  1. Officer: "Have you been drinking" Me: "Yeah, I just had some water not too long ago" I wonder how much trouble I'd get into for saying that. Anyway, I've got English, Irish and Caribbean blood in me, so you know I drink . My parents were always fine with it and thought it was better that I start drinking at home in a safe environment, just in case I overdid it. I like most alcohol. Red wine, beer, hard liquor, it's all good. I drink because I like it though, not to get drunk, so after I reach a certain point I stop. I like the buzzed feeling I get and it does help me relax. The main thing is that you don't over do it, which I'm sure everyone has heard a million times. Alcohol is supposed to be good for you in moderation and helps relieve stress. I also heard it can help lower blood pressure, as long as you don't over do it. I'm not 100% sure about the last point though.
  2. I would cross the street for my friends. Maybe even cross a freeway! If my friend needs me to go deep into East Oakland or Compton at 3 am, they're on their own . I was joking about the last section, though I would do all of those things for a friend. I would do anything for a friend within reason. For example, I'd only kill for a friend if it was in self defense, and the situation would have to be pretty bad. I would also go into East Oakland/ Compton at 3 am for a friend, but definitely not alone, and I can't stress that enough. I'd probably bring something to defend myself with too, I've heard too many bad stories about those places. If I had to go alone, I'd wont lie, I'd be hella scared, but I'd do it.
  3. I used to say that a lot when I was younger. I heard others say it, so I said it too. I didn't mean anything derogatory by it though, it was just a phrase like "that's stupid". As I got older and learned more about the gay community, calling something gay didn't feel right anymore, so I quit saying it. At that point I started getting annoyed when I heard others saying it, but now I don't care as much as I used to. I know the majority of the people who say it don't have any ill will towards the gay community, so the phrase doesn't have any meaning. Still, if I hear one of my friends say it I get slightly disappointed in them. Once they get to university, I feel they should know better. Oh well...
  4. I know people who have died from cancer caused by heavy smoking, so no, I wouldn't say its badass at all. If you wanna talk about people who are badass, why not ask if anyone does extreme sports. Skydiving, Muay Thai, Snowboarding and parkour are a few things I can think of that are very badass, have an element of danger to them, and are actually cool. To me, I think it would sound cooler and more badass to say "I practice parkour" than "I smoke". So anyway, to answer the question... I don't smoke. I have asthma anyway so it probably would be a bad idea to try. Plus, I enjoy playing sports and smoking could have a negative effect on that. I'm also kinda surprised no one has said they smoke weed yet, unless you aren't allowed to talk about that here.
  5. I think its fine to give out the city you live in, but after that it can start to be dangerous. I wouldn't wanna give out landmarks near me as people have said, or even specific neighborhoods. My city has around 800,000 people and 1,000,000+ if you count the greater area, so giving the city alone shouldn't be too bad.
  6. I have trouble believing this guy is 100% serious, and it seems many sites are saying lavish isn't real. For instance, one of his pictures shows a $10,000 balance on his Starbucks card, but one site said Starbucks caped their cards at $500. He's most likely the internet's biggest troll. He could be rich, but lavish seems too over the top to be real. I really hope it isn't possible for that much douchebagery to exist in one person. The scary part is some people act similar to lavish. One person I know once said "why do you care so much about money?" which sums up how out of touch some people can be.
  7. - I'm really into fashion. I like looking at different websites to see what styles are coming in and get new ideas for styles I could hopefully pull off. I especially like street style/ fashion, I'm not so much into suit and tie stuff. I especially like accessories like scarves, hats etc...and I'll stop before I end up writing too much on this one point. - I like some reality shows and I don't mind "chick flicks". - I like shopping, even if I'm just window shopping. - I don't really cry, but I still think I'm in touch with my emotions and I'm pretty affectionate. - I'm starting to get into cooking. - I'd sew if I knew how. I wish I could make my own MLP plushie, cause I don't have $300 or more to spend on the show accurate ones. - I hate it when guys talk about women as purely sexual objects, or that they're only going out with someone so they could get in bed with them. It makes me feel bad for the women they're involved with. I've got a dragon plushie that I sleep with, and I have a Stitch plush at my parents house too. I wish I could get a big MLP plush. I'd get either Rainbow Dash, Twilight, Spitfire or Soarin.
  8. I would say after Twilight, Applejack would be the smartest. She doesn't have the same book smarts as Twilight, but she definitely has the most common sense and is very rational most of the time. She also seems to be the most mature out of the group. Twilight has book smarts and Applejack has life smarts or whatever you wanna call it.
  9. It's so hard to decide who to hug. Dash and Twilight are best pony, but I think the pony I wanna hug the most would be...Spitfire ! I bet she's nice underneath that tough exterior, and for some reason I think she'd give good hugs. I have a feeling I'd either get slapped or embraced for trying to hug her. I hope it's the later, but if I get slapped I'd assume I picked a bad time. Still, I'd give her a huge hug regardless. If I could hug more than one pony, my other choices would be between Rainbow Dash, Twilight and Soarin.
  10. I wouldn't know what to do. I'd have to roll a 20 sided die to determine my first move, then consult the magic 8 ball to be 100% sure I'm making the right decision . Or I could try to be really nice to it and hope the monster is nice too. Maybe it's just misunderstood and needs a friend. If not, I'll run away as fast as I can and call someone who could properly deal with the monster and get rid of it. Until the monsters are gone, I don't think I'd be sleeping in that room again. I wonder if young children will sleep well after being shown this picture. Could be an interesting mean experiment. I'm just joking, I'm far to nice to do something like that . This picture also did not make me laugh. Nope, no laughing here. Only pure concern for that child's safety.
  11. I remember when I lived in Canada, every time the Canadian dollar went above the USD, my friends would go to Seattle to shop . Now from what I hear many people from Vancouver go to Bellingham, Washington to do their grocery shopping cause its cheaper. They actually built a brand new Costco because of this. Canada is not cheaper though. I found it similar to Europe in this regard, but you also get free health care which is a plus. If you wanna get treated faster though, paying speeds things up a bit. Also, I don't know if this still happens, but I've heard some American tourists will wear Canadian flag pins abroad because Canadians are seen more favorably. One of my teachers said you can tell an American from a Canadian because the American will have a huge visible Canadian pin on their bags, while the Canadian will have a smaller pin . If you do choose to go to Vancouver one day, I'm sure you will like it. Its a beautiful city with lots to do, especially if you love mountain biking, skiing/ snowboarding and other outdoor sports. Just felt like sharing some things from my Canadian experience. Anyway, to answer the question, I'm from the U.S.A and was born in Los Angeles . I love California, I love LA and I love San Francisco, which is where I currently live.
  12. I've got pony wallpapers on my cell phone and laptop, and the pony squee as my text message alert. I've thought about getting stickers too, but I'm not quite sure about it yet. I think I'll probably stick with wallpapers and ringtones for now.
  13. I usually eat between 2-3 times a day, sometimes more but never less. Sometimes I feel like I should eat more though. Every so often my parents ask if I'm eating enough, and people have told me I barely eat anything, but I feel I get what I need. I used to try and eat less to save money, but I started to feel a bit rough, so I'm not doing that anymore and am trying to eat 3 times a day.
  14. I usually eat breakfast, but every so often I might miss it. If I don't eat breakfast, I don't feel so great and can feel a bit light headed. The times I eat breakfast vary depending on when I have to get up, but I still eat it.
  15. Some say there's no such thing as bad publicity (or something like that), and this appears to be true with MLP too. I haven't given too much thought, if any, to the positive side haters have on the community, but it makes sense. They're spreading awareness of the show, so in a strange way we have them to thank for the growth of MLP's popularity. It's a good thing there are quite a few people out there who decide to give MLP a chance and don't automatically believe the haters before seeing the show for themselves.
  16. Nice one. Hopefully this could change your parents' opinion on the brony community and MLP, or at least start the process. If only people could be more open minded and not be so quick to only see the negatives in things that may seem strange or different. You're doing a good job with this, hopefully everything works out. Haters have become fans, so there's hope . You never know, right?
  17. Hello and Hope you enjoy this crazy corner of the internet . Don't worry though, we've got just the right amount of crazy to keep things interesting. Hope you enjoy yourself and have fun here .
  18. It's nice that you're so open minded and decided to give MLP a shot. Finding out that people in my age group (20's) and up are into MLP helped spark my interest in the show. I figured there had to be something good about it if so many people outside the target demographic like it. I also like that there is such a huge artistic community based around MLP. If you haven't begun checking out the massive amount of art and music based on FIM, I highly recommend looking into it. This community is insanely talented . Hope you enjoy your stay.
  19. Sorry to hear about what's happening. MLP is a good show, so you shouldn't feel embarrassed about it. The most awkward part is probably the title, but if people can get past that, they'll all see MLP for the awesome show that it is. I felt a bit awkward about watching it at first, but over time that feeling went away as I realized I shouldn't care about what others say. You like what you like, nothing wrong with that. Also... Hope you enjoy this crazy (in a good way ) community!
  20. Same here. I drift off into my own world a lot when I'm on public transit or walking somewhere and get lost in thought. Sometimes I think of something and have to try hard to stop myself from laughing, cause I'll probably get awkward glances if I start laughing for no reason. More likely, people will just think I'm high . Sometimes I have conversations with characters from MLP or other shows in my head when I'm trying to work through problems, motivate myself to do something, or just feel like it. I also make up little stories and adventures in my head too.
  21. - One of my friends reminds me of Rarity. Although she isn't creative as far as I know, she's into fashion and always dresses nicely. She also has a huge personalty and saying she can be dramatic and needy is a bit of an understatement . She's also very hard working, kind and insanely smart. Some say they can only handle her in small amounts, but I enjoyed her company and thought she was fun to be around. Too bad she moved though. - My sister reminds me of Rainbow Dash in some ways, although my sister is not cocky at all. She's a competitive swimmer and is close to Olympic Trial cuts in several events. She can be reckless at times, but means well and is always thinking of others and will go out of her way to help someone out. You could say she is loyal to her friends and family. She also has Dash's stubbornness too.
  22. - Listening to/ playing music - Just walking around and exploring places - Sunny days - Hanging out with friends, but I also enjoy being alone too. Those are a few things I can think of that make me happy. Sometimes when I'm walking somewhere and am observing the world around me, I feel happy too. There's so much going on around me, which makes me feel like I'm apart of something bigger. There's always something new and exciting/ interesting to do. I also love cities. Finding an area with a nice view and looking at the city and its skyline always makes me feel happy for some reason. I could easily spend hours just looking at the skyline. One day if I get an apartment with an incredible view, I wouldn't be surprised if I rarely watch TV, especially at night. I'd put on some relaxing music like bossa nova and look at the city .
  23. I love mangoes. They're juicy and sweet and are the perfect summer fruit. I also like star fruit/ carambola, but I don't have it too often. I like fruit in general, but those two are my favorites.
  24. Soarin is my favorite stallion and one of my favorite characters. He has a nice design, and I actually do like his mane. He deserves all the love he gets, and also deserves more love than he gets. So if no one else wants him, can I keep him ?
  25. I know a decent amount of people, and on the odd occasion someone will talk to me and I won't remember their name or (sadly true) who they are, which makes me feel soooo bad . My issue is that I have a habit of never getting contact info, so when I wan't to hang out with someone, I have few people who I can call. The people who's contact info I do have are also always busy or when they are available, I'm not. Now one of my goals is to get more phone numbers and do a better job of staying in touch with people. For a long time I had few friends and had social anxiety, but I've been trying hard to push myself out of my comfort zone, especially since transferring to a new university. Don't worry about making friends, they'll come in time. Also, don't try and force it, cause you don't wanna start hanging out with people you don't really like, just cause you wanna be around someone. You aren't boring, you could just say you enjoy your relaxation time, and you definitely aren't a looser. Don't be so hard on your self .
