Delirium

I just don't feel like I'm getting any better. Sure, my teacher says I'm getting good, but I don't think that I'm getting better.

What worked for me was learning chords instead of notes-that way you can play songs that sound like something fairly quickly. Most songs have 2 or 3 main chords they're built around, with a couple of minors thrown in here and there. There are guitar fakebooks you can buy with chord diagrams that show you where to put your fingers for the specified chord-you get one with a bunch of songs you know well in it, then just practise. That's how I learned-you're pretty much teaching yours...

Teaching yourself at your own pace-it's encouraging when you can recognize the songs you're playing. Keep at it-it'll be worth it in the end.
