    i already did look at flipturn's post, in full, and replied in kind and the way you were trying to defend her complexity (which has almost no cannon backing) looked to me like you were taking it as such. i still stand by my words, princess twilight is best pony, aj is tied for second with rarity, but the lead in my personal list is huge

    manaphy, you may want to read stella's post right bellow yours... i lol'ed. and yes, she did betray her family, friends, and town by running off after losing. stella, i appreciate your honesty regarding the source of your ideas. and no, none of you have offended me, this thread has been plenty full of trash talk, we're all guilty there regarding aj's simplicity, you should now you're talking to a country boy, we are simple people, simple does not mean stupid, or lesser, it only means 'less complex.' until they decide to put in the show a bit more of aj's past (parents plz hasbro?) she will remain the most simplified main character, and that's fine.

    gonna say something here, and it's one of the, if not THE, biggest gripe i have with this fandom; headcannon does NOT count. show me evidence of deeper complexity from the show, not someone's headcannon. besides trying to convince me is pointless, this vote was cast yesterday

    then what is? something like say... working the orchard she already runs at home and making money more directly without a cut being removed, that way she'd get it done faster. also on the matter of honesty, it is NOT honest to refuse to fess up when you've failed, in fact it's a bold faced lie, just like she did later in that same episode. yes, she did in fact break that promise, it was to tell at breakfast, skipping breakfast is skipping the promise, thus dishonest. aj is still cool and all, but that ep is one of the biggest failings possible for her character edit; ok you added some, i'll cede your last point on the math, but the book, yes twi gets higher cred. if twi hadn't gotten the book, it'd make no sense for any of the others to do so. cred remains, twi is better

    so abandoning your family because you didn't win first place is responsible and mature? huh, i've been wrong all this time... and in 'read it and weep' who first took initiative to get the book for rainbow? oh right, it was twilight, giving her the higher credit in that ep. spouting random quantities of supplies makes you good at math? i've been going about everything the wrong way it seems. aj fills a needed role in the show, but twilight is by far the superior character. aj also is in fact a very simple character, and that's ok, her aspirations? farm apples, her occupation? oh, right, she's already completed her aspirations. her character is a catalyst to move the plot along when it needs a workhorse. really people, aj is cool and all, but twilight has been the primary driving force for the whole series, no two ways about it.
