The largest issue with the identification of aspergers is the process could better be defined as an art than a science. There are traits, actions and responses to lookout for with a check list to back you up, but the simple problem is every single person with autism, aspergers, high functioning etc are all different.
Insults referring to autism, to aspergers etc are as hypocritical as insults because someone is human. We're all human, but no-one is a like. Autism just means there's one more label on us, but it doesn't mean there's anything different specifically between one person with, and one without.
Having aspergers feels like I have received a gift towards incredible academic ability, because I feel I wouldn't be the person I am if I didn't have my logic or my slightly anti-social behaviour.
So yeah, we're all friends, have autism and be proud of hoo you are - Pretty sure no-one would think less of us just for being born with it.
