pink bow around his neck with long ribbons. 
  His cutiemark is a light rose colored heart with two melting streaks at the bottom corner, two baby pink hearts at the top corner of the main image, with the skull of a monster in the middle of the heart.

  Despite being male, it may be easy to mistake him for female due to his build not being as stocky as most stallions, in addition to his eyelashes.

  When wearing clothes of any kind, he will wear clothes with the following colors:

  -baby pink

  -peach

  -rose

  -light pink

  -off white

  -light orange.

  Bubbling Shine does not appear wearing clothes in most art.

  

• Backstory

  Bubbling Shine, sometimes referred to as Bubbling Shimmer was born in Manehattan before moving to Canterlot as foal. He used to explore caves out of an interest in archeology, but when investigating the nearby caves he came across a large monster. He was unsure of what the creature was, but was not afraid. He found himself curious but cautious. He felt an unexplainable curiosity towards this being, leading him to run home to tell his family.

  They thought Bubbly was simply exaggerating. After all, this is a new home with new types of ponies… But Bubbling Shine was insistent that what he saw was not anything like him. For weeks on end, he would go back to the cave to study this creature. His observant studies earned him his cutie mark, as well as the interest of a nearby librarian.

  He doesn’t quite remember her name, but she gave him his first book. A book of extinct monsters that used to roam this land long ago. Bubbly felt disappointed that they no longer were around… So he made it his mission to find any left living.

  Bubbling Shine ended up studying and majoring in Hippology. He became a professional historian, settling down in his own comfortable home in Canterlot where he can see many new creatures every day.

• Personality

  Bubbling Shine is very curious, he is playful despite his quiet demeanor. He often trots in place when excited talking about the things that he loves. He is cautious when approaching new situations, but will jump head on when faced with an opportunity to expand his knowledge. Bubbling chooses his words carefully, always thinking before speaking. When he becomes panicked, he will not be able to organize his thoughts. While stressed out he may be very blunt and seem rude. He does this so he is able to express his thoughts clearly, despite having trouble keeping things together.

  While he is often sweet, nice, and playful he may come across as antagonistic towards others he dislikes. He can quickly become snobby unintentionally when he sees somepony as “below” him or his standards. Bubbling Shine doesn’t try to put other ponies down, however he will naturally do so if he dislikes them.

  Despite being critical towards others he sees as lower standard than him, he easily breaks when he feels the pressure of stooping to the same level. He feels a need to always keep up a good appearance and seem perfect. Usually, he does keep the appearance of being put together, but whenever his looks or career is taken into question he becomes rather defensive and crumbles.

  Bubbling loves the nickname Bubbles or Bubbling! He is occasionally called Shin. While both a shortened version of Shine it also means “heart” or “true.” He mainly prefers everypony to call him Bubbling though. Other nickname is Ling, but that is reserved for his family.
