I will never understand business no matter how much I end up in one. Spend all that money on something, it does "ok" and then idle it for...? Just forget about it, not improve it or work with it, just kinda leave it to fade. Granted the idea was somewhat poor in the first place, it apparently does fine for what it is now and for what it costs through Dish.

I figured they would be on discovery +.

That may be due to the fact Discovery Communications, not Hasbro, has majority ownership of Discovery Family (formerly The Hub). From 2010 to 2014, Hasbro and Discovery had joint control of the channel. Hasbro then decided to cut its losses and sold its majority stake to Discovery. Discovery has been cruising on reruns (apart from new MLP episodes) ever since.

Investing money into Discovery Family really isn't cost effective in 2021, especially when Discovery has shown little interest in taking risks.

  2. I know of at least one friend of mine who had it: he suffered through two weeks of fever, labored breathing, and lethargy. To say he felt miserable is an understatement. Thankfully, he recovered despite being in his later 60s with a prior history of obesity. It was torturous in part because he wasn't able to take his daily walks.

I sometimes wonder if I contracted it, even if that would have meant I was asymptomatic. I traveled into Brooklyn in early March before the lockdowns went into effect. (I had to go for a hearing concerning, of all things, my medical coverage.) I felt the beginnings of a fever a day or two later -- but then it abated. I've considered receiving an antibody test, though that would mostly be to satisfy my curiosity.

I agree with you 100%. I was hoping the episodes aired this season would entail answering some questions that have been left unanswered or the season having an overall story of the main characters dealing with Grogar and his plans. I don’t want to have to wait until the season finale to see Grogar in action. I know that we are still early in and things may change but right now, I am not very satisifed with the episodes. I will admit that I have high expectations for this season and I realize that they may be a tad too high, however...

I definitely sympathize with you. MLP has struggled with story arcs. The Season 4 story arc, for example, was sporadic. Even Season 5 -- which was excellent overall -- suffered from a similar issue: It introduced Starlight Glimmer in an engaging premise, only to shuttle her off until the finale. They remained wedded to the narrative pacing from Seasons 1 and 2 -- but those seasons worked because the major conflicts (Nightmare Moon, Discord, Chrysalis) were self-contained. Ironically, Season 1 probably has the most successful story arc in the show's history: the Grand Galloping Gala.

  4. What loose ends are there to address? To the best of my memory, Spike's parents have never come up as a topic of scrutiny. His character isn't at all defined by his parents' status.

MLP's arcs are usually contained to a single season. Overarching closure is less an issue here than in, say, Endgame or Steven Universe. Seasons 1-3 culminating with Twilight becoming a princess was about a close as we came to narrative bookends.

I'm partial to Speaker D and Space General, but I was just made by the Presbyterian Church.

  6. Until we have definitive information, it's hard to judge. One thing is guaranteed: G5 will be saddled (hyuk hyuk) with comparisons to G4; that will make it more difficult for G5 to forge its own path without upsetting a vocal contingent of G4 fans.
