Hello there, all! MagicaDerpy here, introducing a game for the lot of you to look at and perhaps grow interested in. Here's the basic info: Engine: RPG Maker VX Ace Genre: Modern, Magical Girl, Fantasy Premise (copied from the intro text): Once upon a time, in the magical land of Equestria, there lived a pair of sister princesses, one of sun, one of moon. Beneath them were the six Elements of Harmoney: Honesty, Loyalty, Kindness, Laughter, Generosity, and Magic. Together, they kept the peace in Equestria for many years. That is, at least, until the dark being Eclipse arrived. Bringing with him the armies of both the Gryphon and Dragon Empires, Eclipse ravaged Equestria, shattered the Elements, and before long began to wage war upon Castle Canterlot itself. With no other option left, the two sisters joined their powers, and transferred the remaining population of Equestria to a new world. However, in the transit, the elder sister was corrupted. In her final moments of control over her own body, she pleaded to her younger sister to continue to the new world, and find a new set of Elements. Weary and heartbroken, the younger sister complied. She pressed on into the new world, and set in motion her plans to gather what remained of the Elements, save her sister, and destroy Eclipse once and for all. Thus, our story begins. So that's what's up with the story! What I'm hoping for by posting here is a bit of help. I can map, event, etc, but having a team, no matter how small, would be excellent! First and foremost, there are a lot of sprite generators and what not about the internet, not the least of which is the generator that comes with the program itself. However, none of them are quite sufficient for the project. The sprites made by the engine itself are a bit too childish and squat. Most other sprites are a bit too tall. I've found a pretty good base, which, if you're interested, I can link you to, but if someone would be willing to make a unique sprite base, that would be awesome. This brings me to the next thing. Using a specific base is tough, because there are no generic sprites to go with it, so populating an entire world of NPCs is tough. So, even if you aren't the person who sprites the main characters, if you can sprite well enough to match whichever style is chosen, feel free to drop some sprites of your OC over here! You'll get your name in the credits, and your character featured, even if it's only a little bit~ Most NPCs will have some small degree of intractability, so if there's a catchphrase, a certain mannerism, etc, that your character has, throw that in with the sprite. Spriting is the main thing that I need for this game, but if you have any experience with the engine in the areas of scripting, eventing, etc, that'd be great! Also I'll be needing things like proof readers, beta testers, and even some artists to do things like character portraits and backgrounds for some of the drawn scenes in the game. There's also a chance that, if I can get far enough in the game, I might be needing some animations, so if you can animate, go look up some standard Japanese Magical Girl transformations, 'cuz I could probably use your help! So there's the project! Feel free to add in suggestions, questions, whatever you like! I want all kinds of help/feedback! Thanks a bunch! I know there's about a thousand and one Derpy related users on here, but I'm a magical girl, and the name carries significance to my purpose here. More on that in a mo'. So here I am! Feel free to call me Magica! I mostly pony in my spare time between seasons, doodling, watching the Japanese version, etc. I have a few OCs, and am currently trying to muster up the ability to update my fanfic (it's entitled "Clash" by Sweetiebotzombie on fimfiction, if ya wanna check it out and smack me with things 'til I update it). However, my main project, the thing that I wanna do the most, is game designing. I'll post a separate thread for this shortly after I post this, but I am planning on making an MLP game, based off of magical girls and, you guessed it, Derpy. So that's me. That's what I do.
