  1. @@NocturnalRainbow, The spec on the horizion was the only thing he`d spotted since he`d arrived. He quickly began flying towards the object, as fast as he could, his powerful wings and great endurance allowing him a long period of flight. He`d assumed that at most, it would take him 10 minutes to reach the spec. He could fly for hours, if he paced himself. Yet, soon, he could fly no more, his tired body refuseing to flap his wings anymore. He then began to run, the spec seeming just as small as before... was it smaller? It couldn`t be smaller! He tried calling to it as he ran, unsure if he could even be heard by it. He couldn`t run anymore, so he walked. Soon, all he could do was crawl... the the spec seemed no larger. In a blink of an eye, there was a pony before him. Had Vincent had the strength, he would have tackled the pony and demanded to know what was going on. As it was, all he could do was lay there and pant, slowly forcing himself onto his feet."I`m... I`m Vincent... Vincent... Stormwalker..." he said between tired breaths. "As for... where we are... I... I dunno... last thing I remember was..." suddenly, he felt like his head had exploded, grasping the side of his skull with a talon. It hurt... it hurt to try and remember what he`d been doing before this place... all he could remember was the flapping of wings. "I... I was.... flying.... and.... and that`s all I remember..." He looked the stallion before him over "And... and who are you?" he said, continueing his heavy breathing,
  2. Vincent groaned as he laid on the ground, not wanting to move. It hurt... it hurt.... everything hurt... his bones felt like somebody had taken a hammer to his joints, his head felt like there as an angry porcupine stabbing his skull from the inside... he tried to open his eyes, but they felt so heavy... he wanted to lay there forever, and just wait for the pain to fade. He found he couldn`t do that ethier...the longer he laid there, the more the pain seemed to amplify. He slowly forced his eyes open.... White. White... straight above.... white... strait below... white... all around. All he could see was white. He slowly forced himself up onto his talons and paws, looking around. "What in the fuck...." he mumbled, turning his head in all directions. Desperately looking for anything but this strange whiteness. "Hey! Where the hell am I!? Hello?" he cried, desperatly hoping for some sound... this place was utterly silent.... his voice seemed to echo across the emptiness. Unable to see an end to the whiteness, but refuseing to stay in one spot.... Vincent began walking.
  3. "Well..." Vincent said, feeling abit annoyed with the mare. He was trying to get this stallion some help, and he had to slow down to keep talking to her... but he supposed he could understand her curiousity. "Well, I was talking to him, cause he looked kinda pale. Was sweating alot.... I asked if he was alright and he just... passed out. Nopony around was doing anything to help him, so I sorta just picked him up. I`m talking him to the hospital now." he said, trying to pick up the pace a little, still lifting his wings up occasionally to steady the stallion. Vincent had appreciated the mare`s offer to help, of course, but with that ring on her horn he couldn`t see her being able to levitate the Stallion, and Vincent was strong enough to carry him on his own, albeit with some difficulty.
  4. @, He could feel the stallion moving on his back, raising his wings slightly in an attempt to keep him on. He couldn`t go full speed, out of far of causeing the man to fall off. If the stallion landed the wrong way, he could snap his neck! The hospital was still a good distance away, but Vincent couldn`t fly.... aside from his injury, that would just double the chance that the stallion on his back would slip off.... and falling from the air would be even worse... @, It was then that a strange man came running up to him, blinking as she trotted up. When she spoke, he raised a brow "Thing? Oh, you mean this guy." he said, still moving but having slowed down so as to talk to the mare. "No, he`s not that heavy...." it was then he noticed the ring around he unicorn`s horn. So, she was in the city on rehibilitation. He decided not to let that bother him: she wasn`t foaming at the mouth, or trying to eat him, so he wasn`t going to judge her over that unless she gave him a reason to.
  5. "You sure, man?" Vincent asked, concern creeping into his voice. "You look kinda pale..." it was then that the colt before him collapsed to the ground, causeing Vincent to jump "Merciful Celestia!" he cried, using a pony saying from all his time living amount them. He wasn`t quite sure what to do. The nearest hospital as quite a ways away... but not seeing much choice, he used his talons to slung the stallion over his back, struglleing slightly from the wait as he headed towards the hospital. He must have seemed quite the sight: a griffon carrying an unconcious unicorn down the streets like a slab of meat... but he didn`t see many other options that didn`t involve leaveing him on the road. @,
  6. Vincent was still quite enjoying his walk, occasionally stopping to give his wing a quick test, which always ended in him winceing. "Shit... I reeeeealy shouldn`t have done that..." he mumbled. He`d probrably have to take work off the next day, let it rest. He supposed he could miss a day of work, he had a decent collection of bits saved up, but it still bothered him. Griffins were suppose to be dependable! @, It was then he noticed a stallion, walking down the street looking... scared? Confused? He supposed that was the best way to describe it. He looked like a stallion confused by his own surroundings... or even himself. He walked over to him, looking at the shaken colt with concern "Hey, you alright? You don`t look so good...."
  7. Vincent noticed that the mare had slipped away, smiling softly as he left the alley. "Here`s hoping we meet again, Ms. Symphony... preferably without you attempting to rob me." he said, more to himself than anything. He still wasn`t sure why he had dashed after her like that... he supposed, perhaps, he was simply looking for an excuse to go full speed again. He supposed, more likely, was that he simply wanted to prove to himself that he could have caught her, had she robbed him of anything. Vincent had been planning on heading to the library... but now he supposed he could afford to wander around abit. That little encounter had provided all the excitement a good book could have... and he wondered what else could be going on around town. He`d befriended shockingly few people in all the time he`d lived there, outside of work... this could be a chance to wander, see whom he ran into... figuratively or literally.
  8. @, "Heh, my apologies." he said simply, as she 'ordered' him to stop making her look bad. He watched her eye movements: he could tell she was looking around for exits. It wasn`t really necessary. He couldn`t help but chuckle as she got all offended being called a thief "Oh? Than would you prefer pickpocket? Perhaps Charming Rouge would suit you?" he said with a light laugh. "Anyway, no need to be so tense. Not like i`m here to arrest you." He said, relaxing his own body and turning back towards the alley he`d come from. "Just thought i`d see if I could catch you. It was alot of fun actually. Should do this again sometime." he said the last part with a smirk. "Oh... and I`d appreciate it if you didn`t spread around the... you know." he gestured to the satchel of books "Kinda embaressing. Anyway, i`ll see ya around, hopefully."
  9. @, What Vincent was doing was reckless, and stupid. His doctor had warned him that if he put too much strain on it, he could never fly again, and he was already pushing his limits as it was. Yet... he was enjoying the chase far too much. He didn`t know what he would do if he caught her. That wasn`t on the forefront of his mind, all he could think about was tracking the mare. He watched her slip down a alley, trying to fly in, but finding his wing-span to wide. He quickly dove to the ground, much to the surprise of a few onlookers, before running into the alley way. Vincent, being half lion, had very feline like eyes, as well as very eagle like... as such, he could notice slight movements, and see better into darkness... which helped as it seemed the mare was in some shadows and stopped running. He smirked, walking over towards her. "So... Wind Symphony, huh? I`ll admit, that was a good act. Didn`t have you down for a thief." he said, almost casually.
  10. @, Good? What did she mean, good? Was she actually a pickpocket? She was preety casual for one... and then he was blinded. Shouting out a curse, he covered his eyes with a forearm, suddenly hearing the trotting of foot-steps. taking a moment to rub his eyes to regain his sight. He didn`t even think about it: suddenly launching himself into the air, full speed, dispite his injuried wing. He didn`t even think about how stupid of an idea that was until he felt the pain running through it...but he didn`t let that stop him as he took a look from onhigh. Truth was, he had no idea why he was doing this. The mare hadn`t stolen anything, atleast, not that he`d seen. Maybe it was some primal instinct to give chase, maybe he was curious about who she was.... the fact that she`d given him a fake name, only to reveal her true name once she was caught intrigued him. Maybe he`d just been itching for a 'race' after so long of taking short, nice and slow flights. He scanned the various turn and alleys below him, glancing with his almost literal eagle eyes. There weren`t many people out an about this time of day in this area, so really the only problem were all the winding roads... he suddenly spotted the flash of sunlight reflecting off of a shining object... a shining pony in this case, smirking as he flew down after her, flying just behind her from above, smirking as he enjoyed the 'hunt', the chase giving him a strange thrill even racing never had before.
  11. @, Vincent shrugged at her saying it was kind. It was the truth... well, an opinionated truth, but he felt it wasn`t something to be thanked over. Still, the more they walked, the more Vincent got the sense that they were lost... it was entirely possible it was his imagination, of course, but the mare truly didn`t seem to know where she was going. Maybe she`s a mugger, leading me down some alley to pull a knife on me... he mused, thinking of, if that was to happen, how easy it would be to slit her throat with a slash of his talons. Maybe a morbid thought to have, about a woman he`d just complimented, but he often times imagined all sorts of scenerios. He suddenly stiffened at the sound, looking ready to pounce as the mare hid behind him. Looking down into the dark, he saw... a stray cat, tumbleing some garbage. "It`s nothing. you can-" he glanced back, seeing the mare staring into his satchel, suddenly wraping his tail around her hoof, the one nudgeing the bag open, and pulling it away. He quickly unwrapped his tail and stepped back abit. Perhaps an overeaction, as he had no reason to believe she was trying to rob him, but... the bag was indeed full of more than just gold. It held items he felt precious to him. A few of his favorite books, that he use to bring to read whenever he`d rest on long flights... various items of little financial value from all his trips, from all the locations he`d seen... his only remnant of his life in the Griffin Kingdom, all tucked in his satchel. "I`m sure it was an accident..." he said flatly "But I would appreciate it if you did not go through my satchel, Ms. Sonnet."
  12. @, "Oh, that`s fine. Probrably for the best... i`m not suppose to be flying anyways." he said, stretching his injured wing slightly. "Got it all messed up fighting a Manticore... doctor said to not fly but... well, I can if I have to. Still, walking`s fine." He began to follow her, walking just about a pace behind her, glancing around occasionally. The closer they got to the industrial district, and the poorer sections of town, the more likly there were to be pickpockets, drunks, thieves, or other criminals around. As the mare decided to tell him what trouble she was running from exactly, he nodded understandingly "Ah, so a stalker. I see. Well, it`s not all that surpriseing, a mare like yourself." he said, not in really a flirtatious way, simply stating it as a fact: she was, as far as mare`s went, particularly gorgeous, and he personally wasn`t surprised that some lovestruck stallion had taken to stalking. Even as he kept his, rather perceptive eyes looking around (he was half lion half eagle... natural hunter, natural good eyes) he found himself keeping a good eye on his own bag. Last thing he needed was to be so caught up watching out for Ms. Sonnet, was to get his satchel picked himself.
  13. @, The mare`s request was an odd on, causeing him to tilt his brow. He didn`t know exactly what kind of trouble it had been... for all he knew, the mare was on the run from the law, and it would actually probrably inconvenience him if he were to take her there... but as she asked him, with a winning grin, he sighed. "Oh, alright. Sure. I guess I can do that. I mean... that part of town isn`t really the safest anyway, so I guess." He gestured with a talon "Just lead the way." he said with a light smile, getting some satisfaction out of helping the Pegasus. "Unless you`d rather fly..." he mumbled, hoping he wouldn`t have to: having hoped to give his wings some rest.
  14. @, "Oh, I see. Well, as long as i`m not keeping you from something..." He noticed she was blushing, which was... an interesting sight on a crystal pony, and wondered what exactly she was blushing about. As the mare got suspicious of his little lie, he mentally cursed and thought quickly, his tail giving a twitch as he thought of something "Oh, well, yeah. Kinda sucks with the factories and everything... my apartments actually abit... more east than that. I`m just enjoying the scenic route, and stopped for an early dinner along the way." He said, giving a mental sigh of relief that he`d come up with something. Really, he had to head to the left a few blocks away, to get to the library. It was kind of inconvenient how close the library was to the industrial district, now that he thought about it. Although, now that he thought about it, the shopping district was to the east of where they were... why had the mare been walking this way if she`d been out for shopping? She`d lived there months, from what she`d said, surely she would have remembered a route like that...
  15. @, "Some trouble, huh?" he said curiously, deciding not to pry. Wasn`t any of his business. He noticed her smirking and was relieved to see that she was no longer freaking out like before, glad she`d calmed down and he wasn`t scaring her anymore. "Oh, me? Yeah, i`ve lived here the better part of 5 years. It`s... a nice place... very different from The Griffin Kingdom, but I like it. Not sure why I decided to settle in Manehatten, but..." he gave a shrug. It was no surprise that they`d never seen eachother before: it was a big city after all. Two people could have lived there thier whole lives and never run into one another. "No, no bother. I was just...." he hesitated a moment, still a little self concious about being the 'big strong Griffin' with an interest for reading. "Heading home." he lied. His apartment was the other way. "I didn`t have anything planned, so you aren`t bothering me." "Erm... what about you? I mean, obviously my bumping into you must have been bothersome, but i`m not keeping you from anything, am I?"
  16. @ "Yeah, well, I guess we were both at fault." he said with a shrug, wondering if he should get going... for all he knew, he was being a major bother to the mare... might be better just to leave now, let her go along, now that they`d had their awkward encounter. It was then that the mare introduced herself, and Vincent began to reach out with one of his talons. Most ponies he`d met would shake their hoof shake with him, or if it was informal, they`d 'hoof-bump' or 'bro hoof' as they called it. He watched her curtsy, blinking a moment as he`d never been greeted so formally, and gave a light bow of his head in return with a smirk. "Vincent Stormwalker. Nice to meet you, I guess. Wish it had been under better circumstances, but..." he gave another shrug. "So, you live here? Or are you just visiting?" he asked curiously, tilting his head slightly.
  17. @, As the mane apologized, and gestured to his beak, he smirked at her "A griffon, yes. Not many around here..." he said, though he had just seen two others... " sorry if I freaked you out." He noticed the mare`s eyes looking him over, but couldn`t quite tell if she was doing it out of fear, or simply looking at the 'exotic' creature. At her question, he smiled lightly "Me? Nah, i`m fine." Might`ve hurt if she`d hit my wing, but... "What about you?" he said, looking her over. He noticed she had her left wing tucked slightly, raising a brow. "Seriously should have been watching where I was going..." he mumbled. He adjuested his satchel, which had gotten knocked slightly during the collision. He supposed he could stay and chat with the mare, he wasn`t exactly busy, but he doubted that she`d want to spend time with the towering Griffin that had just knoecked her to the ground. Still... he wasn`t really the only 'rare' sight. Crystal Ponies were still a rarity, although many were now visiting or immigrating from the Crystal empire, eager to see the world now that they`d returned.
  18. @, Vincent had finally made the decision to head down to the local library. Although most wouldn`t think it from looking at him, Vincent was a big fan of reading, mostly on history...military history mostly, from long ago when wars had been common place, but he also dabbled in information on the Crystal Empire, it`s disappearance, Discord`s reign, and of course the history of the Griffon Kingdom... which was long and bloody. It was a quirk of his, one that he`d always been embarrassed to admit. Vincent blinked in surprise as he suddenly ran into somepony, watching the mare all with a wince. It appeared to be a Crystal Pegasus, best he could tell. "Sorry." he said simply, prepared to move on, bumping into somepony being commenplace in such crowded streets with his bulk, when he noticed the mare`s terrified face, blinking in surprise. "Huh? Hey, i`m not going to hurt you. Sheesh, it was an accident." he mumbled the last part. Seeing how much he was scaring her, he backed away abit, figuring getting up in her face when she was apparantly terrified of the Griffin wouldn`t really help anyone. He should have kept walking, but decided to atleast make sure he hadn`t hurt the mare when he`d knocked her over, least he could do.
  19. Vincent was enjoying his meal, noticeing the two Girffon`s enjoying themselves and smiling lightly, glad he hadn`t decided to bother them. Although he couldn`t hear a word they were saying, he assumed they were on some sort of date. So, he simply returned to his meal, still trying to decide what to do with his day. As much as he wanted to go flying, he didn`t want to risk damageing his wing further... he was flying on it more than he should have been as it was, and his doctor had warned him that too much flying could make the damage permenant... possibly making him lose the ability to fly. He shivered at the idea. Flying was everything... flying was his life! He`d spent most of his young life flying, the idea of losing it forever was terrifying. "Maybe I should quit the delivery service..." he mumbled to himself. He supposed that wouldn`t be a great idea though... although they wouldn`t admit it, and maybe it was just Vincent`s imagination, but he thought most businesses as hesitant to hire a Griffin. Vincent sighed, oppening his satchel and pulling out a small sack from one of the pouches, pulling out some bits from what appeared to be a significant amount, before placing it back in his satchel, closing it, and paying for his meal. He left the cafe and looked around, wondering what to do next. He could just go home, but it was way too early for that...
  20. Vincent was enjoying the rabbit stew, considering what to get for his main dish now that he was finishing up his appetizer, when he noticed two Griffins flying down the street, converseing. He blinked in surprise... the Griffin population was basically nonexistant in Equestria, both visitors and residents, so seeing two was a rare sight in a city like Manehatten. He considered going to talk to them, but shrugged, supposeing he shouldn`t bother them. They were probrably out of towners, visiting Equestria... maybe delivery Griffions resting after a job even. So he decided just to order a 'steak', and relax on his day off. Maybe he`d take a flight around town later...not that it would probrably help his wing...
  21. Vincent moved down the road, taking slow, but purposeful steps. He glanced around at various stores and establishments, smelling the aroma of various soups and breads the ponies were enjoying. It of course, started a rumbleing in his own stomach. Vincent was normally flying around this time, making deliveries both around town, and to nearby cities. He use to take much longer, much farther trips, but a bad fight with a manticore had left his wing injured. He could fly just fine still, but flying for too long the Unicorn doctor had warned, would change that. He wasn`t actually suppose to be flying with them at all for a few weeks, but... well, he needed to pay the bills somehow. Vincent had grown up in the Griffon Kingdom. Not a bad place, not really great ethier, and when young had taken a job for a delivery service. He`d taken many trips, across the world, from Equestria, to the Blue Blood Isle, to Germaney, Prance, Saddle Arabia.... you name it, he`d flown there. Yet, he ended up leaving the Griffon empire years ago, settleing in Equestria. Why he chose Manehatten... he still wasn`t sure. Something drew him, he knew that. Today was a day off, as no deliveries had been assigned to him, and he was heading to his favorite restaurant. It was a small establishment, most of it`s seats outside, but it was also his favorite place to go eat... well, because they served the best meat in all of Equestria as far as he was concerned! And it usually wasn`t too crowded... because most Ponies didn`t like going to a place that served 'meat'. Griffons were most carnivorous, being half eagle half lion, something most ponies didn`t approve of. During the early years, when Griffins first found equestria (already inhabited by the three kingdoms), that had been the first sign of bad blood... when the Griffon ambassador spotted a passing dear, tackled it and ripped it`s throat out. And then proceeded to offer some to the ponies. Not the best first impression. Luckily, since those thousands of years before, a synthetic meat had been made, and although many Griffins flat out refused to eat 'false meat', Vincent didn`t really mind. Heck, he lived in Equestria, where nowhere he knew of served meat, so it was preety good he didn`t mind. He took a seat outside and placed his order, a 'rabbit stew', made to taste like said mammal would have, and sat back and relaxed, enjoying a drink as he waited on his meal, his eyes scanning around the restaurant and passing ponies.
  22. Hm. Fair enough. I forgot how you only get a day to pick the zap apples. Now, a question for the Queen of speed herself... Dash, what exactly IS Junior Speedster Camp? A sort of... summer camp I imagine? Did you go there after you got your cutie mark, or a little later in life? Any good memories you`d like to share from your time there? And, for the Fashionista... I read that originally you were going to be the element of Inspiration, Rarity. How would you have felt about this? While you certaintly embody generosity well, I feel that inspiration might have been a better feel for you.
  23. Yes, as in canon ponies. She even goes as far as to specify she means she won`t do characters such as Derpy, Lyra, Octavia and such because they, while awesome, are non-canon. She does not say "Ask-canon ponies Canon questions to recieve canon awnsers." Technically, he awnser to my question before is a fanon awnser, because nowhere in the canon does it state that the zap apple money and cider money was used/being saved at that time. If I wanted to go onto something like this, and only ask questions I could get definitive awnsers from the wiki, i`d just go do that.
  24. Yes, it does. I`ve seen multiple "ask" forums in which fanon awnsers were given. If she doesn`t want fanon questions, she should state it in the OP.
  25. Alright, alright. You make a fair point. I suppose most of your cider season money goes towards keeping the farm afloat during the winter months. My apologies, AJ. A follow up question: Do you have any hopes for Applebloom`s cutie mark? What will you do if her special talent lies elsewhere, or would cause her to need to move far away to pursue it? Another question... abit touchier of a subject matter... whatever happened to your parents?
