  1. Starshy nodded, leaning into his side embrace. She didn't know what else to say really about the family situation. However, another topic came to mind that she felt she should address. Her green eyes turned upward to look at Chocolate.

" Well, I wrote my letter to the University of Fillydelphia the other night. I'll be sending it off tomorrow at the latest. They're usually fairly quick with replies so we'll find out soon if I get accepted. "

  2. Starshy nodded, closing the door behind her. " Yes, I'm sure. " She said while trotting into the living room. She sat down on the couch and invited Chocolate to join her.

She leaned back against the couch, sighing. " If you think that I hate your family.. I don't. I'm just disappointed. It was rather heartbreaking to hear them say what they did. I just wish things had gone differently. "

  3. Starshy had thought to walk back home by herself, but when he had offered to come with her, she didn't say anything.

They went back to her house in silence. What had happened today had been a huge let down. Somehow in the back of her mind, she'd had this silly fantasy that his family would see past the fact she was a unicorn and actually accept her because she loved Chocolate so dearly. However, it sadly reminded a fantasy. She was at least happy to know that Chocolate wouldn't leave her.

Once they got to her house, he turned to leave. She lifted her front right leg up, saying, " Wait, Chocolate.. would you like to come inside? "

  4. She sniffled quietly, giving herself a minute to calm down. As he spoke, she could feel herself relaxing. She seemed to have stopped crying, wiping away a few last reminding tears with her hooves.

Starshy nuzzled him back. " Thank you, Chocolate. I feel much better now.. but I think I'll be heading home now. "

  5. The unicorn mare stopped in her tracks as she heard Chocolate following after her. His stride was much bigger than hers, and he literally towered over her. She bowed her head, tears falling onto the floor. " ..I'm sorry, Chocolate. I couldn't.. " She tried to explain her reason for running out like that, but then did she really need to?

" They hate me.. they'll never want me to be part of the family.. " She swallowed heavily, feeling defeated.

  6. Starshy was silent as the words between his family were exchanged. There was a lump in her throat that was growing from the things being said. They sure knew how to crush a ponies self esteem in just a few short minutes. Everything that she had convinced herself before she had walked inside - that she's a good mare and it didn't matter that she was born a unicorn - flew out the window so to speak.

She had to pick herself back up though. She couldn't cry in front of his family, but the tears were already forming. " ...I love him. Chocolate has been the kindest stallion. More so than other stallions that I've met. He's accepted me for me - never judging me because I have the ability to use magic.

I'd like to have your acceptance of me, but obviously that's not the case here. You judge me about you even know m-m-me.." She choked on her last words, as the tears slide down her face. She stepped out of Chocolate's embrace and turned on her hoof, trotting out of the house and planning on getting as far away from the farm as possible.

  7. Starshy waited outside while Chocolate went in and spoke to his family. She poked at the ground with her hoof, once again trying to get a control on her nerves.

"Everyone, I'd like you to meet, Starshy."

That's my cue.. she thought to herself and slowly walked into the house. She felt goosebumps raising on her legs as she felt the eyes of his family on her and her horn, there were a few of them seemed glued to it as though she had two. The was a collective whisper amongst them. She felt horribly shy suddenly, moving closer to Chocolate.

  8. Starshy felt herself flush at his words, knowing what he was referring to. She took a deep breathe to ready herself.

Don't be scared.. Don't be scared.. Chocolate is right beside you.. whispered her inner thoughts to try and calm her nerves.

She nodded up at Chocolate, glancing at his home. She knew beyond those doors would be his folks. She nibbled on her lower lip just thinking about what they'd say. She knew, much like Chocolate had, they'd be staring at her horn. All those she had encountered on this farm had looked at it. She couldn't help that it was there.

Her ability to use magic was as much a part of her as her mane. This is who she is. Both of her parents are also unicorns, so it would seem as obvious as day that she'd turn out to be a unicorn herself. It was no different than the fact that Chocolate was born an earth pony.

She had to remind herself of this and it seemed to ease her nerves considerably.

    " Let's go. "

  9. Starshy considered his words as she leaned against his body. It sounded so important to him, as it was for her too. She was admittedly a little nervous but it made her so happy to know that he wanted their relationship to grow even further. They had already taken a huge step so it only seemed like the right thing to do.

" Alright, well, let's go meet them now then. It's now or never, right? " She looked up at him, offering a smile.

  10. She swallowed heavily at his words about meeting his parents. She was a little nervous, but she'd do it for him. " Do you want me to meet them now? " She inquired, looking up to the sight of his back to her. Her eyes trailed down his long back and to his behind. She blushed a bit realizing she was staring at it.

Her ears flopped back, moving her gaze down to look at her hoofs. " ..Because I will if you want me to. "

  11. Starshy welcomed the cool towel on her face, letting him wipe away the sweat from it. " I thought maybe I could try it without.. " She mumbled.

As he spoke, sounding so sincere, she had to believe him. Maybe she could cast aside all the worries she'd had earlier. He'd make them understand, she hoped. No, together they would make them see that she was a good mare and just because she was born a unicorn doesn't make her a bad pony.

" I know that... I just get hesitant using it around here at the farm. I'll try not to let it get to me so much.. " She looked down, sighing a bit.

  12. Starshy felt her legs shaking under her after they had finished all the work. She had used her magic for a few things here and there, but had also tried to help without it as well. It had been a struggle, yet she was able to get it done regardless.

Her clothes were dirtied from the hard work, and feeling rather uncomfortable.

The expression on her face, that she hadn't know was there, had caused Chocolate to ask a question.

She sat herself down, giving herself a moment to breathe. She lifted a hoof to wipe away the sweat from her forehead. "I'm alright, Chocolate.. just tired.. "

  13. As she worked, she noticed that Carmel was rather distant from her. Not that it really bothered her or anything. She had a thought to give him an extra tail or something like that just freak him out. However, she thought better of it, and continued with her work.

The sound of a familiar voice came to her ears, and she turned her head to see Chocolate approaching them. A smile appeared on her face, happy to see him.

She watched as he spoke with his brother, whispering to him not to say anything to the family. Her eyes turned away from them. This was certainly a problem... how would she ever be able to marry Chocolate one day, if she so had the desire to, would they be able to without his family's blessing? Would he leave her if they didn't approve?

All the worries going though her mind was starting to make her stomach hurt.

When she heard Chocolate addressing her, she looked up at him. " I'm alright, still a little sore here and there.. and no, he didn't. He was a lot friendlier than your cousin."

  14. Starshy frowned, even though she knew he couldn't see her face. " Oh, I know very well that your family doesn't like me. Chocolate told me that, and your cousin certainly made sure to tell me off last I was here."

She sighed, wondering if was really a good idea. Even though she wanted to prove that she was strong, the fear of being caught by their father was rather daunting.

I hope Chocolate gets out here soon.. I thought he was usually an early bird, or stallion rather. She thought to herself as she got to work.

  15. Starshy was nervous as she approached the gate, especially upon noticing some pony else was waiting by it. It was almost as though he had been excepting her. She wondered who this stallion might be, perhaps his younger brother?

She gave a small timid nod to his question. She didn't know what to think, he seemed friendly enough - certainly moreso than that other pony she came across before.

Her nervousness was soon replaced with relief that he wasn't judging her yet . That was good news.

As he was looking at her horn, making her feel a smudge self conscious, her green eyes suddenly flashed with annoyance at his words.

"I'm hard working just like any other pony. I wouldn't use my magic if that would help prove I'm capable." She said, her head titling to the side.

    "And my name is Starshy."

  16. Starshy finished the rest of the letter by evening. It was already dark out when she glanced out the window from her bedroom. She had had to spend a lot of time thinking, correcting, and editing her letter.

With a small sigh, she placed the letter into an envelope and set it by her bedside table. Crawling into her sheets, she quickly fell asleep.

    ---

The next morning, Starshy awoke fairly early. She hopped out of the bed and went about her morning routine. She took a shower, brushed her mane/tail, dried them magically (and styled them as well with magic), dressed into a light pink sweater and dark brown/nougat colored skirt. The clothing rid her bruises well, so no pony would notice.

After she was done getting ready, she left her house and made her way to Chocolate's farm. She was a bit nervous to see many of his family before him and hopefully they wouldn't give her any trouble.

The morning breeze felt good in Starshy's mane as she went along in a slow trot.

  17. Starshy slept a bit after Chocolate had left. She didn't realize just how tired she really was. Could she possibly do it again, if this was always the outcome? The unicorn mare was not sure but she knew one thing - it wouldn't be for a long time she imagined.

After having a decent nap, Starshy was able to move around a little and get a few things done around the house. Although she went about it slowly it was at least getting done.

By midafternoon, she was considering going over to Sugarcube Corner.  But how could she face Ms. Cake and Mr. Cake? What would they say about her bruises? She couldn't exactly hide them - they were fairly visible no thanks to her white coat. She could wear something to cover them up yet she wasn't one to wear things usually.

Instead, she settled on putting together her letter for the university of fillydelphia - to get a start on it. She went upstairs to her bedroom, where she sat upon the bed with her head resting against the pillows. She used magic to get a piece of parchment and a quill to write with. Once they were floating in front of her, the quill began to move on the parchment, writing out what she was saying.

  18. Starshy nodded at him, getting herself comfortable. She had a feeling that even though he said he was going to support her, he didn't really want her to leave.

"See you later, Chocolate" she said as he headed for the door.

Once she was alone again, she yawned and stretched out on the couch.

  19. Star had a feeling he was going to hesitate about her going. It wasn't as though she wanted to leave him, but it would be a good experience for her.

" Well, I still have to write them an letter to see if they'll even accept me. I'm not going to head off to either place unless I know for sure that they'll have me as a student. "

She used her magic again to levitate the cup of tea so that she could take a sip. It was a bit cold from sitting on the table, but she drank some anyway. Putting the cup down, she levitated up the plate of food that he made her and ate a bit of it.

  20. Starshy nodded. " Yes, I realize this. However, since we aren't married or having foals anytime soon it would be best time for me to go. There is still so much more for me to learn about magic. I could even become something great, like a nurse. I mean, who knows.. "

She paused a moment, feeling like this was the best course of action. Even though she had been disappointed about before, it was turning out to be a blessing in disguise.

" I can keep in touch with you though letters. I'll also come back during holiday breaks. It's not going to be forever.. " She explained, leaning back into the couch.

  21. When Chocolate returned from the kitchen, Starshy pulled herself up slightly into a sitting position. Her eyes looked down at the plate of food he bought, and then he left again to refill her tea.

After he was done with that, he sat next to her, and she made sure to curl her legs in to give him more room. There was a silence that followed, and Starshy wanted to speak up to tell him her idea but he said something first.

    " Please don't hate me.. "

She opened her mouth just a tad, but then he spoke up again. She closed it and let him say what he needed to.

"You are the greatest thing to happen to me and I feel like I'm losing you."

"Even if you can't forgive me now, I hope you will sometime in the future."

Starshy shook her head. " I don't hate you, Chocolate. I never could. You aren't loosing me either, I still love you very much. " She said, smiling gently.

" But there's something I want to tell you though.." She nibbled on her lower lip of her muzzle before continuing. " I think that I'm going to enroll in a university, perhaps the one in Fillydelphia or Baltimare. Whatever one has a better magic program. "

  22. Starshy laid down on the couch, resting her head upon a pillow as Chocolate wandered into her kitchen. She wondered to herself as she lay there if she could heal herself, like she had the ability to do with other ponies. Although they were just bruises, not a broken bone. She knew many spells of the basic magic that all unicorns learn; how to levitate object, how to make objects move, etc. Although there were still many spells, advanced ones at that, which Starshy didn't know how to do. Age spells, for example. Perhaps she could attend a school somewhere in Equestria to learn more.

The idea of going to school sounded intriguing to her. Since she and Chocolate were not going to be married or even have any children anytime soon, it would probably be a good idea. Education is certainly important to her parents, she did have some money put away; both from working at Sugarcube Corner and a hefty sum given to her from her mother and father. She could definitely pay for it. The more that she thought about it, the more she liked it.

Although, she wasn't sure how Chocolate would take it. Going to school would mean she'd have to be away for some time.

  23. Starshy wanted to tug the blanket back but let him take it. There were a few bruises on her body, ones she hadn't noticed forming till last night as she tried to sleep. He had been a bit rougher with her than she excepted. At the time it was all in the moment and it hadn't hurt then. Now, however, it was different.

She covered what she could of herself with her hooves, feeling self-conscious.  " No, I haven't eaten anything yet.. just made myself tea. "

  24. Starshy was sniffling a bit as she cried, unaware that Chocolate had moved over. She then felt him embracing her with his larger body, speaking in a soft voice.

She wanted to trust his words so much, he sounded sincere. Starshy hoped that he was a type of stallion that kept to his word. She lifted her head slightly after she had a moment to calm herself.

What he said next gave her a small joy as well as nervousness. What would his folks think of her? So many scenarios ran though her head as she sat there.

" Okay, but not today. I'm a mess.. your parents wouldn't approve of me if they saw me like this. " She mumbled, lowering her head again.
