I do see some corruption, but not as much as I think your saying. Maybe because the fandom is so big, there are less people who haven't joined yet, which could be why new membership is so slow -

Thanks to all of you! I feel so welcome (sorry for replying so late! Took an unexpectedly long nap) I have a pretty long story of my name: When I was a little kid, I loved to toddle around and touch everything I saw. One time, I toddled up to our really old computer and said "ea ful!" while pointing at it to my parents. Apparently, that was the first sound I made! As I grew up, my group of friends and I had fun playing lan games with each other over the weekend. We'd play Quake, Unreal Tournament, etc and try our hand at some coding. One weekend, the old cassete video that had footage of my first sound was running, and when we opened the TV to load Halo, we saw me waving excitedly and shouting "Ea Ful!" at the computer. Ever since then, that name has stuck with me

If I can recall correctly, I randomly decided to watch one MLP Episode, due to hearing about all the hype from mlp. One episode and I was hooked.
