I've seen parodies of Sesame Street, Teletubbies, and Dora the Explorer that involved gore, a character becoming a mass murderer, and drug usage.
My point is, no matter the series, even the most innocent, you are going to see content like this. While I agree with the idea that such content so easily available isn't such a good idea, and that perhaps the fanbase should tone it down a bit, kids shouldn't be online unsupervised anyways. Then those who are just simply casual non-MLP adult viewers, yes it would give some people the wrong idea about us, but at the same time it gives people the impression that we are not a bunch of sissies who prefer innocent stuff like tea parties, rainbows and the color pink. Then anybody with a brain and/or has been on the internet long enough will understand these are just popular parodies from the twisted minds of some fans, and that MLP:FiM now has such fan content like every other popular series out there.
Personally, I'd say bring on the gore, I can handle gore. I'd rather see that than what went on on the internet back when Sailor Moon was at its height of popularity. No matter where you went on the internet, and every time you went and searched for pictures, there where creepy older men posting porno pictures and fanfics of the Sailor Senshi. You couldn't escape it, no matter how hard you tried to avoid it. The most disturbing part is that most of the girls in that show are underage! It also appears another series in the same similar vein as Sailor Moon, Pretty Cure, has fallen to the same fate. *shudder* I'm glad ponies haven't had the same problem with rule 34....yet.
