  1. Not always. I am a huge history buff. Military history is what I am majoring in currently and has been my favorite hobby since I was a wee lad. I have been playing WoT since beta but play less and less as time goes on because somewhere about a year into the game the designers said screw history and now the vast MINORITY of vehicles played were ones never seen off a drawing board. That upsets me almost as much as the Beta excited me when I saw the game was about WW-2 era armoured warfare. Fun game but history went out the window a long time ago unfortunately
  2. Could I throw Lance into the party? He's a unicorn, and I only have two pics of him; Here: http://mlpforums.com/page/roleplay-characters/_/lance-minder-r2683 or my Avatar. Sorry but those are the only two pieces I have on him currently. As for pose; since this is for your own practice anything that you feel would fit him If you can find the time to draw him up whenever you come to him it would be greatly appreciated! Thank you kindly and keep up the good work (by the by, I can't figure out how to link the pics directly to my post like others have done, can someone let me know how? Thanks)
  3. @@~Chaotic Fireball~ Lance listened as Fireball spoke, and hoped the Crystal Empire fared better than the world he had seen so far. Lance grabbed his saddlebags and helmet from where they lay and through both onto his back. The helmet was damaged enough that it wouldn't offer him much for protection even if he did wear it, besides he thought. No need to try and look like just another automaton guard while with friends. Lance stepped up beside Fireball, "I'll be sticking around a while longer this time it seems."

  5. So first week of ambulance sitting down: and I found that I definitely do not like my nook. I only had enough battery to read about 500 pages. Which was enough for half of Scorpio Races, and the first book of the Wheel of Time. Both were rather enjoyable and I thank you two for the suggestions! For e'ryone else: I will be going back out again next week and the following BUUUT since my nook had a retarded battery life I will just be addin most of these books to my 'Must-read' list. Thanks for the suggestions
  6. Im sorry but no matter what happens EA will always have me for Origin. I have always been a Battlefield fan-bot since the the days of good ole 1942. So what does I when BF3 is announced? Pre-order that shit! But it install it, log ontp Origin. Doesn't work. Says I dont own the game. Okay no biggie. Re-isnstall. Still says I don't own their own damn game. Call Customer-Support. NOPE! They insist for FOUR MONTHS that the problem Is on my end. FOUR MONTHS of me calling at first multiple times a day, then once a day, and finally once a week. Then, one magical day 4 months and 5 days AFTER Battlefields release someone at customer support looks at my account for the first time and see's that the issue is with their servers. They tap 3 keystrokes and I can finally get Origin working. A company with that much disdain for their customer's in my opinion can't even have a runner up for worst Publication company ever.
  7. @ "We walk. Its a long ways, but I'd rather not trust a train that could drive us into a crevasse like almost swallowed you day one... And to carry all of us would come close to killing all of you unicorns." Lance said with conviction, stepping up closer to the group. "I walked just fine from here to Stalliongrad and back in just a few days." Lance continued, hoping no one would connect that journey to the damage his armor and hide had received. "So for a group like us... It should pose no difficulties as long as we prepare correctly.
  8. I would like to change my original answer. Upon having a conversation with my father about things we used to do together before I left home we talked about an old series we used to love playing against each other and I have since found and reordered a few of these disks from the hyper-realistic RTS series that is Close Combat! my favorite being Close Combat III: The Russian Front or its Remake, Close Combat: Cross of iron
  9. I would just like to point out that a few people on this thread appear to believe that publishing companies and developers are one and the same. Their not. EA does not develop most of the shit their given credit for on this thread. EA are publishers.. All they do is fund the developers in exchange for the rights to the games that are created. SO EA being worst gaming publishers has nothing to do with the games that are released (To a point) It is more about their horrible views on customers and consumerism, in addition to their forcing players to use their products (Origin) and the things they force onto game developers so that they can cut all that much bigger a slice of the cake. (always online DRM, releasing essentially patches as DLC for more than their worth and the like) I agree with EA being worst gaming publishers out there. A few others come close but EA always manages to take the lead in stepping on their customers.
  10. @ Lance walked slowly to the far side of the Town Hall to where Starry was resting and sat down beside her, dropping his saddlebags aside and placing his his helmet before him. While waiting for Starry to stir he absent-mindedly removed all his armour, tracing each scar and worn spot within its once golden coat, as though he were remembering something. After she began to wake again he spoke quietly "It's been a minute.... get a good rest young one?"
  11. Hey, If anyone's complaining about a free canvas, Ill take their spot in the drawing lol jk. But seeing your other finished product Im sure as sure that the wait will be more than worth it for whom-ever ends up with this painting
  12. Lance looked around, his eyes sweeping over everything, the ruin, the hardship, the ponies. "Doesn't surprise me that their headed that way. Diego is lookin for something in that direction, and who knows. Maybe the Griffin Kingdoms didn't get hit like Equestria. If they did Lu-..... I wish luck to Diego at getting them out of there before the Griffins try to blame pony-kind. Your plan... I dunno if Lance's shield spell would have been up until it was too late for the Crystal Empire as well.. But maybe." Then Lance shook his head. "Im not making any decisions here though. Leave that to the leaders like Fireball. I'm just here to make sure everypony will be okay now." @@Meteorite @ @@Pripyat Pony
  13. @@Meteorite Lance stopped at the sound of his name and looked in the direction it came from. It took him a few seconds, longer than it should have, to recognize the pony approaching him now. "Meteorite." He said curtly, nodding his head towards his old companion. "What's the news?"
  14. (OOC: IM BACK. Started reading through the thread and Im lost as a mech in the arm's room sooo Im just gonna jump Lance back in.) Lance looked over the width of the town as he approached. Nothing had changed, the town was still a desolate wasteland with little remaining whole, and the large group of survivors had not seemed to splinter yet. Lance sighed, shaking his head, and proceeded to drag himself back down the hill. Half of him didn't want to go back. He knew there were going to be questions, questions that he didn't want to answer. Questions he couldn't. Plus he had doubts about the integrity of this group of survivors. Few of them appeared to understand how to work together from what he saw, with everyone wanting to make their own decisions. As he neared he saw a few of the ponies outside that he had met shortly before he left, including @ looking like she was in a hurry to get someplace. Lance just shook his head and continued. He wanted to turn back. Wanted to keep going his own way, to fight his own battles. But his vows as a Dragoon nagged at him. It was his duty to protect the citizens who were still living. From what he saw... The princess's had abandoned their subjects for something more important, and the Royal Guard had all but disappeared. That left Lance. and He couldn't help but wonder about the younger ponies, mostly the small mare Starry @. Without any central driving force the youngest would find it the worst to survive on their own. Lance walked straight into the Town Hall, not bothering to stop or look around. He would learn who was still here soon enough. To those that saw him his armour was battered, dented and worn. His once white coat was matted with mud and another less savory dark, congealed substance. He looked haggerd and worn. Tired beyond what anyone had seen him before.
  15. That picture is hilariously awesome! Love all the little touches in it too. Thank you kindly! @@Silverwisp the Bard
  16. A'hm BACK! 4 days of shootin off Ma Duece's 240's and TOW-2's :) plus one of my infantrymen hurt themselves so I recieved some practice at trauma. All in all, good week

  17. @@Meteorite Lance nodded and took the provisions offered. "Thanks. Though I would caution about Canterlot.. if this really is Equestria-wide everypony and their dog will be headed that direction looking for protection from their princesses... And Canterlot cannot support that kind of influx of...." Lance stopped himself. He was worrying needlessly again he was sure. Lance waited until Meteorite wandered off then resumed putting his armour on, everything but the helmet. He l shrugged and began to walk out, careful to be quiet as to not attract anymore attention. These ponies had enough on their minds just surviving at this point. The needn't worry what Lance was doing now with leaving. Besides, they had more than enough head to protect themselves. @ Lance stopped at the slumbering Starry Night and looked down at her. He felt sorry for the young one, it looked like she was still young enough to be in school, just barely a full grown mare. He bent down and patted her shoulder gently, "Don't worry young one. You'll be able to study the stars again someday." He quietly backed away as to not wake her and continued for the door. He hoped that some-pony would watch over her, and keep her safe until she had a chance to adjust like everyone else. And he knew she was one of the few reasons he had remorse for what he was about to do. @ Lance passed Fireball and smiled as he did so. She lay curled up, looking all the world like the meteor's she had saved them from previously. Silently, he was thankful to whomever watched over him that day when he came across her passed out and pulled her from the collapsing building. She was tough, but he thought that underneath her tough exterior she still needed something to comfort her on her weaker moments. He lay his survival blanket over her. To let her know I'm thankful he thought to himself, even though he knew it more that he wanted her to know he was watching over her, as he did when she blacked out. Lance made it to the door, and as he opened it, looked back once. These ponies all showed luck or a will to survive to make it this far, and for that he wished every one of them well. But this fight was just beginning for Lance. And it would be his alone, this is what his talent was, this was what made him a Dragoon. Lance doubted he would see these ponies again with where he was headed. But they needn't know or worry about that. He was a soldier, and he should have died himself before letting what happened to these poor folk happen. And with that final thought, Lance walked through the door into the deep black of the night.
  18. @@Meteorite Lance glanced over at Meteorite watching him, and waited a few seconds before responding. "It's personal business. I'm sorry." Lance however knew that this stallion would not be satiated by so few words and continued trying to reassure him. "Don't worry about it alright? There are more than enough ponies here to keep an eye on you or vis-versa. You'll do alright here."
  19. Lance began to walk back to his gear. The day had long since been moving into evening and most all of the ponies in the Town Hall were passed out, and those who weren't were preoccupied with their own business. Lance went over his gear, making sure he would have everything he needed for what was to come. Seeing as how he was low on food and water he refilled his canteen with water, and took an extra flask of cider for the road. He was about to nab some food that was laying out, then looked about at all the ponies who seemed so much more worn out and less pulled together than himself. Thinking twice he left the food, I'll just find my own provisions he thought to himself before gathering his belongings together and re-donning his armour.
  20. I've no idea how much longer you expect this project to take Im going to go with: IF you finish it sometime this week and IF i manage to be lucky enough to receive this piece I just wanted to let you know I'm going to be dark for the next week but I will be back, should be around Friday afternoon.
  21. @@Pripyat Pony Lance nodded slowly, finding a new respect for Diego for his reasoning. "I agree completely, there's no way the land can support as many ponies as we have here. I would actually recommend that when the group get's ready to leave you should find 10 to 12 ponies with similar goals such as yourself and travel in smaller groups like that. Having all the survivors here travel together will just lull every-pony into a heard mentality... Never a good thing in survival situations." Lance eyed Diego, "But you already knew that I'm sure."
  22. @@Pripyat Pony "Give it time and a little bit of effort. You will see, I came to here only for some R and R an knew only a few of these ponies, and now most everyone in here could point out that they see me helping those who were hurt or rendered incapable during the storm. Then again that could be more having to do with this." As Lance said that he gestured at the difference between his own Red Cross cutie mark and Diego's Eight-Pointed Star. "Besides," He continued, "If you give it a bit more I'm sure something else will happen that see's at least one pony finding use out of your chaos magic."
  23. As long as you can handle isolation's own stress's and handle accordingly. Some people that try to lead isolated lives aren't built for it and I know little is as annoying (or hilarious) to me as some guy/gal who do naught but sit ony their smart phone all day and complain o depression. (Not trying to start a war here, but pointing out that not everyone is or can be anti-social. For human beings being social is in fact linked to mental wellness and physical health in most cases.)
  24. @@Pripyat Pony Lance glanced back at Diego. If you need a group your right to stay here. These ponies seem to have little idea of a plan. As for the mares I wouldn't be too presumptuous, I've met some that were pretty good soldiers. A few though.." Lance glanced around the room again. "A few though will need help in these times ahead. Though I wouldn't reply too much on magic at this point. This was something beyond simple Chaos. And the impossible already happened so I wouldn't be surprised if anything else we take for granted simply betrayed us as well. Either way.. if your traveling as a group you should learn to rely upon others here as well. It doesn't matter how much power or strength one has there will always be something that someone can do better than you." Lance looked at Diego out of the corner of his eye, gauging him for a reaction to his next line, "Learned that from the Dragoon's."
  25. @@Pripyat Pony "That explains alot then." Lance said, instantly understanding Diego so much more than he had before. "you came to explain yourself, and proclaim innocence. Even though you knew you were going to be blamed for it. You could just as easily walked away... So either you hope to be gaining something... Or you really are tired of traveling alone." Lance smiled slightly." Well these ponies will open up soon enough I'm sure. They seem like an odd bunch themselves." @ Lance looked back to his gear and Starry sitting beside it still. Of all the ponies here he was most worried about her stability. She was still quiet and withdrawn. Fireball seemed to be able to bounce back rather well, staying strong seemed like a strength of her own. Meterorite would always stay positive, its who he was. Diego was enamoured with Chaos, so he should be right at home. Blue had his friends.
