  1. The story of this episode is cliché, but it’s executed well. While Friendship is Magic, parts 1 and 2 established and focused on the relationships between Twilight and the other five ponies, this episode uses her dilemma to develop the characters as individuals by providing insight into their personal desires; moreover, these motives are weighted against the relationships established in the previous episodes. This helps flesh out the characters and build a stronger foundation for the series. I also appreciate the Benny Hill chase scene. I half-expected the disguised purple pony pushing the carriage to not be Twilight, but a similar looking pony as a bait-and-switch joke.

    Hello

That's genius! I assumed your name was a reference to an upcoming Nintendo handheld. I actually chose the name "RdB" deliberately. It's an acronym for "Rondo de Blanc", meaning "White Rondo". People say I resemble Boston Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo if he were white. The psuedo-French "de Blanc" is a nod to the Police album Reggatta de Blanc, which roughly translates to "white reggae".

    Hello

Hello. I'm RdB. I'm a 19-year-old college student. I work part-time in retail. My interests include Hip Hop music, bass guitar, music production, film theory, screenwriting, cinematography, film editing, watching documentaries, reading, writing poetry, drawing, and video games. I watched My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic for the first time several months ago via Netflix. I was instantly hooked by the dynamics between the adorable, relatable characters and the colorful visual style. Not to mention, the series is very well written. I see much of myself in a few of the main characters – Twilight Sparkle's asocial pursuit of knowledge, Applejack's diligence, and Fluttershy's fascination with a place (the ground) different from that of her origin (the skies). I've watched the entire first and second seasons, and I'm terrified of what may happen if my family, friends, or girlfriend (who loathes the series for no discernible reason) found out I enjoy a program intended for a much younger (presumably female) demographic. I would like to share my thoughts, opinions, and affection for this series in a more welcoming and nonjudgmental community. I look forward to meeting you all.
