I think maybe ask your parents what their problem is, not in a mean sarcastic way, but more in a "why do YOU feel so threatened by me watching this show?" Cuz its their own insecurities that's causing them to 'tease' you. Same with the friends. What they are saying to you, is what they are really thinking about themselves because THEY are the insecure ones. What are they so afraid of? Express to them that you don't feel gender or age.. threatened by it at all, nor do you feel it changes who you are as a person. I'm a fairly new Brony myself, and from the very beginning of this, I decided that it would not effect my security in who I am as a (Straight) male, or who I am as a person. Be secure and stand strong in who you are and nothing else that anyone says will effect you at all. If they laugh at you... look em right in the eye with confidence and say "I'm still very secure in who I am" Welcome to the community. Mikestar.

Hey all, I put this together in honor of Derpy Hooves, one of my fav's. featuring various art by Bronies but video editing by me. It hasn't even had that many views yet, but I kind of got into a huge conversation with an 'anti brony' guy in PM's over this... Saying that Derpy was "offensive" and an insult to retarded people. It ended ok as i tried to respect his pov but pointed out he should also respect mine and I stayed cool about it so think he's ok with me now.... So... anyways, what are your thoughts about it? My Vid shows her as "amazing" and accepted just the way she is, not as offensive or worthy of being rejected and ousted from the show. Kind of ironic that the ''offended" people thought that about her. I'd love to see a future show where the main cast accept her just the way she is! Why can't Hasbro do that? I love this episode though I do have to say, I was a fan of Rainbow Dash long before this! It just made her more than 20% cooler in my eyes. This was actually the episode that I started to like Fluttershy more! The yay scene rocks! Gave me a good laugh. Everyone gives Rarity a hard time here, but she was a necessary contrast. Rarity becoming more competitive than Rainbow, to me, accentuated Rainbow's humble side, which we had never seen before. Also, Rarity's spirit of generosity shone through in the beginning, being willing to have a potentially dangerous spell cast on her in order to support Rainbow Dash. Unfortunately for Rarity, her vanity took over. In her defense though, she was able to realize it in the end. With out her blunder, Rainbow might not have had the motivation to perform the Sonic Rainboom. It was Rainbow's love for her friend, and her hero's, that pushed her beyond her limits. Yeah her costume and make up was awful but it was meant to be awful and over done. Was she annoying? Well yeah, but once again I think she was meant to be. She was showing us that being too 'up yourself' can be ugly! Mikestar. -
Hey Yo, I'm new to these forums. You can call me, Michael, Mike, Mikestar or hey you! I'll most likely answer So... dunno what you wanna know about me.... I like gaming. Role playing, I draw, I love listening to all kinds of music. I'm a youtube addict, I like making friends, chatting, hanging out. Fav. pony is Rainbow Dash Fav. Background pony is Derpy Hooves. Why do I like the show? Guess that's a good place to start.... I like that the characters are down to earth non 'mary sues' who have plenty of vices they daily contend with but accept each other, faults and all, just as they are! I also love the fantasy side of the show, all the monsters, demons, etc. cuz I've always been a fan of that kinda stuff. And it's light viewing... so nice break from the real world. Gives me a laugh. I also enjoy the creative side of it, as in how it's inspired so many people in art, music and fanfic's. anyways.... later. Mikestar
