I actually wound up enjoying Pony Life for what it is: A separate Universe from the FiM World(Though surprisingly featuring reprisals of most of the mane cast sans a few characters like Spike and Snips.). And truth be told, I wouldn't mind another alternate universe featuring the Mane Six. Maybe something along the lines of Looney Tunes. Or maybe something a bit darker. After all, I have a feeling that the Mane Six will get a new series following G5's conclusion. They're too integrated into our culture because of how long they've been on the market, just like Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Arcee and Grimlock of the Transformers, the original Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, the Ninja Turtles, Batman, Spider-Man, Mario and Sonic, and various other forms of pop culture.

G4 characters returning in G5 and a theory
SaburoDaimando replied to Christian123's topic in MLP Generation 5 (G5)
It may not just be Twilight, Spike, Ember, Smolder, Celestia, Luna, Cadance, Flurry Heart or Discord. I also expect to see the return of Chrysalis, TIrek and Cozy Glow. Perhaps the magic disappearing has allowed them to escape their fate from the Ending of the End. Ether that or they did succeed at creating what G5 starts off with. -
gaming Poll: Are you more of a single player or multiplayer guy when it comes to video games?

Single Player, obviously. It's like picking up a good book and reading it. -
gaming Micro-transactions in Video Games
SaburoDaimando replied to Lunar Echo's topic in Media Discussion
I think the reason why people are defending Microtransactions even in spite of all evidence is this: Some people have a sense of achievement for buying these kinds of things. A feeling they get for getting that rare character, weapon, or skin. And yes, even if there are non-MTX games that makes unlocking skins a piece of cake. They feel as if it held value, like a trading card, or a collectible figure. I also figured that the same thing can be said of Loot Boxes. Some people like having a surprise come out of it, hence why they're willing to part with hundreds of dollars on Loot Boxes.(And I think that's crazy, as one who has played F2P games). What I find really said is how many defend Microtransactions and Loot Boxes in $60 games(Soon to be $70 games), even in spite of more expensive editions and DLC. It's rather obvious that it makes the Triple A industry look greedy in hindsight. But even if they came out and admit that this was all a scam, some will still defend it to the very end.- 50 replies

We all know that My Little Pony is getting a new series this fall on Netflix starting with a new movie, and there's a chance Pony Life will be phased out in favor of G5. But at the same time, I also wonder if more than one My Little Pony series can co-exist at the same time. Not just Pony Life and G5, but I think G5 and a more legacy-focused series. The one example I can provide about a franchise co-existing with two series is the Transformers. Not long ago, there were two Transformers series on the Hub: Transformers Prime and Transformers: Rescue Bots. One was aimed at a general audience while the other was more for a younger audience. It's already repeated itself with Transformers War for Cybertron on Netflix and Transformers Cyberverse on Cartoon Network(Though the latter will go through one more season), with confirmations on a 3rd Transformers series called Botbots on Nickelodeon. This also makes me wonder if there will be two co-existing My Little Pony series in the future, much like we did with My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic and Equestria Girls. Maybe one for a new generation of fans, and one for nostalgia. And it doesn't have to be Pony LIfe, nor should it focus on G4. It could also be a nod to G1, or expand into an ideal MLP Multiverse theme. What do you all think? Should My Little Pony have two co-existing shows like it did with G4(FiM and Equestria Girls)

Buying more ponies on DVD, physical media is better than streaming
SaburoDaimando commented on SUPERFOX5's blog entry in The most boring blog eva!
I actually have that on DVD as well. Soon as I get a bigger external hard drive, I'm ripping them. -
Recently, Hasbro made an announcement that the Power Rangers franchise will be moving to Youtube, and so far, Might Morphin(Disney Remake) and Dino Charge is most likely to be the first jump there. This makes me wonder if Hasbro will do the same thing with previous seasons of My Little Pony: Generation 1, Tales, Generation 3, Generation 3.5, Friendship is Magic and Pony Life.(Equestria Girls has its own Youtube series). I think it may be a good idea for previous Pony series, just to at least keep their spirit alive after the final curtain drop. There could be a new generation of Pony fans who could check out the classics and take part in what made the fandom great. Hell, at best, it could lead to a revival in the future(I know I shouldn't hold my breath. But then again, Animaniacs got its revival). What do you all think? Should Hasbro make the My Little Pony legacy available on Youtube for everyone to see?

MLP 40th anniversary year!!! Party it up!!!
SaburoDaimando replied to ManaMinori's topic in Sugarcube Corner
How do you feel that the pony brand is now “over the hill”? I'm still surprised that a franchise like My Little Pony has become this big. But I'd say it hasn't hit full stride until it's part of a Massive Hasbro crossover with other franchises like Transformers, Jem and the Holograms, GI Joe, Power Rangers and other franchises What year did you get into MLP? Late 80s, early 90s, for Generation 1. I have the full series on DVD. Are you only a part of the pony family for one generation? Hell no. Both G1 and G4. The former due to its mythology. The latter for obvious reasons Are you a pony collector? Hell yeah. Though I think with the end of Pony Life, I may consider retiring from Pony Toy collecting(Unless G5 has some interesting designs) Does the person responsible for the concept and design of MLP as a whole, Bonnie Zacherle, get enough praise and recognition in the generational fandoms apart from g1? As much as I want to give Lauren Faust credit for shaping Ponies into a better idea, Bonnie deserves some credit for making the franchise a reality. How many more years do you see the pony brand trotting along? If brands like the Transformers, Gi Joe and the Power Rangers can last a long time, so can My Little Pony. -
Not recently, except for the Egg project in Middle School(Egg as a baby).

movies/tv Warner Bros' 2021 movie schedule to release in Theaters and HBO Max
SaburoDaimando posted a topic in Media Discussion
For anyone who is still worried about going to theaters, worry not. Warner Bros has confirmed that its 2021 movie schedule will be out in theaters and on HBO Max. But this might mark the beginning of the end for movie theaters. https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/warner-bros-smashes-box-office-windows-will-send-2021-slate-to-hbo-max-and-theaters This is a rather big surprise that Warner Bros is pulling this move for 2021, as I happen to have an HBO Max account. So at least I'm not going to miss some of these films coming out. But at the same time, it also means that it could mark the end for movie theaters if this becomes the new norm. -

animation Disney XD is cancelling Ducktales reboot after season 3
SaburoDaimando replied to ggg-2's topic in Media Discussion
It really is a damn shame, considering that these are more premium cable TV channels. Disney should have pushed this series more onto Disney Plus instead of stranding it on Disney XD. This, unfortunately, has me worried about MLP Generation 5 if its only on Discovery Family. In fact, I actually hope that Ponies exist more on streaming services instead of these more premium cable tv channels.(Be it Netflix, Hulu, Disney Plus, HBO Max, etc) -
I've already seen 2 episodes of the reboot. The first being the first episode and the second being the Halloween Special. If I had to choose which of the two was better, I enjoyed the special more than the premiere, mainly because of the themes, the jokes, and(In rare cases) the heartbreaking moments. That being said, I hope this series does well so that we can have shorts focused on Slappy and Skippy Squirrel, the Goodfeathers, and Rita and Runt.

gaming Banjo-Tooie 20th anniversary
SaburoDaimando replied to AlicornSpell's topic in Media Discussion
Last time I played this game was back in 2009 on the X-Box 360. In fact, this and Banjo-Kazooie are among the many N64 games I want to see on the Switch. -
movies/tv Wonder Woman 1984 will debut in Theaters AND HBO Max on Christmas Day
SaburoDaimando posted a topic in Media Discussion
So unless you've been under a rock, the internet is flooding with news that Patty Jenkin's Wonder Woman sequel will be in theaters. But for those who are still worried about the Coronavirus, worry not. The movie will also hit HBO Max on the same day: Christmas. You can read more about it at https://variety.com/2020/film/news/wonder-woman-1984-hbo-max-release-1234804411/ That being said, this makes me wonder if the same thing should happen to the upcoming Tom and Jerry Movie, Space Jam: A New Legacy and even the upcoming 2021 release of the My Little Pony movie as well. I know it's not the big screen, and that's an experience I am going to miss out on. But if it means more Americans get to watch the movie in question(Scoob saw great success with releasing on HBO Max as opposed to theaters), then I'm all for it. -
