Huh. I've never actually watched Star Trek, but that could be a valid point.

I believe its because of the smoothness of the animation, and how much motion and flow is in each action. Other shows usually use static rigs where only a few relevant parts move, but in this show, everything constantly has motion and life.

I was thinking about the similarities between Discord and two other lords ofchaos -Aphophis (Apep) of Egyptian mythology and Nyarlathotep of H.P. Lovecraft's Cthulhu Mythos. Aphophis is depicted as a snake/dragon, and is an incarnation of chaos. He was imprisoned in stone until the end times. This one is somewhat less similar than my next example. Nyarlathotep- The Crawling Chaos. Also known as the Black Pharaoh, Nyarlathotep is another another incarnation of pure chaos. Unlike most of of the Elder Gods, his goal is to cause as much suffering, insanity and, well, discord amongst mortals, rather than just enslave, kill or eat them to regain control of the world. He also walked frequently upon the earth, rather than lie and wait in endless slumber. His personality is described as constantly amused in a morbid way. I think that Nyarlathotep was more likely an influence, based upon both the description and the sparing use of Lovecraftian tropes (cosmic powers, chaos/harmony instead of good/evil, fear of the unknown, etc.) throughout the show. What do you think?

I didnt really like this episode.... it seemed like the lesson was 'Bullying is ok if you've been bullied before!' Song was pretty good though. One of the only eps I wouldn't rewatch.

First off, if Hasbro makes this canon... They better barricade the HQ, a riot will form. The shippers.... ALL THE SHIPS. Blueblood is an asshole. Nuff said. Twilight is the bucking ruler of friendship. Also, this kinda looks more like Cadence and Shining's child.

I think that the "Twilight won't outlive her friends" just means that they won't address it in the show. Cartoons aimed for 5-7 year old girls don't really address death and mortality that much. If someone died in the show, there are two paths: Fans will love the adult theme introduced but adults will almost sue Hasbro, yet then take it off and it's Derpy all over again.. OR- Fans love/hate the adult theme, no response from adults, and then a riot will start because apparently a character with crossed eyes is more offensive than death, etc. If they do address it in the show, it most likely will be in the form of the other Mane 6 becoming alicorns. Horrible, but likely true. Buck it, Hasbro already has drawings on toys of Alicorn Mane cast.

Twilight... is going to have a boyfriend? I have mixed feelings. First off, Sunset Shimmer is a PONY. If she didn't use the mirror, why is she on earth? Also, Spike is a dog. And anyways, why wouldn't anyone else notice why the character's skin is colorful? However, it seems less horrendous than it did when we just had screenshots. I still don't understand why they have to go to high school. That gives a sort of Twilight (the bad one) feel (immortal person chooses to go to high school forever and ever). I think I'll wait for it to appear on the interwebs before watching it.
