Well, I'd like to disagree with your observation...but it's hard to disagree with the truth.

I was quite active in the Welcoming Plaza once (too bad I barely find the time to post there again, but maybe I'll find the time again) and from what I've seen I can confirm what you atr saying.

There were those few "older" members who were pretty active there, but mostly Muffins and Cupcakes. Sometimes a Mod or Admin and not all top many Butterflies or "higher ranks".

Furthermore I've noticed that there've been threads that get overwhelmed by replies while others get two at a maximum. I don't want to tell anyone who they should welcome or not, but if you see two threads in the Welcoming Plaza, one with three, the other one with fourteen replies, do the new members a favor and post in the former.

I'd have to answer the question 'What?' first, before I'd ask myself 'Why?'.
