    here's another quickie update: almost done and almost happy with the face

    looks good so far, the side window seems to be a little different from the reference. although i will admit it may just be the quality of the render and the use of solid colors that hide its actual shape. from what i can see the side window looks like its one piece and one thickness all around. yet in the reference the top part seems to be extend outward like a horse shoe while the bottom of the window is back a little. otherwise it looks pretty good

    I don't think I understand what it is you want exactly. if you want a print of the picture I posted above then I suppose you could go to my deviant art and buy one there. But if you just want the picture you could just right click> save as. or perhaps i am misunderstanding it here. please elaborate.

    Honestly i don't know, I didn't think anyone would be interested in pictures of the model. I'll have to think about it. it also would depend on if there are any additional things you'd like added to the scene etc. since every object will have to be created. (I will not use other people's models in my own work) I don't know what the price would be honestly.

    It's going to be a figurine, but since i'm using a 3d printer i first have to create a 3d model, to print. so technically i could do both.

    update time She's nearly ready for printing just a few small things i need to fix in the pose and then its off to the printers I opted for a slightly different pose from the one she strikes in the show, i might still change her facial expresion a bit, but i kind of like her to have a happy expression rather than the serious one she has in "Luna Eclipsed" let me know what you guys think

    i tried it but it became too detailed and made the base too busy. so instead i just opted for the eye and symbol that's round the neck of the batpony guards.

    Thank you all for the kind words, i'm so glad you guys like it I'm nearly done with the base, just a few more small details and then i can start working on the poseability of luna herself. i'm still debating what color i should make the base for the smaller nightmare night logos. I initialy intended to add a nametag to the front of the figure but the base became so crowded that it drew attention away from luna herself, which is not what i wanted so i'm losing the nametag. Next up posing as always feedback is very much appriciated

    Yes i will print her blank and then hand paint her. also the moon on her regalia will be made of sterling silver, and there will be a gold plated brass nametag on the base,

    yes she will have a peg in her hind legs where she is attached to the base. the final pose will have her standing on both her hind legs in this pose. the final model will have her tail detached and the base. I have to seperate these because in order to keep the print affordable i'll need to print it hollow and then fill it up myself with something sturdy. probably resin or some other material. the removeable tail will allow me to remove the excess print material from the hollow body and from the tail itself. the bottom of the base will also have a hole in it that will be close and filled probably with sand to give it extra weight.

    I would love to but i dont know how i would do that. I've open to suggestions on how i would best do that with paint. but yet i do intend to give her mane a sparkly texture somehow

    Update time I've finally designed a base I am happy with. It's not completely done yet but this should give you guys a basic idea of what i'm planning. Once the base is done I will rig the model for both facial expressions and body movement so i can give it the final pose for the print. Let me know what you think.

    Finaly had a chance to sit down and do some more work. not quite happy with it yet but its getting there.

    here's another quick update. Although these colors wont be used when i print them but they do give a better idea of what the final piece will look like. I've also decided upon a pose more on that soon.

    Looks great wish i had that kind of skill with sculpey. sadly my attempts with sculpey have resulted in pretty basic stuff.

    Hi guys, A few months ago i started work on a Princess Luna plushie, after having that in progress for months I felt I needed to start something that's a little more in my wheelhouse. (i still intend to finish it but it takes a bit of a time commitment to sit down and finish it) So with season 4 just days away and my hype meter is off the charts at the moment so i needed an outlet. I'm big into 3d printing as a hobby so I figured why not make a statue of the best princess and best pony. I've searched around the web for statue's that others have done and found many great pieces which I've taken inspiration from (people like VIIStar and Clawed-Nyasu on deviant art among others) I'm going for a show accurate look, i know that a more realistic style is also quite populair but i felt that show accurate would be more fun and also a little more challanging. So without further a due Princess luna's base 3d model. This figure in this pose will stand at 21cm tall. but I intend to give her a much more elaborate and dynamic pose once I finish the base model and rig it for posing. so the model will most likely be a bit taller than 21cm (yes I will be able to re-pose the figure to anything I want once its rigged. So i might take commisions once its done and if i'm happy with the result) I intend to print her blank and hand paint her. i know 3d color printing is available but i feel the results from those machines can be a little disappointing. i'm looking for a smooth finish with good clear colors. so once i receive the model back from the printers, its going to be Me, Luna and lots and lots of sandpaper. (there's some fanfic fuel ) Also the moon on her regalia will be sterling silver. I'm also going to give her a cool and elaborate base to stand on but i've yet to design it although i have some idea's stay tuned for more progress updates over the coming weeks Lets me know what you guys think. also if you have idea's for a pose or for the base please feel free to post them. I appreciate anything that can make this more awesome. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I've done a bit more work on the wings What I often see other sculptors do with the wings is make them completely flat so i'm breaking with that solution and making them a little curved. as if she's flapping them. So tomorrow I'm going finish the mane and hopefully get some good inspiration from the season premiere for the base What do you guys think?

    I'm a brony and proud of it. I don't care what other people think of me. I don't go out of my way to mention it but i don't hide it either. I like being a brony because I enjoy a show called my little pony friendship is magic and i'm not the only one.

    Yes i am going to add something along the lines of small glittery gems or something i dunno yet. and yes i am also planning to start doing commisions but first i will want to finish Luna, after that we'll see.

    Hi guys it's been a while but things are finally settling down i have had a chance to finally do some more work on Luna. Presenting her new mane pattern With a little bit of luck i should have it mounted tommorow.

    Sadly i've not had the chance to finish her. The last month has been very busy and it looks like its only going to get busier in the comming months. For the moment she is on hold and any future plans for plushies are as good as canceled for the forseeable future. At least till thing quiet down. All thats left on her is the hair though which sadly is also the trickyest part.
