  1. I kind of feel like the episode was written such that adults would equate cider to alcohol and laugh at Dash's addiction while it would woosh over the younglings' heads.
  2. Pinkie Pie is messed up in the head. In the real world she'd be on medications and court-ordered therapy.
  3. Because Equestria seems to be a world of magic and weirdness rather than logic and order that can be quantified scientifically. Pragmatically, its an easy way of establishing Celestia and Luna as being powerful and in charge.
  4. 'Cause we totally need another Derpy-level perfect storm of foalishness and idiocy. As much as I value the sentiment of showing kids that its ok to be who you are, this isn't the medium.
  5. I think it's fine. It's indicative of her character and somewhat unmistakable for anypony else. It helps paint her nature for readers by showing that she isn't really acclimated to modern times. Maybe just use it sparingly so it doesn't become annoying (like spamming catchphrases does) or confusing.
  6. I find some of it slipping into my speech. I keep it at a level where it won't annoy people or be obnoxious to others. I'm rather fond of muttering "Oh, for Celestia's sake" when I'm annoyed.
  7. "Love and tolerate" is perfectly fine for people who are just harmlessly different or unknown to us. We shouldn't have to spell out "Love and tolerate except for those whose actions or thoughts bring suffering or pain to others." We aren't a bunch of morons; I think we can all collectively know when tolerance and love is a valid response and when it isn't.
  8. http://www.fimfiction.net/story/10883/a-rose-reverie This one got me pretty good. It's pretty long and takes a while to build up, but the ending is very poignant and tragic. Not to mention vague enough to make it sting at your mind for a while afterward.
  9. I think I'd take issue with anyone who stabbed me with a knife; whether or not they had Autism (or anything else) wouldn't even matter.
  10. Those with the most severe type of autism can be incapable of communication with others and have no acknowledgement of the world or of others around them. Even less serious forms can be crippling. I think that counts as a "disorder." However, I do take your point that those with the milder forms of the autism spectrum can appear to be perfectly normal, albeit with a few quirks. This makes autism one of the more challenging issues to deal with; it manifests differently in different people and what one person thinks of as "autism" may be vastly different from what somebody else assumes. Ultimately, autism is a disorder, but it varies in seriousness from so mild as to be indistinguishable to so profound that it leaves a person utterly crippled and helpless. However, your point about labels being used against people who are hated for being different stands uncontested.
  11. I think when someone calls someone else "autistic" or "retard" or something like that as an insult, they aren't actively trying to pass judgement on people with autism or mental disabilities. Rather, they're trying to imply that your brain/mind doesn't function correctly and that your bronyness is a sign of an underlying disorder. After all, there must be something wrong with a grown man who likes ponies. *eyeroll*
  12. I've heard rumors of a new Mane 6 character yet, but I haven't seen any formal confirmation yet. (On the other hand, they did go out of their way to reform Trixie this season, so who knows.)
  13. I think the lighter/softer influences of MLP help curb my normal dark, cynical, pessimistic personality. It helps to make me a nicer person overall by serving as a counterbalance to the side of me that is, um, not very nice.
  14. Pfff . . . real bronies watch ponies at work so they can de-stress immediately. Seriously, though, I like working at my job where I can watch ponies/Netflix or listen to music while I'm doing stuff. It helps keep me sane.
  15. Meh . . . they're $10 a pop, and I really only want one. I'm not gonna wear two at a time and I'll likely never switch them once I have them.
