Wow, o.o just logged in for the first time in a few weeks, didn't expect to see so much recent activity on this thread
Ooh, that's awesome. I've been wanting to get a cutie mark tattoo on my shoulder blade. Still debating between Twilight's cutie mark or Rarity's.
They would both look great I think, but I lean more towards Rarity. Twilight's mark has too much white to look very good as a tattoo.(unless you planned to have a big swath of purple put on your shoulder that it could be outlined in).
I've promised my friends that as soon as I get a job in teaching that I'd go out the same day and get cheerilee's cutie mark on my arse.
As far as properly-placed cutie mark tattoos go, they could be worse

Beauty Mark Tattoo in Canton, CT is offering discounted Pony tattoos for $40, with all proceeds going to benefit Michael. If you live in the area and are the kind of person who likes ink, this is a great way to support him.

New wave is my favorite. I'm also a fan of early gothic rock, and some industrial.
Depeche Mode is probably my single favorite group, followed very closely by The Cure.

Tonight I was watching a 2011 movie called Detention (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1701990/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1) and in one scene a character was paging through a yearbook. It was only on screen for half a second but something caught my eye. I went back and paused on a certain bit and I was surprised to see what appears to be a My Little Pony reference (I added a screenshot of it).
Have you ever caught a MLP reference in other media before? If so, what was it in?

To me, half the fun is considering the why behind different characters' actions and words. I'm not the kind of pony to dwell on animation errors, but when a character says or does something that doesn't have an immediate explanation, I like to think about what her motivation might have been to bring that about, and how it lines up with events from previous episodes that seemingly contradicts it.
To me, there are no continuity errors. There's just a lack of understanding of the whole picture.

I'm glad Spike got an episode, but this one seemed a little contrived to me.
It introduced into canon the fact that a non-magical pony (or dragon) can use magic in a limited way (requiring the use of a pre-prepared 'scroll', so to speak), which I'm not sure I like.
It had some great parts like with Pinkie Pie running off and coming back with cupcakes, but overall I think this one is the weakest of the season so far.

Pinkie, because she throws the best parties.

A blue dry erase marker.
It would still be the most technologically advanced writing instrument in Equestria. I bet I could figure out how to make more, and then become richer than Filthy Rich with my marker racket.

Sweetie Belle is the only unicorn of the bunch and she doesn't seem to care that much about developing her magical ability. The only time a princess has been shown to take a student is when Celestia took on Twilight after she demonstrated her unusual talent with magic. I don't think that should be taken as evidence that all princesses take students.

I only played up til Gran Turismo 2, but they were always my favorite racing games. When GT5 came out I was on the fence about buying it, I kept telling myself YES NO YES NO YES NO. Then finally I decided to buy GT5, and discovered that GT6 was just a week away. So I waited, and today I bought 6 :3
Anyone else play it? How do you like it?

Well her ascension to alicorn-hood was rather unexpected. Celestia had an idea for what was going to happen when she nudged Twilight along with Starswirl's spell, but still no one was really expecting her to become an actual princess.
My assumption is that Celestia and Luna were just caught a bit off-guard and don't have anywhere to put her. Even Cadence was in the same situation that Twilight is in up until the Crystal Empire was freed and Equestria apparently annexed it and installed her as monarch.

How so? Did he asked the same question?
One of the things he's most known for is a thought experiment in which (to put it briefly) a cat can be both alive and dead at the same time until it has been observed.
-
Human observation doesn't have any direct impact on anything. Light is reflected from an object whether a set of eyeballs are there to receive it or not. So I'd say no, by virtue of the fact that an object would be unable to determine if it is being observed or not.
Also, your post made me think of Schroedinger.

It's a tie between Pirate-speaking Rainbow Dash and Nightmare Rarity. On the one hoof, Rainbow Dash speaks Pirate. On the other, greatest comic villain ever.
So hard to choose :3

Sounds like there's enough interest to at least get a small game going. Aside from my starter decks my cards are still en route unfortunately, but those of you interested in trialing it, I was thinking I'd like to test out remote play using Skype and/or Hangouts this Saturday. Who's up for a test run to see if this can work?

Welcome to the forum!
and... Animorphs, WOW.
Haven't even thought of those books years. I was huge into them when they were first being published.

Might cause problems where a person on one site has a name that someone else has on a different site. You can't very well force someone to change their names to make way for a new feature.
-
So does anyone have the 2 player starter set yet? I went to Target, and they only had those weird cardboard boosters. The hobby shop I went to also only had the 2 'normal' decks. I ordered it from Toywiz a while back, but when I called them recently, they said they didn't get it in yet. I really want a Fluttershy mane character since I'm running a purple/yellow with much more yellow bias, but I have to settle for Twilight at the moment.
When I called Toywiz they told me the manufacturer pushed back the release date.

Another point to keep in mind is that Spike was hatched while Twilight was still a filly living at home with her parents, but he doesn't appear to have aged very much at all in the time since then. During the dragon migration Spike meets what he refers to as teenage dragons, suggesting that, at least until adulthood, dragons physically mature at roughly the same rate as humans.
Considering all this and the points mentioned in the previous posts, I think 15-17 is a reasonable age range for the mane 6, with the assumption that ponies reach adulthood a bit earlier than humans do, leaving home to be on their own by 12 or 13.
-
In Daring Don't, didn't it come up when Rainbow Dash was talking to Twilight about the new upcoming book? I think they said either 12 or 14.
Maybe I'm remembering wrong though.

I don't think they're ever going to do it, unless it's one of the very last episodes. The CMC exists around the fact that they don't have cutie marks and they get into a bunch a shenanigans because of it. While it would be an interesting episode to watch, it would ruin those characters for children and for skylights.
FTFY
It would just seem wrong for them to get their cutie marks. They're the Cutie Mark Crusaders, and being blank flanks is just who they are. Making them like every other filly in Ponyville (even if they're special in their own way) would require character changes that I don't want to happen. I'll love Scoots no matter what, but the journey is what makes the CMC great.
For that matter, maybe they've already got cutie marks in blank flankery, and unfortunately for them that cutie mark is a big nothing

Pretty good only problem is the colors are wrong
Well she turned that color when she tried to eat rainbows :3

We rarely see anyone but the aristocrat ponies, but there are a few instances of lower class ponies living in the city - the bellhop in the palace, the gardener, and Hayseed for example.
Twilight's family seems to be middle class. They live in a relatively average looking home, but they can afford to send Twilight to a special school for gifted unicorns, so they must have at least some money. There isn't much shown of them besides that.

Anyone else think Maud Pie is the funniest character of the show?
in MLP:FiM Canon Discussion
She was funny in a cute sort of way. It was great how obsessed she was with rocks.
What I love about her is her dedication though. That line near the end was delivered so perfectly: "I don't really like candy. But I do love Pinkie Pie." It really might be one of my favorite lines of the whole series.
