  1. I noticed that in "She's All Yak", the song (Fit Right In) incorporates a lot of choreography which looks more "human" than pony. For example, both Rarity and Yona frequently stand up on two legs and even jump in such a way. Rarity seems to be more frequent on two legs than four in this song. Maybe this phenomenon has been seen before but it really stands out here. It makes me think this song was built from the ground up for Human rarity for an EQ song but was scrapped in favor for this episode.

  2. I, for one, do not have a problem with some of the underlying messages that the song may be pushing. There's nothing wrong with an outsider learning more about the culture of the host country. If the student six don't want to learn about pony ways then there would be no point in them even attending that school. The dance is a pony tradition so I don't feel that changing the name suited it well because it doesn't belong to the student six or their respective groups. I think this is where the episode pushes some unfortunate messages (i.e., the host culture should be neutralized for the benefit of multiculturalism).

I also wish that the issue with Yona was a bit less predictable (i.e., Yona ruined the party through her own accidents).

    It's a decent episode, I suppose.

Even laying aside the comics she hatched him, takes care of him, lectures him when he's wrong, praises him when he does well and he's literally known her his entire life. Mother/son makes a lot more sense to me than brother/sister simply because of that interaction.

Arguments can possibly be made for either. I once asked Spikes voice actress, Mrs. Weseluck, about it. She seemed to believe that Spike and Twilight are more like siblings in their relationship. I tend to agree as it is one of equals for the most part, even taking into account Spike being an assistant.

  4. I think this episode was limited by an unwillingness to really change anything. Things seemed to go back to normal in the end. I liked how Spike interacted with some of the other characters, but, he should have been more skeptical. It was a decent episode but it didn't need a singing element.

Twilight's been his mother for how many years now? Probably at least 10?

I don't think that was ever set in stone. Their relationship was more of a brother/sister bond...but he should have known better anyway, to say those things.

  5. While I am glad the finale put some story points to rest, it also raised some more questions. Is cozy Glow as insane as people seem to believe? Having a mental illness isn't something that can be turned on or off. The filly didn't go to the crusaders and gain their help only to randomly curse them out, scream about power, and start chewing her own tail. She seems competent, power hungry and evil. To me, this sort of taints some of the prior episodes, knowing that the good cozy was just pretending to be good and following their lessons. In the end, she had to be stopped. She intended on being an ongoing threat. maybe she belonged in a mental hospital. maybe with Tirek? I cant be sure.

  6. Hello there. Who was at Bronycon this year? I went and took lots of pictures to show people. What was your favorite part? Did you meet any new friends? Did you take photos too? Go ahead and post them here! I hope you took lots! Here's my photo video! Please take a look and give it a like! Thanks.

I think part of the reason why the show is declining is the fact that the core cast remains intact after 8 seasons. It's alright to keep them after 4-5 seasons, but once you go past that, you're taking too much of a chance. I just wish they would change things up and keep them as minor characters and make some of the newer characters the new main cast.

I don't know any media off hand in which a core cast of characters is replaced after a certain point. Are you able to?

I don't feel the fandom is "dying" as it is just declining. Friendship is Magic has been around for 8 years now, and I can understand that for all those years bronies may have moved on from the series to pursue something else.

I don't really get that. It seems that some people see fandoms as an "all or nothing" proposition. I've had fandoms decline in my life but I don't abandon them just because time has passed. It's not a good reason.

  9. I was thinking lately that Applejack's line in the first song was that she couldn't teach honesty. Why not? That would be an ethics class. I think all the stuff that happened with the failed classes early on was due to Twilight not coming up with a curriculum? Things seemed ill prepared, despite working with the guidelines. I think all the elements would be easily translated into classes.
