I think that Moons, in this case, are actually referring to the cardinal Moon Phases, which there are about four per month. That brings the Apple Family reunion to about once every 25 months, or a little over two years. That fits far better with my view of how much time seems to have passed, and it explains why the Apple reunion can take place on the day before the Summer Sun Celebration and the not mention the Summer Sun Celebration the next time it came around.
