Here: http://www.fimfiction.net/story/261151/the-status-quo Haven't had time to write in a very long time, but I got inspiration for this story recently and I'm almost done with it. It's mostly adventure with dark themes and an ending that will make you think. Story will be done soon (in a few days). *Edit* It's more of a mystery story at first.

I was writing a book in response, but everything I had to say could be condensed to this: The fandom is different, but growing. If you loved the first and second season, you still like Season 5. You won't love it, but you'll like it. S5 finale is amazing, btw. Season 4 is solid. Artists (visual and music) are probably leaving because there's so much competition within the fandom concerning the arts, ie., there are so many amazing new artists that some of the old guard are leaving. To me, there's more of a focus on fan-work than actual episodes these days, which is far different from when we joined up in 2011. You might think that's bad, but again, some of these content creators are amazing. Some are better than Hasbro IMHO. (Some, but very few.) Hasbro does seem like they're struggling a bit and making some bad moves, but they still have Daniel Ingram for music which speaks volumes. As a guy who left the fandom for about a year, now is a good time to come back.

The best advice I can give is to try it analog. Some of the best stuff I make is from riffs I make on the guitar. Messing around with the riff after I made it is where I get most of the chorus ideas from. Even if you don't have an instrument to work with, just try changing a few notes here and there. You'd be surprised how much different something can sound from a one note change in the pattern. If that doesn't work with single note oriented patterns, try working with chords, or a double melody. You could also add a lead to a rhythm pattern. These are just some of the ideas I use when I write. Hope it helps.

I'm not sure what you're asking for but I wouldn't mind helping. Patterns in FL are really easy to make but if you're asking for catchy riffs or something, it's just trial and error.

Oh man, that's some real good stuff. Dubstep isn't really my thing, I just make a stab at it every once in a while so complicated things like the examples you listed are beyond my pay grade. I do know that Cyclop is fantastic for bass and synth and that a ton of dubstep producers use a lot of FX plug ins to change sounds entirely. I'm really not the person to ask though, else I would totally help more. About your plugin problem, I've never used a Mac to make music so I have no idea on that either. If you had FL, I could answer most any question but that's not the case. Sorry I couldn't be of more help

I went back to look at the .flp (I use FL Studio 11) and I remember now that this entire track was to test the new vanilla plugin for FL 11 called Harmor. Harmor is ~50% of the synths you hear. Another one of my favorites on this is "Four Bits" from the Sawer plugin, also vanilla. Believe it or not, the only non-vanilla VST I used for this was EWQLSO and that was for the orchestral instruments. If you want, I could make a short list of VST's that I think you'll need if you want to make these kinds of tracks.

Hello! My name is AppleJared and I am a game developer with SharkBird Studios. We are a brand new indie game company that formed over the summer and we are in need of some game coders! The game is already in production as we speak and we are far too invested in the project to ever quit. Trust me, I've been in situations where great projects just quit and it sucks. I can promise that doesn't happen here. The game itself is (as of now) a 2D side scroller with vertical movement as well, comparable to Rush Bros or possibly Megaman. The music team is already at work for this, the story is more than halfway written already and the designer has been working on this since before the summer started. We just need a coder(s) to actually make this happen. We're looking for coders who are serious about their work. If you know game logic in either Java or a form of C (such as C++ or preferably C#) please give me a PM with your email address.

I am doing a remix of a song and I need a girl who can do Twilight's voice pretty well not only in word but also in song. She's also going to be rapping but not a cheesy kind of rap. If you are interested, send me a PM of an example of how you can sound/sing like Twilight. I am open and flexible as long as you can sound like her and I don't mind waiting a tad for you to brush up on her voice. Quality is a big deal for me. If you PM me and I like your voice, I'll give you a link to a rough draft on the song I'm doing. The person who does the best Twilight voice will have a feature position on the song. I will give credit and their choice of link on all my media outlets (YouTube, Soundcloud etc.) If you are interested but not sure if you think you can do it, try it anyway! Never hurts to try!
