  1. I had no idea about that, might have to finally look into getting a PS3 I knew MS did that with a few games on XBLA, oh, the hours of fun I've had with Perfect Dark, since... Cheers for the heads up!
  2. True, looking back on it I'd much rather do that... however I was about twelve at the time with the world's shortest attention span I'd love to find a PSone somewhere and replay all the games I had. Legend of Dragoon was another fun one, I think I quit in frustration somewhere fairly late in the game on some boss fight or other. Actually, more recently, Broodmother from Dragon Age: Origins gave me a little bit of trouble on my first playthrough. I went in without any health potions and a TV may have ended up broken as a result a couple of frustrating hours later... :/
  3. That I can remember, probably Psycho Mantis in the original Metal Gear Solid (PSone). Until I figured out the controller method.
  4. Definitely "Metropolis Part 1" from Images and Words, then the entire album "Metropolis Part 2: Scenes From A Memory". Particularly "The Dance of Eternity". Brilliant stuff.
  5. For the most part, the themes have probably been getting a little bit heavier. I've got no complaints, since there's been some fantastic character development... The revelation of AJ's parents being dead was particularly strong for me. I don't really see a problem with 'darker' themes... it is a kids' TV show first and foremost, and I for one would much rather the show have some substance to it, rather than be utter (excuse my language) shit like what seems to be the vast majority of kids' TV these days (in Australia at least. There's some absolute rubbish out there -_-).
  6. No, they aren't for the most part. I know for a fact that I spring to the word "gay" as a default description for anything I don't like. Which is a really bad habit that I got into over the years. Like other have stated, it's also the fact that people don't understand it. I was one of them, until I actually sat down and watched the show. People on the whole just need to be more open minded, and not knock things until they've tried them.
  7. I don't usually deathcore, but the new Thy Art Is Murder album is kickass! If you like heavy music, give it a listen :)

  8. I'm very tempted to say Ocarina of Time, but that would just be too cliche (It is a fantastic game, though.) I'd probably have to say Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. It had everything... amazing graphics for the time (I had to upgrade my graphics card for the sole purpose of playing it), great voice acting, awesome characters, and the story was just fantastic. It also opened my mind to the entire Expanded Universe of Star Wars, too, and almost redefined the term "RPG" to me. I still compare games to it, even now xD If anyone's a Star Wars fan, and hasn't played it... do it. It was recently re-released on Steam too, so you don't have to worry about compatibility issues, either. Which is nice
  9. What style of music do you enjoy listening to the most? My advice would be, don't *try* to focus on anything - write what comes naturally to you at the time. Some days, I'll really feel like making an aggressive EBM track, when others, all I ever want to do is play a laid-back guitar solo. It's all about capturing what you feel at the time
  10. I don't mind the 13-episode format, really. ...kinda sums it up for me, really. Plus I don't really mind personally that there's a longer wait between seasons. I can watch the older episodes (and indeed season 3) over and over again without it getting boring
  11. Was giving this a spin today, fantastically vicious piece of metal http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uWKLN6boesU Any other slam/brutal death fans out there? Also, anyone into technical music/technical death metal/grindcore/weird vocals should check these guys out. A Million Dead Birds Laughing are probably one of my favourite Australian bands at the moment, awesome dudes too http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l1ZAK-6wlNY Enjoy, metalheads!
  12. I don't see why he shouldn't, to be honest. Although, I'd probably say nothing more than a cameo role, similar to what the creators of Metalocalypse do within that show (ie, incidental characters). It would be awesome to see members of the community get involved in the actual show, and (don't quote me on this) I think I remember reading somewhere that it's an avenue that the producers are willing to explore.
  13. I've been told that I can, and I don't think I'm too bad at holding a single note. When it comes to singing an actual tune, I dunno, though. Being a smoker (up until recently, a fairly heavy smoker) doesn't really help either. But I can carry a tune well enough to get the point across My preferred style of vocals is more along the lines of death metal, I've been trying to learn how to do extreme gutturals lately, and they're really hard (think Abominable Putridity, Devourment, etc). I can do a regular death metal growl pretty well, but the "gurgling" style still somewhat escapes me xD
  14. Man, you're never too old to create music, or to learn how to play an instrument for that matter. I didn't start taking guitar seriously until I was around 19 or so, and I've been told that I'm not too bad. As for FL 10, it's a fantastic program, and there are heaps of resources and free plugins out there for it! Although, the standard VSTs that come with it are pretty decent, definitely more than enough to learn with, and even get some pretty cool sounds out of. The only thing I don't like are the woeful standard drum sounds, but they're easily replaceable. The best thing to do would be to get a hold of the demo of FL from the Image-Line website: (http://www.image-line.com/downloads/flstudiodownload.html) And there's no shortage of tutorials, either. This is a pretty good one to learn the basics of the program: (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qPxIk-nJvT0) All in all, good luck with it! It's hard work to get into, but in my opinion, it's totally worth it
  15. I don't think it really makes a difference. So a teenage or adult male (massive assumption) doesn't want to publicly admit that they're a legitimate fan of a TV show primarily directed towards young girls. I can understand that, totally, a lot of my friends don't understand it, and I guess I'm somewhat "closeted", in that I don't exactly go out in public wearing pony shirts or anything (although, that's more because I'm broke). As long as they aren't the type of people who give the brony community grief in public, but secretly enjoy the show, I'm cool with whatever.
  16. As long as they never, EVER try to directly target the brony community with the main show, I hope so. Not massively keen on what would happen then, but I somehow highly doubt that they ever would xD
  17. I'unno, the supermarket? I would've thought most stores would've kept them, or at the very least be able to order them in on demand
  18. Australian accent here, the strength of which depends greatly on who I'm around. In my last two jobs (especially the second one, being a call centre) it was pretty important to speak clearly and legibly. Which is kinda the opposite of an Australian accent When I'm around other people I kinda let it slip, though
  19. Music. It's probably the one thing that I'm both remotely good at and enjoy doing. Which is a rare combination, to put it lightly.
  20. Moths. I used to be absolutely terrified of them when I was young, I have no idea why. Maybe because some of them were nearly as big as me. I would look back and laugh, except it's still there. And I'm 23. xD Damn creepy little things, they are.
  21. Oh man, I wish I could ski regularly. Tasmania has a ski field (supposedly), but snowfall is absolutely woeful for the most part. Except for maybe one or two days in the middle of winter, which I always manage to miss
  22. Oh wow, I just tried saying your username out aloud to myself.. Not only did I feel rather foolish, but you owe me a new tongue, now.
  23. Did somepony say 'local metal'? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HQgBP7_bAW4 I think it's safe to say that Psycroptic exceeded everyone's expectations with their success. Hell, I've got a friend who saw them in Germany before he saw them in their home town xD Also, for anyone who's interested in melodic black metal, here's some more. These guys are pretty good friends of mine, but this isn't a plug. They're pretty damn awesome. Plus the vocalist ponies
  24. That's pretty harsh :/ Can you find the .dll file for Massive? This hasn't happened to me before, but maybe if you overwrite the .dll in your "FL Studio 10 Plugins" directory, it could clear itself up. But I'm not too experienced with FL, so I really have no idea, sorry The track sounds pretty cool, though. I don't listen to much DnB, but I really like where it's going. If it were up to me, I'd probably make the drums come in a little more gradually, starting with just a simple kick beat to drive it, and then build it up from there May I ask what you're using for drum sounds? I've been struggling like anything to find a snare that sounds like that, and I can't make anything that comes close xD
