If it is a passing remark on a profile or something small, I don't really see a problem with it. We've recently taken down a couple of the "Looking for special somepony" threads though. This isn't a dating site.

Having an 18+ section would not cut down on the immaturity or flaming. Age does not define maturity.
Also, it is possible to edit your birthdate on your profile. So anybody could get in there if they wanted to.
It could also cause segregation in the community from having people not be able to access it. It's best to try and keep the community all-inclusive.

Actually it is possible to make a second blog.
All you have to do is go to the "Manage Blogs" option under your drop-down menu at the top of the page and the option is on the right side. I actually have two of them myself.
