  1. Word of Warning: As much as I love getting commissions and getting paid to paint ponies, I whole-heartedly regret having to google images of Button's Mom for reference. I will not say why and only advise you to use google safe-search - if you're not into the kind of thing. I'll put up some pictures of her when I'm finished (the commission! not pictures from google) and before I ship her off to her home.
  2. Well work has certainly caught up to me.

  3. I am so hungry but if I have to eat pizza again I will throw up and cry.

Depends on the type of pizza for me. If we're talkin' garbage like Little Caesar's here, then I agree with ya wholeheartedly. But something like Via Mia, I could eat that every day for the rest of my (increasingly shorter) life. XD

Agreed, however there are the factors of 'almost midnight' and 'college student' to take into account. Luckily for me, Jimmy John's is open until 3am and they deliver. Aw yeah Jimmy John's!

  4. New post! Sorry for double posting, but I have pictures this time! They're also up on my tumblr but I'll put them here as well. @.@ I actually have the Thanes pony done, I just need to take pictures of them and after that I just need to do Grendel! I went with the Gilda mold so I have a stripped Gilda mold with a detached leg floating around my workspace at the moment. He'll need to get painted up this afternoon after classes, after which my group members and I will be baking cakes and filming the Grendel fight scene! Now I just need to figure out how to stick Grendel's leg on there long enough for the fight. (If Deadguard is uncomfortable for people I'll take the picture off the post!)
  5. I'm making a few Beowulf ponies for a school project and I'm trying to decide which model I should use for Grendel: I have a Zecora and a Gilda, and I'm weighing the pros and cons for each. Zecora: pros, she's taller and she has a leg that would be easy to cut off for Grendel's arm, cons, she's another pony and looks similar to the other ponies Gilda: pros, she very alien compared to the ponies and she has clawed feet for the trophy arm, cons, she's a little shorter than the model I'm using for Beowulf (I'm using a Big Mac mold). I have five ponies to make before Grendel, so I have time to figure out which I prefer. Any opinions would certainly be welcome! (Also: Big Mac is Beowulf, I have a Rarity for Hrothgar, a Twilight for Wealtheow, Pinkie Pie for the various thanes, and Applejack (sorry AJ!) for the one guard that gets killed when Grendel attacks.)
  6. @@Ashley I seal them with a high gloss finish because I liked the look of it more than just having a matte finish. It makes an obvious difference between them and the official ones, but to me at least it also makes them seem a little more professional The Trixie made with a Rarity mold definitely seemed more accurate, but I could definitely see about making one that looks a little more like her. I have more than enough Twilight molds to work with and a few Rarity molds, so I'll see what I can do!
  7. 2nd Update: I finished Octavia and Vinyl! They turned out quite a bit better than I expected, so I'm quite pleased. They're joining my various collection on my jewelry box today I have a English Lit. project coming up that I'll be making Beowulf ponies for, so I'll try to update here as well as on my Tumblr! (Bonus: Have a stacked Vinyl and Octavia XD)
  8. I just have to get through today and then I can sleep!

  9. New post because I have a new problem. So carving Vinyl Scratch out from a Twilight Sparkle mold is really kicking my butt. I'm trying to spike-ify the hair and smooth it out and I have a too big xacto knife to get in and really clear out the individual locks of hair so This is much more difficult than I anticipated. On the bright side, Octavia's carving is through and I just need to paint her up now. Hopefully I'll get started on that...er...Thursday, I think. Too much work to do tomorrow. Anywho, this is just an update
  10. Oh gosh, I completely forgot to put up a link. Here's the tumblr link: Splendiferous Ponies There's a queue for it so it updates once a day, and some of the pictures are of full-sized brushable ponies I've done. All the names (commissions aside) are up there as well @@Friendship_Cannon Commissions and G1 aside, they're mostly ponysonas of RL friends. A few of them, like the top one and the redhead have gone to their respective owners whom they were based on (The blue one with blonde mane is my ponysona and the first one I did.) Again, aside from commissions and the G1 Twilight, I came up with all the designs. Of course I asked friends for their opinions, but mostly they left the design up to me and I tried to base them off of their personality and preferences. (The top one is probably one of my favorites too, and though I was sad to hand her off I was so happy at how much my friend loved her.)
  11. Hello! I'm new to the forum, but I'm certainly not new to liking ponies. I've been collecting as much G4 as I could get my hands on for nearly three years now, and last year I ended up with a few extras of the brushable toys. So I decided to try my hand at customizing them, since I'd seen some seriously cool things done with them. Rehairing is fairly tedious (as anyone who's tried it knows I'm sure), but then I found the blindbags and repainting those is...possibly more fun than it should be. So, since this is a place to put up fan made things for ponies, I thought I would share the pictures of blind bag ponies I've done! These certainly all the ones I've customized, but I don't really want to spam everyone with all of the pictures I have at once. I run a blog over on Tumblr for the customs I do, and since my queue is running low I'm going to take some time over the weekend (hooray for Labor Day!) to do some more work, possibly making some show accurate background ponies. (Two of the ponies, the Snowdrop and the white pony with blue hair, were comissions from my Etsy shop.) Anyone have any suggestions of who you might like to see, or perhaps a themed pony I could try?
  12. This thread is very quickly turning into everyone being wonderful and me being so grateful for it I'll just put here that I thank all of you and you all look wonderful :3 I'm really excited to meet people now. Usually when I've been on forums posting in the newcomer section is the most painful part because you're lucky to get even one reply, so getting this volume of responses has really blown me away Specifically to @, thanks so much for the tip! I'll remember to use it in the future, as I'm sure it will come in handy.
  13. Sorry about taking so long to respond, I just found out I still have accounts active on forums I haven't posted on since 2006. It's like finding a time capsule. A horrible, horrible time capsule. That being said everyone here is positively lovely. It makes me really happy to see all of the responses to this, and so soon after I posted! @SolarKnight: A-ha, I'll try not to get too lost. I'll have to go exploring and get my bearings. I can already think of a topic to post over in Octavia's Hall, so that should be a good start! (Not that this hasn't been a wonderful experience too ) @Scootalove: It's certainly one of the friendlier forums I've seen. I'm sure I'll love it here. @Kulstor: I can help talk you through some character design for personality and what kind of talent would fit best with the character you have in mind. If they're characters you're interested in developing of course. Characters can be difficult, but sometimes it just takes a bit of coaxing to get them to come out. @QuirkyUsername: Ah, was it? I was afraid it would sound stiff and awkward I'm glad you liked it though! And thank you for the welcome! I may take a few days to spread my (proverbial) wings and get settled in, but once I am I hope to stick around for quite a while.
  14. @Sparkle Speed: Oh gosh. Now I have to go and write them Well I do have two ideas in mind, I'll just need to get them out onto paper and get them up on the site. I'll see what I can do with working around classes and the like @Chatoic Discord: Really? I've been on so many forums where if you write a long post no one reads it @w@ It's really nice to know that people actually want me to babble endlessly. XD Well not babble of course, but talk more It certainly makes things easier for me. I hope to stick with MLP for as long as it's there to stick to! It makes me really unconditionally happy and I'm going to defend that feeling with my dying breath. *dramatic* More realistically I'm going to gush about how great it is and float away on a happy cloud from people who don't want me to like it (for some reason).
  15. Ah, thank you for the replies! @fimdashie: Hopefully I'll make more posts that are interesting to read. ^^;;;; Guess I'm going to have to finally break down and start writing out some MLP fanfiction. @Apocalyptic Chaos: That's certainly wonderful to hear! @Kulstor in particular, do you need help coming up with names? It's not always the easiest thing, especially if you're trying to come up with pony names.
  16. Hello! My name's Inkyheart and I'm trying to creepy my way more into the Brony community. I love My Little Pony so much and it gives me a huge sense of glee to see things pony related and talk about the show, or ponify my life in as many ways possible. It's not a joy I can easily describe, but I'm hoping other people here understand that You can probably already guess I'm using my ponysona. Before you think Inkyheart means something bad (eep!) it comes from my writing cutie mark. I tend to write stories out in pen when I write them down on paper, and it's how I started writing stories, so: Inkyheart. (Also because Typeyheart would sound weird.) I'm kind of nervous about throwing myself out into a forum like this so be prepared for really overly professional posts (like this one!) for a bit and a very Fluttershy attitude. I will try to write posts in the future that don't sound like I'm writing a resume or doing the whole 'fake casual friend thing haha'. Like I'm doing right now (sorry). Anyway, that's a long intro post. @.@ And no one will read it <whistles>. Ah, if you do and you want to talk to me, even if you're just being polite for civility's sake, please do! I won't judge based on age or gender or anything of the sort, so feel free to say hello! I'm probably much more nervous than you. All my love, Inkyheart
