visual art Old Drawing I dug up
tlcbonaparte replied to tlcbonaparte's topic in Non-Pony Art & Creations
Found another: I drew this one after reading Dune. This is how I picture Chani looks like (Chani is Maudi`s wife). Also this was when Blizzard was hyping up Starcraft II, as you can see I drew the protoss psi blade.on her. -
My theory is Twilight is indeed being prepared for something. So is Cadence Think about it guys: 1. Reforming Discord 2. Reawakening of Crystal Empire 3. Dignitary from Saddle Arabia 4. Twilight's transformation 5. Cadence's wedding. If we link these things together, there is a bigger picture of what's to come. Cadence is the princess of Love, her wedding only serves to increase her power, Twilight's friendship also made her more powerful. Discord should be someone sealed forever, but Celestia risked letting him out. It could very well be that she needs his help for what's to come. If I have to guess, I'd say it has something to do with the everfree forest and why the old castle was abandoned.

How will Twilight Sparkle handle change?

Exactly, you were excited about what she would do. That's why I said it's actually a good thing she didn't lay out her plan in right away. This type of delivery works better for actual great evil plots but it's still useful in holding audiences in suspend before the really bad reveal. I understand you feel SS is the worst villain in the series, while I think Sombra is even worse, but I think you should give her credit where it's due. SS obviously has a lot of flaws but keeping her plans in the dark is simply not one of them.
-
Yes, after you know her plan you think it's ridiculous, but what about BEFORE you knew her plan. Since you know what's scary, it's not a huge leap between the nature of fear and the reason why SS's plan was not explained in detail. If you knew her plan all along, then the movie would be far worse partly because her evil plot sucks, but that's no reason to fault the delivery of her plot. People were genuinely worried about what SS was going to do to Twilight prior to the big reveal near the end and rightfully so. That's why you were kept in the dark for the majority of the movie, and I believe it's much better than laying it out in the open.

I spent two posts pointing you to the same example which you choose to ignore and refuse to see what I said about your "it only is scary when it's explained" logic. Now one last time, THINK about what I just posted. Now ANSWER me what do you think about the fear of unknown and the example given by me.

There are other kinds of fear than those being shown in plain sights. The fear of the unknown is one of the greatest fear of all. To quote Hamlet "But that the dread of something after death, The undiscovere'd country, from whose bourn No traveller returns, puzzles the will, And makes us rather bear those ills we have Than fly to others that we know not of? Thus conscience does make cowards of us all," Fear stem from lack of understanding, That is why I find it amusing you consider Sunset's lack of explanation for her evil scheme a shortcoming.

IDW Has Seen the Season 4 Script and....
tlcbonaparte replied to Kyoshi Frost Wolf's topic in Season 3 Discussion
That's a superficial difference. What I meant by the example is that this is a turning point in a show's life, it's extremely delicate. I understand people want to shake things up in the face of such huge changes, Chuck is my way of telling you guys what could go wrong. I believe characters in the show are as much if not more important than the plot. While plots are ever changing, Personalities of a show's protagonists should remain the same like a pillar holding up a ever changing sky of plot. -
IDW Has Seen the Season 4 Script and....
tlcbonaparte replied to Kyoshi Frost Wolf's topic in Season 3 Discussion
Has anyone watched this show? It's a show called Chuck, and it was one of the best show I ever seen, Until season 3. The writing team for the show wanted to shake things up and made the main character a much more useful and powerful character, and to go with that they made his personality different. And it crashed and burnt. Those of you who want to shake things up, please take Chuck as a precautionary tale. Characters make or break a story or franchise. It is one of the most important parts of a show. You DON'T want to mess with that,
